We stayed for 6 nights over August. Location and setting were excellent. The site is beautifully maintained. Our children enjoyed playing on the small park and had lots of space to play outside safely. We liked walking up to see the goats and searching for rabbits. We also enjoyed the local county pubs for a drink and an evening meal.
The lodge was well maintained and well stocked. We thought the arrival pack with chocolates, biscuits, teas etc were a lovely touch and very much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing and arriving late! We also made good use of the hot tub throughout the week. The lodge itself was extremely clean and well maintained. You could see signs or wear and tear but this didn’t bother us or affect our stay.
We came as four adults and two children. We felt the lodge was a little small for all of us, particularly the kitchen area as we were unable to move around once the table was pulled out to accommodate us all. Other small issues included limited wifi. Only really a problem when we were trying to find places to eat or plan days out/routes. There were brochures in the lodge with local information which we appreciated and used.
Also, black out blinds would make for a better night’s sleep, particularly on the skylights.
We would come again but only as a family of four due to the space issue. On the whole, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Excellent location, 20 minute walk into Richmond with plenty of shops and bars
Went on several walks around the area which are all good and not strenuous, weather was also good, cabin slept 5 of us easily and BBQ was an added bonus, cabin could do with a little TLC on the outside wood (paint) but this didn’t stop us enjoying the week we had there, would recommend to others going to stay, thank you flowery dell

I have stayed at Flowery Dell over many years, it has always been spotlessly clean, well maintained and the customer service is literally second to none. I stayed for nine nights with my husband, my adult children came to visit. The weather was amazing so we made good use of the BBQ and decking area which despite being on the front is incredibly private. The upstairs balcony off the main bedroom is a real bonus and was a lovely space to have a morning coffee. There are 3 double bedrooms all have a TV in.
There is a good size fridge freezer and plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. There's lots of space in the hallway for coats and shoes. The downstairs shower is fantastic, powerful and constant hot water. The wildlife around the lodge is fantastic , from deer to squirrels to hundreds of rabbits which seem to appear from nowhere in the early morning and early evening.
Loads to see in the surrounding area, We had lovely food at The Fleece and Rustique in Richmond, The Bay Horse in Ravensworth was superb (book in advance as it gets booked up early ) we also had a fantastic meal and service at the Kings Head in Reeth.

A great break away for my 40th birthday with family. Clean well maintained accommodation and grounds. A great base for exploring the surrounding areas. This was my 4th visit but the 1st visit with the family, they loved it!

Our family had a great time relaxing at the Wild Rose Lodge. The hot tub was a great asset to help us unwind after a lovely visit into the close town of Richmond easing away any tired legs. We lit the log fire on two of the nights and created the true log cabin scene as we tucked into our microwave meals On that note the cabin was equipped with everything you needed. Well done to the owners. We will be back. Thanks again.

Our 2nd stay in this lodge & once again it was fantastic. It is perfect. All the people who work here are polite & helpful- nothing is too much trouble for them. Cannot recommend flowery dell enough. We are looking over the next few days to book it again for march. Can’t wait to come back!

We have just enjoyed a wonderful weekend with family to celebrate my big birthday in Wild rose lodge at Flowery dell. The lodge was warm & cosy & had a kitchen & dining area with everything we needed to prepare a full meal or snacks. There was a modern smart tv & lots of board games. The firm favourite was the large outdoor hot tub which was well used by all the family.
We’ll definitely be back

Repeat visit to Flowery Dell and will come again. My family and I have been visiting for many years and our friends and family have also stayed based on our feedback.

Lovely, idyllic location and all lodges are well equipped, toasty warm and any needs are catered for, just ask.

Flowery Dell is faultless. From the minute you walk through the reception door to handing the keys back you are greeted with very friendly & helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I had to change my booking & they absolutely went the extra mile to help me out. The lodge was just perfect & spotlessly clean with everything you need & a lot more too. The hot tub was fabulous & the decking was great for just relaxing on & watching the wildlife. Would recommend flowery dell to everyone- nothing negative to say about it.

Nice location,terrible internett,made it a bit hit and miss contacting and planning trips with my local relatives.bed and bathroom a bit on the small side in the room I stayed in...very creaky door and floor outside the upstairs left bedroom.nice with a washer ,drier and dishwasher.the TV was also good.jaccusi v popular with the kids...would have to give an 8 out of 10.

We came for a friend’s birthday and had a great time. The lodge was immaculate, well equipped and even left little touches like a hamper and bottle of bubbly. Beds were so comfy. From booking to checking in the staff were so lovely.
Location is great - we walked into Richmond and lots of walks etc around.
The only tiny problem was the shower temperature. But I’m sure if we would have asked they would have sorted it.

We had a very relaxing break between Christmas and new year at Flowery Dell, we stayed in the Wild Rose Lodge. The lodge was very well equipped and had everything you would need during your stay and it was warm, cosy and clean. There was a lovely welcome pack for our arrival with some nice goodies, also one for the dogs.. The hot tub was a great addition. The lodges are very dog friendly, there is a short walk in a wooded area and also a meadow which our dogs loved and plenty of poo bins. The lodges are in a great location and we recommend a visit to Richmond castle, we also had a great walk on Richmond racecourse which has excellent views.

A fantastic return visit to Flowery Dell. Family break away with the pups in this slice of heaven. Such a great location for so much, and the best place for switching off. Local exploration of Richmond, York, the Dales, Hudswell, Catterick, and thr lodge itself the perfect tonic to reset and relax inbetween. Can never fault this place, from communication and the helpful staff on reception, to the staff always on hand if any issues (which there were none!). Fantastic, and went far too quick. Highly recommended.

Our third annual visit to this idyllic spot our grandchildren love the freedom and the animals we older lot enjoy the hot tub and the peace and tranquility and the closeness of the beautiful dales,to stay in Floewry Dell is not cheap but it is worth every penny of the charge, hopefully we will all be back next year!.

Just returned from a lovely relaxing week. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed, we received a lovely welcome hamper and there was even one for our dog . The location is so peaceful with lots of great walks nearby. There’s a lovely pub about 10 minutes walk and Richmond and catterick are a short drive away. This is our second visit here we’ll definitely be returning.

We came to Flowery Dell with our 2 teens (aged 18 and 16) after a busy year of exams. The holiday was just what we needed - lovely surroundings, near to Richmond and a Lodge that had everything we needed.
A lovely touch when we arrived to a hamper for our wedding anniversary and even a welcome pack for our pooch too. Relaxing evenings in the hot tub and a great time had by us all. Thank you.

Fab lodge amazing hot tub, lovely well kept site nr to Richmond, on arrival we had no heating or hot water. But the owners immediately came to fix the problem, they gave us wood to use in log burner until heating was fixed. The only problem with that would have been the safety of a hot fire when we had a young toddler, a fire guard needs to be provided, that's the only suggestion, lovely family run site would definitely return

Upon arrival the staff are very welcoming, very quick check in. Small welcome hamper in the lodge is a nice touch.The lodge itself is clean but very compact. It has three bathrooms but only one has a shower that you can actually stand up in and have the shower above your head, really lacking in headroom, both the upstairs toilets are also lacking in headroom and all the bathroom sinks are unusable as there are glass shelves placed above them and you hit your head on them while trying to wash. I had to use the kitchen sink to wash in a morning. The bed was uncomfortable as the mattress is very poor, it has a mattress topper on but you can still feel the springs through it. The lodge isn’t very well insulated against noise inside or out, you can hear every noise from every room all the time including noises from the bathroom! Creaky doors and floors are not good when others are in bed. The hand rail on the stairs is unusable on the top half as it is touching the wall and you can’t hold on to it, this was a big problem for me due to mobility issues. WiFi is quite slow. The kids loved the hot tub, always very hot, nice location, and as mentioned before the staff are excellent. Overall a nice break with the family but for the price I would expect it to be perfect. Sorry for the negative feedback but if they don’t know, they can’t fix it.
