The lodge was a perfect base for exploring the area, so quiet and peaceful. Loads of room for the four of us two adults with 13 & 10 year olds. Felt very secluded, tranquil and private. Everything was clean and tidy with the lodge being very well equipped. It was great to be able to walk into Richmond from the lodge.

The various lodges are situated in a rural setting just outside of Richmond. Beautifully arranged in a large area with ample space to explore the grounds. Well equipped, friendly staff and a lovely welcome pack.

Lovely location about 15 minute walk from Richmond so ideal peaceful base. Lovely lodge that met our needs with facilities and had a lovely welcome basket. Nothing particularly negative other than the bed was smaller than expected, I thought I’d read it was King size but probably my mistake and it was uncomfortably small for us being very tall but I’m sure suitable for most people, I should have checked properly so my error when booking. The place was lovely and quiet so you could really relax, the only thing we found odd was that you were expected to strip beds etc and bag it up ready for departure, I understand it’s self catering but in all the years in many many places we have stayed, we have never had to do this before and when on holiday it’s not really something we expect to do when paying that amount of money. Of course we did this and it’s not a huge deal but just not what we’ve ever had to do anywhere before. All in all nice setting and easily accessible for Richmond.

We decided to do a last minute deal and had the best time. Perfect location for a walk into Richmond, the dogs loved it too. The accommodation was just perfect too and the hot tub a cherry on top of a well needed break. All refreshed and ready to tackle life again after so much peace and relaxation.

This was my third stay at Flowery Dell and the second of which I stayed in Larch. It was my husband's first time, as I usually come with friends.

Larch is cute, compact and perfect for a couples get away, although it sleeps more, the living space is a bit small for more than 2 people I would say. Lovely touch for dogs is that they get their own little hamper Inc a small toy (Winnie still has her first ever one and is very happy with a new addition). The little hamper for humans is also a lovely touch Inc, really, coffee, milk, hot choc, shortbread biscuits and little chocs. A big thank you for the bottle of fizz for my 40th Birthday too, that was very kind.

Tiny suggestions that we think would help is a small side table for the sofa at the end near the kitchen, we brought a stool down from the front bedroom to put drinks on so wasn't an issue. Also maybe some cosy blankets on the sofa as the leather makes it really cold to sit on, again we brought a blanket down from the front bedroom so not an issue, only little touches that would would improve the flow and comfort downstairs.

I was genuinely surprised by the vibe I got the moment I stepped into my lodge for the first time. It honestly felt like walking into my own living room — cosy, familiar, and instantly relaxing. The Christmas tree was up, the TV had all the channels ready to go, and the kitchen was the kind you could happily spend hours in.

With Richmond only a five-minute drive away, and easy access to the rest of the Yorkshire Dales, I could genuinely picture myself spending a full week here without running out of things to do.

I’ll admit, the price felt a little premium for what I’d usually choose… but once you experience everything — the comfort, the location, and not forgetting the ultimate hot tub experience out on the decking — it makes complete sense.

I’m already gearing up to come back again in the spring or warmer months. There’s so much in and around Richmond that my children would truly enjoy, and after this first stay, I’m convinced it’s worth it.

We first stayed at Flowery Dell 11 years ago at the recommedation of friends..and have been regulars since.

We have stayed in a number of the Lodges and none of them have disappointed.

They are spotlessly clean, well kitted out, warm and comfortable. We love the peace and tranquility as we always visit in winter.

Richmond is lovely with lots of places to eat and drink. The area is great for walking and sightseeing.

The lodge was incredibly hot and it was impossible to control it even though i followed the provided instructoins. The heat came on and off all night and was incredibly noisy. The beds were very uncomfortable and the toilet upstairs was tiny, very difficult to use. There was nobody to inform as reception does not open on sunday but we could not stand another night like saturday night so we left on sunday.

We booked the bank holiday weekend stay at Flowery Dell staying in Larch lodge.
The area was lovely and quiet, a few lodges around a central area, none of the lodges overlooked the rear balcony area where the hot tub was.
The lodge was really clean and had lots of extras in the property, like books, leaflets and magazines about the surrounding area. also a lovely little yorkshire hamper welcome box and a little dog welcome kit.
Staff we spoke to were really friendly.

7th stay at flowery dell, 1st in larch. Lodge is great, all mod cons and the little luxury touches make the difference. Hot tub is emptied/cleaned/refilled before every stay and serviced every day. Staff are unbelievably good, nothing is a problem to make your stay perfect.
We are booked again later in the year.

Very relaxing, peaceful site , you were only ten minutes away from Richmond in the car, probably around forty minutes on foot, lodge was also nice with a welcome hot tub that got used a lot. Would recommend.

We stayed in Larch this time with our dog. The touch of the hamper and the wine for my husbands birthday was lovely.
Property was great for our needs.
The location is wonderful and Richmond itself is a charming place.
The weather was not great with a storm on the Saturday. Unfortunately there was a power cut to the area on the Saturday evening. An emergency light came on in the property so we felt safe. It was cold and dark but that did not stop the owners springing into action, firstly fetching up a high powered torch and then they fetched a gas cannister for the calor gas heater. What a pair of stars they were. This really did set them apart from others with their customer service. Thank you. We will definitely be back!

We have been for the past 5yrs and can never fault how amazing this place is, the staff are great and everything is very well organised and maintained.
Our dog was so relaxed and happy in the environment that he was surrounded by, and he enjoyed his own welcome pack.
We usually always book the couples only lodging which has a sauna as well as a hot tub which is delightful.

We have just returned from our break at Flowery Dell. We had a lovely time, the children loved the hot tub, seeing the animals and spotting all the rabbits. Beautiful site, very clean and great location. The hamper was a lovely touch too. Thank you.

I’ve visited Flowery Dell over ten times with my wife and family and I can honestly say that this place has something special. My dog loves it more than any of us as he chases rabbits all day long. The location is silent and it’s a stones through from. The town and local amenities, book now if you want to detach from the rat race!

We can't wait to come back!
The lodges have everything that you need with some welcoming touches.
Whilst the the location is quiet remote, just a short walk and you're at the local pub or in Richmond centre.
The grounds are well kept and the staff are lovely.

I was so happy with our weekend away I called this morning to thank them.

We have visited Flowery Dell three times in the past year, twice in the Hazel and once in the Larch. All lodges are extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The location is stunning and so peaceful. All you hear is the sound of nature. The hot tubs are spotlessly clean and well maintained and if you are lucky enough to experience a clear sky at night you can sit under the stars in the comfort of your hot tub. Richmond is less than a 5-minute drive away where you will find many shops, restaurants, and bars. You can also drive to the coast in under an hour to Saltburn-by-the sea and explore the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. Whitby is also a great day trip where you can experience a bustling town or boat trip around the coast and at night return to the tranquil Flowery Dell for rest and relaxation. I cannot recommend these lodges highly enough. All staff are very friendly, professional, and polite. They are a credit to the family that runs the business. Cannot wait for our next trip.

Lovely clean lodges and we all enjoyed our stay, taxis into Richmond very reasonable at £6 each way ( to far to walk for us). Very quiet even though it was kids holidays. Only 40 mins to Hawes which is a lovely day out. Hot tubs well maintained each day with the chemicals etc……would recommend for a nice chill time.
