Beautiful lodge in a lovely setting. A few minor problems, en-suite bathroom door knob loose and a couple of doors that did not close properly but nothing that impacted the holiday. Our daughter enjoyed the hot tub with that lovely view, and we regularly had visits from bunny rabbits and squirrels and managed to see deer on one occasion. The ladies in reception were lovely and extremely helpful. Richmond is lovely and we will definitely be back for another break.

We absolutely love Chestnut Hot Tub Lodge at Flowery Dell Lodges and have just enjoyed our second stay — and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

From the moment we arrived, the excellent customer service and attention to detail really stood out. The lodge is exceptionally clean, beautifully presented and has so many lovely personal touches that you simply don’t get with a corporate holiday rental. We were welcomed with a gorgeous bag of top-quality goodies, as well as toiletries, eco-friendly washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The hot tub is in excellent condition and is the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring. We used the lodge as a base to visit some beautiful places across North Yorkshire and Cumbria during the day, and we found some lovely places to eat in Richmond.

Coming back to Chestnut in the evening was always a highlight. Sitting in the hot tub, enjoying the stunning views and peaceful surroundings, was incredibly relaxing. We were lucky enough to see birds, rabbits, squirrels and even deer from the lodge — it really is a tranquil little haven surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We stayed Monday to Friday and it was exactly the relaxing break we needed, while still giving us the opportunity to explore so much of the surrounding area.

A beautiful lodge, fantastic customer service, wonderful attention to detail and an amazing setting. We couldn’t recommend Chestnut Hot Tub Lodge highly enough.

Just had a fantastic five day stay in chestnut lodge, location was brilliant out of the door and straight onto a field, perfect for the dog,staff were very helpful and even posted back to us some clothing that we had left behind, we will definitely be back for another stay.

Been here a number of times and this won't be our last. The lodges are all nice and well equipped and the surroundings are beautiful. Springtime is my favourite time with the beautiful green leaves and a bonus of blossom trees everywhere you look. I'm missing the birds singing and rabbits playing already, although I can still hear birds and probably best I don't have the rabbits in my garden.

We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Chestnut Lodge recently. This was our second visit to Flowery Dell and won’t be our last! Communication from Flowery Dell is always excellent and the check in and out is smooth. We didn’t have any problems that needed reception input but it was made clear that staff were there daily if we had needed anything. The views from Chestnut are stunning and the area opposite the lodge is ideal for children to run and play. We saw so much wildlife including rabbits and pheasants. Of course the hot tub was fab and was kept clean through twice-daily checks. The lodge has everything you’d want in a home away from home including washing machine and dishwasher. The bedrooms and bathrooms were so spacious and well-thought out. We visited the Forbidden Corner, Richmond, and Barnard Castle during our stay - all very much recommended as great days out. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is our second stay in this lodge. Definitely the best one on their site. Great location and really cosy inside. Loved the free gift for my husband's birthday. The only thing that could improve the stay would be the pillows. Having proper pillows rather than the feather ones would be much better. But this is only a minor issue. Everything else was perfect

We had a wonderful break at Flowery Dell, in the Chestnut Lodge, which is modern and ideally placed on the site to safely exercise our dog.
The view from this lodge is spectacular; you look out to a beautiful wooded area, yet can drive into Richmond town centre in less than 5 minutes. The cleaning staff here work to the highest standards - immaculate attention to detail - and the hot-tub testing without disturbance is fab.
Not sure when this lodge opened, but it is so well maintained…you’d think it was only yesterday! We’ve already recommended Flowery Dell to others and we hope to return again, very soon.

We have stayed at Flowery Dell a few times but this is the first time in Chestnut. We really enjoyed the newer lodge but we have a little more work to keep on top of it with carpets and having 3 labradors. Luckily our robot hoover we bring kept up with it. Being on the field the dogs could chase rabbits more efficiently. The patio area is lovely with a nice table and area with the hot tub.
This will be our preferred lodge in the future if available.
I think a few of the older lodges are due an update not we have stayed in this one.

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe Chestnut Lodge and Flowery Dell Retreat. We made a last minute decision to have a few days away we found the flexibility of booking at Flowery Dell fitted our needs exactly, we were able to book from Tuesday to Sunday there aren’t many that offer that flexibility. We had the friendliest greeting, everything we needed was provided in chestnut lodge, everything had been well thought out. We’ve stayed in many hot tub lodges around the uk and this was by far the cleanest ever. We weren’t overlooked which is lovely when you’re getting in/out of hot tub it was so tranquil and with a lovely view we were able to fully switch off and just relax. The lodge has top quality furniture and appliances and a lovely gas barbecue. We’ve been so impressed we’ve booked to come back next year.

What can I say that's not been said already. Another brilliant chilled few days at Flowery Dell. Chestnut lodge was just perfect inside and out. Every lodge we have stayed in has improved on perfection. The location of this one was the cherry on the cake. Again the staff are so friendly from calling to book to handing the key back when leaving. The weather over the days of our stay was perfect too.

This is the best cabin we have stayed in. Cherry Tree was our last stay and that needs modernising as the living area had 2 tiny sofas which were uncomfortable and I am unsure where anyone would sit if it had been at capacity rather than just us 2. In comparison chestnut is modern, comfortable and great location. Not overlooked. So much better with the hot tub to the rear rather than at the front where everyone walks.

This was our 3rd visit to Flowerydell Lodges. We have stayed in a different lodge each time.
All lodges have exceeded my expectations. Chestnut lodge this time was beyond immaculate. All of the extra touches meant so much (a hamper with lovely little Yorkshire treats inside, family games to enjoy whilst at our stay, even down to a few washer tablets to use for the washer!) a beautiful style lodge with easy to use heating, very good WiFi, a luxurious hot tub and everything else, including friendly, welcoming communication from the FD team.
We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday and they also gifted him a hamper for himself with a few treats inside which was also such a lovely touch!
Really can’t recommend Flowery Dell enough ❤️ we love it here!

Michelle and Jackie went above and beyond to have the WiFi restored in chestnut lodge when it stopped working
They brought us a bottle of wine and some chocolate to apologise for the loss of use .
Nothing is too much for the staff they’re all so helpful and friendly.cant wait to go back

We have been to Flowery Dell over 5 times and every visit has been great. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. We take my sister who has Downs Syndrome/Learning Disability and she loves coming with us she especially loves going in to the hot tub after our long day out. We have tried a number of different lodges and Chestnut was our favourite.

We normally book Honeysuckle Lodge, but for our 13th visit this year, we decided to stay in Chestnut Lodge. Upon our arrival we received a welcome bag full of goodies and a bag with treats and toy for Ollie our cocker spaniel. The lodge as always was absolutely spotlessly clean and impressively designed, with all amenities provided for a relaxing stay. The location itself is beautiful, quiet and tranquil, with plenty of wildlife to see with an adequate excercise area for dogs to enjoy. You can even walk the dog round the complex. There are also local walks to investigate. Richmond itself is a beautiful small market town within earshot of Hudswell. On a final note the staff deserve all the plaudits for being so friendly and welcoming which makes the holiday feel like home. Booking a staycation at Flowery Dell Lodges and you certainly won’t be disappointed. Hopefully we’ll return again on our 50th anniversary.

We have stayed in each of the different style lodges over the years. The Chestnut is the best for 2 couples. It is spacious and has 2 bathrooms. The Chestnut is ideally located next to a large grassed area perfect for our 4 legged member of the family. Overall another perfect stay.

We have stayed here several times before but first time in the new lodge. The lodge was clean and well stocked. The veranda was large and overlooked a wooded area in which deer could be seen early in the morning!
The site is clean and well tended, there is a paddock with some goats and a couple of ponies, the goats were naughty! It is very quiet and relaxing overall. We will definitely be back.

We have visited Flowery Dell lodges for the past 8 years ,sometimes 3 times a year as it is a beautiful ,peaceful haven, lots of wildlife to admire and countryside on your doorstep.
The Lodges are very well kept,home from home they have everything you need ,attention to detail is superb,we stayed in the Chestnut Lodge this visit and it was beautiful,the big plus was to just be able to open the door and the dog was immediately on the field .The immediate area is ideal for your furry friends as their are plenty of fields and walks available.
The staff at Flowery Dell are very friendly and approachable and are always at hand if you need them.
Overall a great place to stay and we have booked again for the New Year

Only problem for us was the rabbits, they were so relaxed and didn’t even run away.
When I took our Border Terrier out last thing at night I counted 17 within 50 metres of our cabin.

This was our fourth and probably best visit to Flowery Dell. We stayed in the new Chestnut lodge which was faultless. The whole site is immaculate and the staff can’t do enough for you. We hated having to leave and can’t wait to return.

Absolutely loved our nights stay in this beautiful new addition to Flowery Dell. This is now our third time staying in these gorgeous lodges. Our first time staying in Chestnut and we loved every single moment. Absolutely wonderful little getaway for a young family. Lodge was immaculate and such amazing outdoor space for the children to play.

This is the third time we have stayed at Flowery Dell and Chestnut is the best lodge so far. (The other two were also excellent)
Having an extra bathroom makes all the difference with two teenagers and a space to get the dog cleaned up before going into the main living area was a life saver.

The lodge was immaculately clean when we arrived and the location meant we didn’t have cars driving past so it was extra quiet.

Very highly recommended and we will be back.

It is a magical place to be. My stay has been perfect, tucked away in a valley. I wake to the birds singing and the silence of the countryside. At night it is tranquil with no noise/light pollution. There is wildlife right in front of me. The lodge is so comfortable and clean, it has everything I need and more. My stay has been particularly outstanding. It is the best, believe me. I thank you all who make this place what it is, simply amazing!
