Farther west than The Wild Atlantic Way, a beautiful and welcoming coastal place to disappear to. Cosy and lovingly refurbished farming/fishing Connemara family cottage with the usual mod cons. Original house built well over a century ago. Short stroll from the secluded beaches of Mannin with its miles of pristine white sandy beaches, framed by large sky over the Atlantic Ocean and Connemara’s Twelve Pins mountains to the east. Access to many acres of unspoilt beach terrain for ramblers adhering to the welcoming signage of local landowners.

Beautiful Hideaway in the heart of Connemara

The offer of the Flaherty Cottage came up through Connemara Lettings on their Facebook page and once I found out that this was a pet friendly letting we jumped at the chance to take it. Located at Mannin strand, it is a short drive to Ballyconneely and about 20km from the town of Clifden. It is the perfect location to chill out and is a stone's through from the beach. The quiet location allows those with dogs to be able to walk them without the worry of traffic. The cottage has beautiful views towards the atlantic ocean and is well appointed, with all mod cons including washing machine and dryer, fridge freezer and electric oven and gas stove.

Communication before, during and after our stay with our hosts, Tom & Fionnuala was great and they were very accommodating. If you are planning on travelling to the west of Ireland, I would highly reccommend Flaherty Cottage as the perfect base to explor the area.
