A most relaxing place to while away the day with views to soothe and make you smile. The house was very well equipped and Bernie very welcoming. Thank you Stella, Alan & Betty
This is a beautifully appointed apartment in excellent location right in centre of Clifden. The apartment is modern, bright, spacious and has all the facilities that one needs for a comfortable stay. It has been newly and very tastefully decorated with a subtle maritime theme. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in rebooking. The staff at Connemara Lettings were also excellent and very helpful.
We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
Our three-generation family of ten booked Pooreen House for two weeks in August, 2017. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The house sits on a slight rise above the surrounding hillside, with an expansive view across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and the County Clare coast as far south as the cliffs of Moher. The owner met us on arrival to give a tour of the house, demonstrating appliances, electrical and heating systems. Throughout our stay, he was kind and attentive, though unobtrusive. First impressions: house and furnishings immaculate, and impeccably maintained. Lar...more
Great week with the family in Wave Bay Cottage. Would highly recommend. Close to lovely beaches and great food close by in Keogh’s.
Lovey modern house in a great setting, the photo's don't do it justice. Nice welcome pack and greeting from Bernie despite getting to the house past 9pm. Underfloor heating and modern kitchen fittings nice hot showers comfy beds and a peat burner makes it very welcoming.
Fabulous property in an excellent location in the heart of Clifden. Travelling with a baby, we had everything we needed in the property, it was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Also had a very warm welcome from Pearl who was so kind to leave us some basic treats to start us off like homemade bread, butter milk and water which was greatly appreciated after our long journey. Highly recommend this property.
I rented this house to share with a couple of ladies . We had a mini yoga retreat. This house will leave you speechless. Beyond gorgeous. Million dollar views. Bed linen spotless and crisp. I have rented many houses. This one gets the 100 percent pass. Not a speck of dust under the beds. We loved it . Samantha and Yvonne the sgen6s are a pleasure to deal with. Great advice and information. We most certainly will be back to once upon a tide. Yvonne thank you for recommending a home away from home. It was a great weekend. Caroline Holmes
Unparalleled setting, clean, spacious, comfortable house and helpful & friendly service. We will definitely return!
We really enjoyed our stay, the house is fully equipped with everything you could need including baby equipment. Beautiful setting very close to the beach will definitely book again.
Fantastic cottage. Arrived on a wet March evening to a roaring fire in the stove. Cottage has been recently very restored and renovated and is kept in immaculate condition. Bríd was very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know about the cottage. Great place to explore this part of the country. I hope to return soon and would highly recommend.
My family and I stayed in the house for a month and it had everything we needed for our extended holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and updated. Location couldn’t be better...just a very short walk to shops, pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was easy from booking to check out. Loved our time here!
Family of 8 including grandparents had a wonderful week in Clifden staying in this great house It had everything we could have wished for with plenty of space for all Very near the town but yet private and peaceful
A fantastic little hideaway about 3.5 km from Cleggan Village overlooking the bay. Perfect for couples looking to enjoy some down time with beautiful views on your doorstep. The owners of the apartment live next door but you will not be disturbed, although they are very willing to help if you need any assistance. Only a short drive from Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Clifden and Omey Island to name but a few. We stayed for 7 days and could easily have stayed 7 more! Would definitely recommend.
Really nice location for a family break away from the city life. Breathtaking views and the sea is just on your doorstep. The house is in perfect condition and gas absolutely everything you need. The owners are so lovely and helpful. Thank you again for the bred, butter and the strawberry jam as a welcome gift. Well needed after a long drive ;-) we really loved our week away and would definitely recommend this place and location.
We were a group of 11 friends, and we had the chance to spend a 4-days week end in the wonderful Guinness House in Ballyconneely. Everything there is perfect: the landscape of course (white sand beach with turquoise blue water, and breathtaking view on Errisbeg), the incredible garden (both sides of the house), but also the house itself, with its numerous rooms, that big kitchen / dining room, and the classy, yet sober decoration. Time has no effect there, hours are seconds, or years, you're never sure! And when comes the moment to leave, you have that unutterable feeling that you were one o...more
Amazing stay in beautiful accommodation. We are a family of 8, 6 adults and two young children 5 & 7. The accommodation was absolutely perfect, something for everyone, games room for the men, games for the girls, beautiful garden for the children with tree house. Living accommodation superb, couldn't fault anything, every last detail been accommodated. Comfort amazing, huge kitchen diner, and huge lounge. The hosts Marie & Joe were so so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them, and of course 'Lady' the dog was the center of attraction with the girls.
We, a group of 7 adults, had a wonderful stay in Capolla House. Spacious, comfortable holiday home within walking distance of Clifden. We were warmly welcomed by the owners (with delicious scones). Cosy kitchen diner, well equipped and spotless. 5 bedrooms, 4 of which ensuite and 1 with private bathroom. Lovely lounge and sunroom. One of the best holiday homes we ever stayed in. Contact with Connemara Lettings was very pleasant. Good information on house and local area.
Bríd was a lovely host and we had a beautiful stay. A perfect remote location with great views and all the self catering facilities required. Great wet room!
Delighted with our stay. Geraldine was a lovely host and very kind to our little boy as was her son. He loved seeing the chickens, horse and cow! The location is great as was the view of over to Inisboffin - especially the sunsets! We were very lucky with the weather and took advantage of the nearby beaches. Overall it was a great break and we would thoroughly recommend the house and the peaceful locality! thank you!
What can i say at such sort notice my family needed accommodation due to the passing of my granny. I called up and got booked into the apartment with no hasstle giving it was also a bank holiday weekend we where looked after. The quality of the apartment was just amazing very spacious and comfortable the garden is great for friends amd family to gather in and the views where amazing with out a shadow of a doubt we will be back to book into that accommodation again
Highly recommend this for anyone with disabilities, all on one level ramp into rear door walk in shower in main bedroom with no base unit, perfect for anyone in a wheelchair. Peat burning fires an enormous kitchen area with panoramic window to that view. Arrived to home cooked scones and was gifted a home baked loaf a few days later. My mother summed it up saying the only thing that was wrong was the time it was to short, thanks for a lovely stay Gordon
Fabulous stay location was amazing beautiful white Sand beach and crystal clear water ! Highly recommend amazing stay thank You !
Large well located apartment in town centre. All was perfect during our stay except for showers which have way too low water pressure .
Our stay at Derryinver House was wonderful. The views of the water were beautiful and could be seen from many places throughout the house. We enjoyed our short walk up to the village center and around the surrounding area. Marie and Charlie were always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you for the lovely accommodations.
The location of E2 appartmemt was ideal, the appartmemt itself was very clean and all of us staying there said we would go back again. Connemara lettings were very helpful when I was dealing with them and I would use them again if booking in that area.
Lovely clean house . Breathe taking views from front door. Pity we couldn't catch any fish all week but the walks n pub nearby made up for it.
Everything was lovely - perhaps a bit more decor to warm up the rooms would be nice, but they are brand new, so perhaps it's still early days! The only complaint we had was that we were given the wrong eircode and got lost on the way. Wifi doesn't work either. But that wasn't a problem. Thanks, Faye
Superb spacious comfortable clean peaceful house. Great outlook onto lake. Good base to explore Connemara and get away from it all. 19km to Clifden 9km to Roundstone 1km to nearest shop and bar Highly recommended.
Just back from a four night stay in Carraroe. There was 7 of us in the apartment from 9months to 86 years of age and it suited all perfectly. The apartment was brilliant, right in the centre of the town. Modern and comfortable with all the essentials you need for your stay. Couldn’t ask for better and will definitely be back.
Had a fantastic stay at the Uplands, fab house the views were brilliant couldnt ask for more ......
would recommend this lovely bungalow for families. Owners were helpful and location was good. Tiled floors noisy so would suggest some felt stickers under furniture!
This was a lovely cottage - spacious, bright and perfect for a young family. Great garden too! The only two small negatives were that there was no gate at the entrance so we had to keep a really watchful eye on our 3 young children when they were in the garden in case they went near the busy main road. The kitchen would benefit from having more bowls/delph also as we kept running out of these, being a family of 5! All in all though, a lovely stay!
We really enjoyed our stay in Sea Studio, the location is great and Kathleen was an excellent host, we spent a week there and hope to return again.
Quiet apartment in the perfect position in the middle of town. Wonderful beds and very well equipped Recommend
Can't wait to make another family vacation to Clifden. I will hopefully be able to book our trip based on the honey suckle lodge availability. It was a fabulous home away from home for our family. Warm and cozy and lots of space. Made our trip even more pleasant.
Excellent location, beautiful house and very well-appointed A couple of helpful suggestions 1. Could be signposted with name of house at the turn-off 2. The fishermen who use the jetty could be encouraged to keep the area a bit cleaner (eg. get rid of rotten fish and smell and disintegrating plastic fishing nets)
We had a brilliant stay and were so well looked after by John. The houses were immaculately clean and had all modern appliances. Would definitely recommend and would come back.
Great location in the center of Clifden in a warm modern apartment. Booking staff very helpful and friendly.
A quiet yet central location and well equipped apartment. Plenty of room for 4 people and we entertained 8 people for dinner with no problem.
Luxurious home -- everything was perfect: comfy beds, lovely sheets, finest appliances, and stunning views in every direction. Deeply relaxing weekend: loved hearing the sheep on the hillsides, the sea in the distance. My children were in bliss with the zipline and trampoline, loft, and oodles of games and books. Cosy fireplace and lovely terrace. The kitchen was fully set up for everything we needed. My only request would be a bit more information left out for some of the basics -- like how to operate the TV/DVD (we couldn't), how to operate an Aga stove (I figured it out on youtube), ...more
Very beautiful property with lovely space and access to the town. Walkable to Clifden all modern equipment. Lovely and brigth.
We a group of 5 adults stayed in this property in Clifden. We found the location excellent. The lounge plus kitchen is open plan. The kitchen was modern,well-equipped.The lounge combined with the kitchen was exceptionally clean, bright, comfortable and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The Wifi was excellent. We found there was a welcome pack there comprising milk, fruit etc when we arrived. This was greatly appreciated as we had come a long distance and after we had unpacked were able to have a cup of tea.Yvonne and her staff were most efficient, welcoming and approachable and we would like to...more
Beautiful part of the country, the accommodation was first class and I have to say the lady looking after the property had the place spotless, and when we collected the keys,we were made very welcome by her.The house is in a quiet area, and was a little hard to find. The dwelling was very spacious and well laid out, with a nice view. There are so many interesting places to visit within a short drive, which makes the location a very good base to work from, and it’s only a couple of minutes drive from town center. Very happy with my break and we had beautiful weather all week.
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
The White Thorn House was easy to find on the Bog Road outside Clifden. The accommodation was excellent and it was very good having two ensuite shower rooms ! Martin had kindly left a starting supply of milk, tea and shortbread -- thanks !! We didn't have any children with us but we were all parents and agreed that the upstairs room would have been brilliant to keep children happy. It was fun watching the cows wandering around outside and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed the patio with table and chairs . We would definitely visit the White Thorn House again.
We stayed here for a week with my family and our two small dogs and the house was perfect for all our needs - a very comfortable open space, inside & out. The dogs loved the outside space. Brilliant spot, a few minutes walk from the centre of Clifden.
Great house, top condition and helpful landlord. I'd highly recommend this place. Beautiful location
Lovely old house in a fantastic location. Literally one minute walk from centre of village but really quiet. House has everything you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Lovely sunny patio area. Would happily stay there again. So much to see and do around Clifden too.
All I can say is wow a home away from home couldn't recommend it enough there was 5 of us my husband son mother in law and father in law fab house not to far from all ammenities and we are going back next year a little gem just 5 mins outside clifden Carole cudnt do enough thank you so much we had a fab holiday xx
My family (7 in total) stayed for 3 weeks in this charming apartment. Gerry lives nearby and was very attentive to our needs and getting us settled in. It is quite spacious and the outdoor deck was an added bonus for enjoying tea. We parked on the street and had very little problem finding a spot. The grocery shop across the street was very convenient and the entire town is just a very pleasant place. All of the treasures of Connemara are easy to get to in short day trips.
We came again - this says it all.... Great house, friendly caretaker. Especially Great für families.
This was our second stay at the Coral Strand. We found it a home from home that was both comfortable and spacious with an ideal location across from the beach. The views from the house are stunning. It’s location between Clifden and Ballyconneely gives you a great vantage point to explore Connemara. The house has all the necessities but perhaps some items like the kettle had seen better days. We found the owner and management very accommodating with regards to our pet dogs which we really appreciated. Overall a great stay and we hope to stay again in the future.
An excellent location, fantastic views. The beach so close and easily accessible at most stages of the tide.
A great house for families .The garden is an added bonus for the Summer evenings . We will definitely be back.
Aunty Bo’s is beautifully situated and enjoys stunning views of the nearby lake which and is very close to Clifden . The house is clean and spacious , the decor and furnishing are somewhat tired though but it is well equipped . Only gripe would be that the gas and electric charges are separate tariffs to the rental cost which itself was not cheap .
Very comfortable, well appointed, perfect for our family group of 7. Great location. Friendly and helpuf staff at letting agency, no hesitation booking it again and will recommend it to friends
Very comfortable stay in Ceannabhan Cottage. Only problem was , I needed to boost hot water for morning showers and the kitchen is in need of refurbishment.
No 14 is a very comfortable well equipped holiday house. There is plenty of space for different age groups to do their own thing. The setting is very peaceful with lovely views. While a car is necessary the location is very convenient for shop/restaurants and beaches.
As always our stay in Jimmy Ridge's cottage was wonderful. He is a most gracious and helpful host. The situation of his house suits us beautifully, off the main road, and within walking distance of beaches...….some of us enjoy a swim before breakfast.
Just back from a week at Clifden Glen. Excellent location and very clean house. All mod cons except for washing machine, but we only stayed for 1 week so this was okay. Definitely would stay again.
Excellent stay within a beautiful house with great scenery. Very warm and spacious house with excellent facilitires
First of all I thought the property was named Barrastaile. I hadn’t heard of Killarney Vista. Whatever the name though, the property was amazing. Olive, the lovely host, met us and showed us around her lovely home. She had even left us some little cakes to welcome us. The house itself was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. The Kitchen was large and fully equipped. The lounge room was furnished with Comfy furniture and an open fire and the best part a fabulous panoramic view. Also the bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Although we didn’t use it there was a very large bath in anoth...more
House is in a great location with a great view. It is spacious and the outside garage is very useful for storage. It is warm and cosy and the kitchen is a good size. There are a few items in the house that I'd describe as old fashioned.
We loved our stay at Spiddal Cottage. Firstly, an exceptionally warm welcome from host Patsy Thornton. The cottage is cosy, fully equipped, spacious with a warm turf fire to add to the atmosphere. As this was a Christmas break for my husband and myself, we were very pleasantly surprised at the trouble Patsy went to with decorating the cottage, a nice Christmas tree was all lit up on arrival. We loved being so close to the sea (only 5 mins walk) and got to do some coastal walks. Spiddal is a very special part of the world. We came home totally refreshed and ready to ring in 2019. Thank you...more
The Cottage Recess was a perfect location for our mountain walking weekend, the house was very clean and Ann and her husband were very helpful. Everything needed for a weekend away was included in the house (towels, ample kitchen utensils/ pots pans etc and provided wood for the fire). will definitely use this house for our next trip to Galway to finish the Twelve Bens walks. Thanks
The family celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a weekend stay in Murlach Lodge. It was a fantastic venue with plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang around in the house. Would recommend it for a family gathering!
This is a great apartment. Location in centre of Clifden. Very spacious and well equipped. Perfect for large group as all bedrooms ensuite. Would recommend.
There were eight in our party four of whom had not been to Connemara before. But for myself ,and three others, we were returning to the area after staying in Ballyconeely in 1979. Lots of things had changed so much but the scenery was just as beautiful and we had very good weather. Grace's Cottage offered us a lovely retreat to return to. It was comfortable and well equipped and we all enjoyed our stay. One little thing was that although it slept eight, the seating provided in the lounge and kitchen was only geared to six but we managed to improvise. Thank you for a relaxing ...more
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
Great location and lovely cottage. Plenty of space and has all amenities. Cozy during the windy evenings .
House had everything required for a comfy relaxed holiday and the welcome pack was a lovely touch on arrival.
Glenbricken is superbly located 5 km from Clifden, overlooking a wonderful landscape of pastures, lakes and mountains. The owners are welcoming and always willing to help. The kitchen might have some more appliances, cutlery and the like to make it perfect.
Lakeview Cottage is a delightful cottage in a beautiful location. Agnes was an excellent host with the proporty in top condition.
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
Lovely house, spacious but cozy. Great for large family vacations, four good sized bathrooms and large bedrooms, all very well finished. Great kitchen and utility, huge garden. Lovely beach 600 m down the road, town 600 m the other way or a short drive. We loved the downstairs bathroom and bathrooms for the grandparents. Hosts extremely helpful and friendly.
House need a good clean, furniture dated, kitchen fine but needs a good clean, main bathroom nice but on suite off main bed room needs updating and a good shower put in. We put our own touches on the house for the week and had a lovely time
Spacious apartment in central Clifden easy for all the shops and pubs and for the Sky Road! The underground parking was very useful .
Thanks for a lovely stay at your apartment. Clifden is a great place to use as a base to visit the area!
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
We loved the locatipn of the house, which was also very spacious and well equipped for a party of 10 adults. Nevertheless, the bathrooms were not cleaned thoroughly (we've had to clean the showertubs before use). Some of the matresses should be replaced, ass well. And the main issue was the problem with hot water. There was no hot water in one of the bathrooms and the hot water in the kitchen and the ground floor bathroom only worked when the central heating was switched on. And when the CH was switched on, there was a radiator in the main bedroom that could not be switched off... And in gene...more
The house is is a beautiful remote location but close enough to small shops and amenities. Rooms are all large and very comfortable. Great kitchen, all you need, great fireplaces that use turf. We understand it is remote but there is no wifi and the option to use the payable dongle is not great. It took 20euro and within 1 hour of very light browsing the 20euro ran out. Don't waste your money on the dongle. Go to the cafe instead. The hosts are excellent. We had a great holiday. We would love to come back,
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Pauls house on the Sky Road. The house is fantastically spacious and is well equipped. We were a small bit disappointed that the house was a bit musty when we arrived but after leaving the doors and windows open for an hour ( and dashing into clifden to spend way too much on fancy candles from Whistlestop) all was well. Another small setback was that the downstairs bedroom was not made up and we didn't have sheets for that bed so we were squeezed into the upstairs room. However, the utterly magnificent setting glossed over any difficulties we had so that we ...more
It was a privilege to stay in this historic building and the location was excellent. Some minor things - there was a shortage of tea cups for the size of the group staying and I had to purchase my own and parking outside the house was very difficult - particularly when having to reverse out onto the street outside. Overall it was a good experience.
The house is very nice but we have some points: i.e. There is no toilet for general use and maybe some nice chairs for outside would be nice.
Lovely location with stunning views. Whilst the property was a bit dated it was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for 2 families with children. Martha the owner was lovely- welcoming and helpful. Fantastic stay in a beautiful part of Ireland.
Very beautiful cottage, very well located, magnificent view and very quite. The cottage is lovely, and the owner helpful when we needed ( we had a problem with the shower).
We stayed at the house for the week Dec 22 - Dec 29. The house is warm and the beds are comfortable.
We know this part of the west coast very well and love it. The Cottage is very homely and clean and the views are beautiful. For us the bedrooms were too small, we were a party of 5 adults, one room has three bunk beds in it! The master bedroom is small too. I think it would be better suited to a family with small children. We have rented many different cottages in the area and felt this was expensive in relation to others, paying a premium for the location I guess. But we did very much enjoy our stay.
The house was in an amazing location with lovely sea views and really quiet and peaceful. Our hostess was welcoming and helpful. There were many positives including the lovely garden with swings, and the front part of the house with deep window recesses. However, there were a few problems with the property. It's an old house which is mostly well maintained with a utility area with washer and dryer. While the kitchen was well equipped, the door of the gas oven had a broken seal which could have been easily fixed. There didn't seem to be facilities for recycling of waste as the owner collected...more
