We loved the beautiful home. It was super comfortable and the views were spectacular. We loved the sunsets . Maureen and Bernard were excellent hosts. The bedrooms were super comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is fabulous. The couches are super comfortable and great for place for an afternoon nap. Our boys loved the grounds. The wildflowers were gorgeous. Thank you for a beautiful week!
20 of us stayed at SUNNYBANK for a week to celebrate our Golden Wedding with an age range of 2 to 82. The house and surrounging area met with all our needs. The house provided excellent accommodation and amenities with plenty of room to accommodate our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would not hesitate to recommend SUNNYBANK to friends and family as a superb venue for a holiday or any celebration. Shane was most courteous and very helpful during our stay. Just wonderful!
This holiday home must rank among the best in Connemara. One counterargument: we wanted to stay longer but couldn't :-)
Hillside house is a gem. Located between Clifden and Ballyconneelly, in an idyllic spot in the blanket bog. The house was fully equipped and very well appointed. Martin couldn't have been nicer. Very relaxed. The house was spotless.
This is a beautifully appointed apartment in excellent location right in centre of Clifden. The apartment is modern, bright, spacious and has all the facilities that one needs for a comfortable stay. It has been newly and very tastefully decorated with a subtle maritime theme. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in rebooking. The staff at Connemara Lettings were also excellent and very helpful.
We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
This is a wonderful house …...plenty of outside space for children 3yrs and above to run around in. it is vey clean and spacious. the only drawback …..there is no washer/dryer...….which with children in Connemara is a necessity i think.
This house will accommodate six in comfort, but there were only two of us there for our stay. Kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with new appliances. There is a very effective pumped shower off the main bedroom, although the upstairs shower is not as effective. The house is one of the first as you enter the island, but it's still a fair distance from Bearna with it's shops and pubs. There are beautiful beaches on the island, but it's about 1.5 - 2km to each, so I'd recommend bringing bicycles if possible.
Fabulous property in an excellent location in the heart of Clifden. Travelling with a baby, we had everything we needed in the property, it was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Also had a very warm welcome from Pearl who was so kind to leave us some basic treats to start us off like homemade bread, butter milk and water which was greatly appreciated after our long journey. Highly recommend this property.
Fantastic house in an amazing location with great views. Very clean and well equipped. Lovely big bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Wonderful house, we are planning our next trip back. I would highly recommend it.
We had a lovely time at Paddy Carroll's cottage -- it is a magical spot deep in the heart of Ballyconneely. Melva was very helpful and the cottage was spotless. Many thanks for a great stay!
The setting of the house is breathtaking! It was absolute clean and the wifi worked within the whole house! And we were so pleased of the two ladies from Connemara Holiday Lettings, who welcomed us and gave us so useful hints. We hope to return to „ Once upon a tide“ soon.
Great if you're looking for peace and gorgeous landscapes. The house is cosy and set apart from civilization (but 45-minute drive to many beautiful places) The host, who lives only two houses away, is very welcoming and nice. We'll definitely stay there again if we can.
A well furnished apartment with fabulous sea views very helpful and friendly owners who went the extra mile to ensure a memorable holiday in beautiful Connemara.
My family and I stayed in the house for a month and it had everything we needed for our extended holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and updated. Location couldn’t be better...just a very short walk to shops, pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was easy from booking to check out. Loved our time here!
Fabulous house, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of very very small things, there is no Gym and the Piano is out of tune so if you're hoping to have a sing song just bring the guitars!!! To spite them very small things we had an amazing holiday. Be sure to go up to St John's well, which is only about 20 min walk from the house, to see the old Ruin and fabulous views of the lake.
Bríd was a lovely host and we had a beautiful stay. A perfect remote location with great views and all the self catering facilities required. Great wet room!
Amazing place to stay with stunning vista, just outside the unspoiled Clifden, a fantastic base from which to best explore the wonderful Conamara.
Beautiful House with plenty of room, ( there was 7 of us) beautiful views and in a delightful location. Your on your own but very much in the community. Newmans bar was a delight as was Sweeney's. I would highly recommend this property.
Fabulous apartment. Every need has been thought about. Lovely break in the West of Ireland. Would definitely recommend it.
Fabulous stay location was amazing beautiful white Sand beach and crystal clear water ! Highly recommend amazing stay thank You !
Nous garderons un bon souvenir de notre court séjour à CLIFDEN et dans le Connemara. Un hébergement très correct et des propriétaires très sympathiques .
Everything was just great except the lighting was very harsh. some small lamps would add a lot to the atmosphere.
Superb spacious comfortable clean peaceful house. Great outlook onto lake. Good base to explore Connemara and get away from it all. 19km to Clifden 9km to Roundstone 1km to nearest shop and bar Highly recommended.
Lovely clean house . Breathe taking views from front door. Pity we couldn't catch any fish all week but the walks n pub nearby made up for it.
The house is super comfortable with everything one could need . The bedrooms and beds very comfortable. Sitting areas with superb views . The beach is a dream and super safe for my grandchildren . One couldn’t find better accommodation anywhere.
Connemara Holiday letting were extremely helpful in finding us accommodation in our specified location at our last minute request. The agent was warm & friendly, polite & patient. Tigh Mhicilín would not have been on my radar in the past.... however I am glad that I did not miss this authentic Irish home from home experience. The cottage is a tardis! There are 3 bedrooms accommodating 6 people. Two bedrooms cleverly constructed upstairs with a mezzanine landing / walkway between. Very comfortable beds and beautiful woolen rugs and bed spreads available as extras. A downstairs double bedroom wi...more
The house is of a superb standard with everything you could wish for in a holiday home. It's furnished to a very high standard and has stunning views out over Galway Bay. It is also perfectly situated at Spiddal just 12 miles from the vibrant Galway City with fabulous pubs and traditional Irish music; The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher are about an hours drive south; and beautiful Connemara an hour to the north. The owner Siobhan lives nearby and was extremely helpful. We could not recommend this place more highly.
Excellent location. Truly lovely townhouse with every need catered for. Josephine could not have been more helpful. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.
would recommend this lovely bungalow for families. Owners were helpful and location was good. Tiled floors noisy so would suggest some felt stickers under furniture!
This was a lovely cottage - spacious, bright and perfect for a young family. Great garden too! The only two small negatives were that there was no gate at the entrance so we had to keep a really watchful eye on our 3 young children when they were in the garden in case they went near the busy main road. The kitchen would benefit from having more bowls/delph also as we kept running out of these, being a family of 5! All in all though, a lovely stay!
This is a beautiful property. So clean and comfortable ( and gorgeous fresh scones to greet you). The views from the property are breathtaking. Three very spacious bedrooms. In the bathroom a separate bath and shower and hot water all day long. The kitchen is very spacious and has all that you need for any baking requirements. Loads of space outside for the children to play or sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. the location is off the main road and you would need a car to stay in this property as it is between Barna and Spiddal. We stayed there for 2 nights with 3 older child...more
We stay every year in Galway for Christmas with 3 our 3 children. This property was really beautiful perfect location. Yvonne from Connemara let tings was fantastic help as always. Would absolutely book again
The perfect place to stay especially for older children with the freedom of wondering up to the village. Clifden quay is just gorgeous.
A quiet yet central location and well equipped apartment. Plenty of room for 4 people and we entertained 8 people for dinner with no problem.
So lucky to have found this wonderful, tranquil stone cottage right by the shore. It felt like we had our own private beach. We even got to watch dolphins playing in the bay. What an unbelievable treat. There was plenty of room for us (4 adults and 2 children). Clifden and all it's wonderful restaurants and bars was only a 10 minute drive away. If you like peace and solitude this is the rental for you. We hope to be back.
We stayed for a week in this beautiful well Equipped house. It was very peaceful , close to Clifden and had everything we could need. The house itself I’ve very spacious and has all the normal household items a family could need. The place was spotless with great consideration given to safety measures around cv19. WIFI reception was also very good. Both Connemara Lettings and the house owner were very helpful at every step. We really enjoyed our stay visiting all the local beaches, lakes , sights. The local Information brochures and information folder in the house were very useful. We l...more
We arrived to a lovely view of the bay...a warm house as Morgan (local), had put the heat on and left us a very substantial welcome pack, with plenty of tea, coffee, milk and even a lovely soda bread, butter and jams. We spent 4 lovely nights and days just chilling. The hound loved it too and was tuned into the surroundings by his 2nd day and happy to roam down the back as far as the stones to the sea shore would allow, (under his Mama's watchful eye of course!) All the beds were really solid and comfortable with lovely linen, plenty of towels as well. The boot room at the front door was a gre...more
Luxurious home -- everything was perfect: comfy beds, lovely sheets, finest appliances, and stunning views in every direction. Deeply relaxing weekend: loved hearing the sheep on the hillsides, the sea in the distance. My children were in bliss with the zipline and trampoline, loft, and oodles of games and books. Cosy fireplace and lovely terrace. The kitchen was fully set up for everything we needed. My only request would be a bit more information left out for some of the basics -- like how to operate the TV/DVD (we couldn't), how to operate an Aga stove (I figured it out on youtube), ...more
Great cottage for anyone looking for a quiet break in lovely Connemara surroundings. Good base to explore the wider area. All the facilities you need in the house for a comfortable stay. . Suits couples and families. Great food in pub/restaurant just across the road.
It was a really nice spacious cottage in a great location. It was perfect for us and we couldn't have asked for much more.
This is a terrific house in a great spot. It's also dog friendly which made it ideal for us. The only thing to be aware of is that it sits at the top of a very steep hill.
We had a great 2 weeks in Jackie’s Cottage. The house, location & view couldn’t have been better. Magic, special times.
This holiday house is very cosy and clean, given these strange times of the pandemic this was very reassuring for us and for anyone who may be considering this holiday home. The owner is taking all precautions to ensure any visitors as well as her family are safe. I was anxious of this before I went if I am honest, however when I felt very safe. The views from the house are breath-taking, you can even see the dolphins swim in the sea if your lucky. it is ideal for family's with a large garden area to play in. It is in a perfect location for exploring Connemara. with Kylemore Abbey 12 mins...more
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
Our second time in this apartment and it was perfect , everything we needed to make a comfortable stay . We hope to be back soon x
Great house for a large family to holiday. Had everything we needed and great views of the surrounding countryside. Would recommend to a fried anytime.
Very comfortable house. Great spot for some relaxation. Our dogs love being so close to the beach. Will definitely return again.
We spent an enjoyable week in this comfortable, well equipped house. We could walk into Clifden and even when the weather was not great the house is a great base.
Perfect house for larger group. Clean, cosy, huge..... we came the third time and will continue coming
A very nice holiday house. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and in perfect size for the family with two kids. In very good location to explore Connemara. Short walk to the town centre and the ocean site. Quiet at night, very private with a very friendly host.
2 families stayed 7 nights. Beautiful peoperty with everything you could need. The propieter was very helpful when needed but be honest everything is at hand. excellent location 10 minutes walk to the village which is delightful. Only a 15 min drive to Clifden if you need other provisions. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful place, amazing views from the wonderful window s. Very clean and modern. My relatives from nearby cottages called it the “posh” cottage.
Very enjoyable week, sadly we had rain every day, accommodation in a very convenient place. Walking distance to the town. Mary was very friendly
Aistara is a brilliantly located house very close to Ballyconneely village, with views of the sea. It is kept beautifully by Josephine and has 4 great bedrooms and very comfortable beds. Lot of storage, kitchen equipment, great heating and WiFi. It’s a super, tranquil, welcoming house with space for children, pets, teenagers and groups. Makes perfect home away from home to enjoy Connemara.
We are regular visitors to Connemara and have stayed in a number of self-catering properties - Wave Bay Cottage is by far the loveliest we've stayed in to date! Its a beautiful new house with top end furnishings. Its also in the most incredible location - I would recommend anyone staying here to bring binoculars to watch the seals and otters playing in the bay outside. The house was warm with wonderful underfloor heating and the showers excellent. Unfortunately the house hadn't been cleaned before our arrival - the beds appeared to have been changed but one had a large dirty mark on the sh...more
The house is really well equipped and Mary Mc Cann was most helpful. The local beaches are ideal for children. Clifden is close at hand and offers very good shopping and lots of restaurants to suit all pockets. While the weather was not great we had a mist memorable holiday
Four adults and three children under 5 = a lovely getaway! This house was the perfect set up for us. Plenty of space. Super location. We hit the beaches three days, explored Clifden and Roundstone and spent a day at Kylemore. Quiet roads near by were great for evening walks, cycles and runs. We cooked at the house every evening and found it well equipped.
If you want a central location, with free parking, then this is reasonable choice. However, the apartment was a bit grubby, and tired in most aspects. Little character, and in need of a refresh. Beds uncomfortable, bedding old & stained. Directions to place were poor. Contact with agent was excellent, we had issue with washing machine that was resolved very quickly. Would be a reasonable place with some care.
It's all about the weather in Connemara. This house has a beautiful view of the bay and mountains. I needed a lot if space for a trailer and three cars and it was perfect for me. Very very clean and hard pillows and beds. Also perfect for me. I liked this house and I have rented several in the area.
We had such a lovely stay here that we decided to extend it. It's a very comfortable home from home and so close to the sea. John, the owner, is a gentleman and very accommodating. We'll definitely be back!
You couldn’t ask for a better location. Harbour View Townhouse is in the heart of the city center in Clifden. Spacious and warm, this home provides all amenities.
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
The apartment was very nice all mod cons washing machine dishwasher etc and right in the centre of town it was very Comfortable only thing I would say that I didn't like they had painter's in painting outside of the apartment both mornings early and we weren't told before we stayed
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
It was very good overall, I could have rated it excellent but the sound from the pressure pump upstairs was causing trouble. I hope the house owner will take care of it.
A peaceful location almost on the wild Atlantic ocean, Aillebrack no 3 is a super holiday destination. The house conservatory overlooks a small loch at the base of Doon Hill providing wonderful scenic views of the Connemara mountains. My wife & I have visited this small holiday complex for 20 years. Need I say more?
Stayed for 1 week with family and friends. Kids had a great time... Facilities basic but all room nice and we didnt want for anything.... , rooms and living/kitchen areas nice...small cooking area off kitchen but not a problem for cooking for 12 . House is on a lovely quiet country lane surrounded by farms and stoned walled fields..Picturesque lake views of lough mask are only at end of the lane with historic ruins of Balimaine Abbey... (10 to 15 min walk or 3 min in car). Shore fly fishing here not great, but boats and guides readily available locally. Cong river and lough corrib also...more
We recently had a lovely stay in this beautiful part of the world. This house is tastefully presented and very comfortable with some nice touches like a Nespresso machine, good linen and towels. Only minor quibbles: we weren’t told the number of the house and I had asked for a note of what would be there and what wouldn’t in terms of basics but didn’t receive that. Would stay again.
Comfortable house in beautiful surroundings. Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful scenery in the area in range of lovely beaches.
A very comfortable cottage with everything we needed with a fantastic view/location. Plenty of homely touches. Good WiFi. Well stocked.
House need a good clean, furniture dated, kitchen fine but needs a good clean, main bathroom nice but on suite off main bed room needs updating and a good shower put in. We put our own touches on the house for the week and had a lovely time
Lovely convenient location and loads of space for all the family. Very comfortable for all. Will be back hopefully
Stayed with my husband we book with Yvonne every year. Very helpful perfect property for us walking distance to everything . definitely be back again
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
The views over the tidal bay is a one of a kind stunner The absolute quiet outdoors makes it a 5 stars stress killer. Spacious cottage but make sure to bring your own “starter pack” of goods (spices, dishwashing soap, tea, coffee, sugar, etc..) probably due to COVID 19 there is nothing apart from good quality hardware. Water pressure, heat, fireplace and other amenities are very pleasant. Internet is on the very very slow side, so streaming netflix with your own devices is dodgy, But great flat screen tv with plenty of hdmi ports. Did I mention the views ? They are an absolute show...more
The house is is a beautiful remote location but close enough to small shops and amenities. Rooms are all large and very comfortable. Great kitchen, all you need, great fireplaces that use turf. We understand it is remote but there is no wifi and the option to use the payable dongle is not great. It took 20euro and within 1 hour of very light browsing the 20euro ran out. Don't waste your money on the dongle. Go to the cafe instead. The hosts are excellent. We had a great holiday. We would love to come back,
The house is very nice but we have some points: i.e. There is no toilet for general use and maybe some nice chairs for outside would be nice.
This is a great house! Dog friendly. Well equipped kitchen with great electric range with two ovens. Efficient heating system and showers in most rooms. Lots of channels on tv! Shame there is no WiFi though. Not that that would matter to us, but kids would miss it. Safe beaches on the doorstep and within easy drive of Oliver’s pub for great food & shop in Cleggan. Horse trekking centre is also on edge of village. Take a trip on the ferry to Innishboffin!
My wife and I are regular visitors to Connemara and booked Rossadilisk Cottage knowing the beauty of the area. The information on the website stated that the cottage was part of another property and previous feedback suggested that the bed might be small. The owner greeted us without any warmth. We live in Northern Ireland and have English accents. The first thing he said was,’Why have you got a Northern Irish address!’ We felt he was rude and abrupt. He mansplained the accommodation and made himself comfortable on the sofa as he explained the TV remote despite us explaining several ti...more
