The Granary sleeping 8 in four bedrooms overlooks the stream and meadows. Large glazed windows make the most of the sunny aspect.

The kitchen dining area with French doors leading into a secluded garden has a large table
seating 14/16. Chat relax and cook together. Your party can also enjoy each others company in the airy double height living space.

Two of the bedrooms are at ground level one of which is en suite whilst the other has a wet room.

A wonderful location for a family get together with warm and friendly hosts

We were delighted to confirm a last minute bank holiday stay at The Granary at Kempley Barns. I had a very helpful conversation with the lovely Pet who provided answers to our questions and a warm welcome. An impressive entrance to Kempley Barns grounds began with a stunning gravel driveway overlooking beautiful pear orchards...it was quite a sight within the Herefordshire countryside. We were greeted by Pet and Bob with their lovely four legged friends, Nellie and Florrie and welcomed to our home for the weekend. The Granary was perfect and provided for our every need, from a well equipped kitchen, outside furniture and luxurious bed linen, all beautifully presented. The younger members of our party aged 16 and 10 year old twins were quickly directed to the play barn which provided a basketball ring, pool table and cricket nets, along with the star of the weekend, the fantastic indoor pool....this was well used throughout our stay and one of the main attractions for booking.
We were free to explore the very ample grounds of Kempley Barns, which provided both privacy and openness in one. Inside the house were a numbers of board games to use and a television (the latter wasn't really a requirement for our stay). The bedrooms provided storage to unpack and the Granary had several bathrooms, including 2 en-suites, each bedroom had unique features. The living spaces, including the dining room, were spacious and comfortable for our party (8 in total) and great for gathering together to eat or relax in the evening. We loved our stay, something for each of us and all of us. We also enjoyed chatting with Bob and learning about the surrounding area. We very much hope to visit again in the future. Thank you.

Our party comprised two grandparents, two parents and three children (9,7,5). The adults without exception loved the location and setting, especially the remoteness and the peace and quiet. All of the facilities that we needed for relaxation and self-catering were fine, everything worked, and we appreciated the care that the hosts had taken. Bob and Pet are charming and welcoming hosts with interesting tales to tell. The children loved the daily interaction with the friendly dogs, and the trampoline was the highlight of the play barn (along with an old-school wooden cart that saw some downhill action). Everyone made daily use of the pool too. As far as outings were concerned, we were sometimes constrained by the late August weather, but we went to and enjoyed Goodrich Castle, Symonds Yat (Butterfly House and Boat Trip), Gloucester City Museum and Cathedral, Beechenhurst Sculpture Trail, Clearwell Caves and the Perrygrove Steam Railway. Puzzlewood, bike rides and canoeing had also been on our list - maybe another year! There is plenty here to occupy a family for a week or two. We used TV very little, but it is here, with wi-fi too if needed. It would also be easy to find local walks. All the logistics worked fine - communications were both friendly and efficient throughout the process - and we have returned from Kempley very relaxed and with lots of happy memories. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful and relaxing break at Kempley Barns, staying in The Granary for the week following Good Friday. Bob and Pet were great hosts, helpful and friendly throughout and able to share all sorts of interesting info about the farm and local area. The play barn was a particular hit with the children. Literally an open sided barn, dusty floor and all, looking out over the glorious garden and filled with facilities ranging from table-tennis, pool table, trampoline, table-football, badminton
cricket nets and much more - also a rowing machine where I spent several hours enjoying the views and keeping an eye on the kids. The swimming pool was great also and we enjoyed daily dips. The accommodation was spacious, really well furnished and equipped with ample of everything we needed. We soon relaxed into the barn and all found favourite cosy places, both inside and in the beautiful garden and grounds. Our group comprised in total 7 adults and 5 children rotating through the week and everyone voiced how much they'd enjoyed our time at the Kempley. A lovely, lovely relaxing base from which to explore the many superb local attractions.

Our family stayed at The Granary for Easter school holidays and had a wonderful time. Our hosts Petula and Bob were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our children 3 and 8 years had a glorious time collecting fresh eggs for breakfast from the hens, playing on the swings across a stream, swimming in the warm indoor pool and running around looking at the wildlife or calling for the two gorgeous and very friendly dogs at the farm! And on the one rainy day we spent time in the open barn where there was table football, a big trampoline and cricket nets to keep them busy for an hour or so, plus the Granary kitchen is very well equipped and we made cookies too. The week went so quickly and my children were so sad to leave. If you ever get the chance to visit Herefordshire then definitely book at stay here at Kempley Barns. The location is idyllic - so peaceful and yet a stones throw from great attractions to keep the kids ( and adults) entertained.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Kempley Barns in August 2019. I found the set up just perfect. Idyllic surroundings and a luxuriously furnished home - especially the bedding. Things so thoughtfully set up - the Play Barn/Barbie/swimming pool and Fire Pit a big hit with us. Thank you both so much for a very special time.

I booked a family weekend away at Kempley Barns. From day dot Pet and Bob were at hand to make sure the booking was completed without any issues. They made our stay very comfortable. The property itself was cosy and clean. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The swimming pool is an added bonus. It seems as it nothing is impossible for Bob and Pet. Thank you again guys and we look forward to visiting you again soon.
