Six individually furnished cottages located on a riverside farm. Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing on our own stretch of the Tweed. All weather tennis court. Excellent walking and abundant wildlife (otters, badgers, deer and fantastic variety of birds) all on the farm. Five minutes drive from historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and excellent beaches. Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Cheviot Hills and Scottish Borders towns all within 45 mins drive.
Cottages were ideal for anyone with mobility issues as the one we used had a downstairs bathroom as well as bedroom downstairs
We had a wonderful holiday!
Warm welcome and shown how everything work.
Short walk and you are on the banks if the river tweed with lovely walks.
Lots of places to visit and things to do in the area.
We had our dog with us and enjoyed both river and coastal walks.
Well equipped cottage , spotlessly clean, great shower which is always a bonus. Comfortable bed.
Would recommend and we will look to return in the future
The owners provided a warm reception and excellent hospitality. The cottage was clean, snug, comfortable and ideal for the 4 of us. We enjoyed an exhilerating start to the week on the Berwick Classic Rally and relaxed for the remainder of our stay with either trips and meals out or feet up with a good book and a glass of wine. We are already looking forward to returning again in 2023.
South bells shiel has many positives and few negatives. I have visited the same place on and off over fifteen years and can say that over this time it has not changed much and also I would not have returned so many times if I had not enjoyed my visits. This is due to the effort that the owners have put in to keep the inside as it looks outside on the theme of a "small cottage by the river". This was our fourth stay at West Ord, and we once again enjoyed the warm and friendly welcome from our hosts. As previously we found the accommodation to be to the same comfortable standard as previously, With some updates from last year. We were again helped with advice on places to visit and where to eat. It is our intention to consider West Ord as a possible destination another year.
We have stayed at this property several times and keep coming back! The cottage is of high standard and the welcome friendly and warm. Situated on its own on the banks of the River Tweed, it is an excellent place to relax. Highly recommended.
