Six individually furnished cottages located on a riverside farm. Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing on our own stretch of the Tweed. All weather tennis court. Excellent walking and abundant wildlife (otters, badgers, deer and fantastic variety of birds) all on the farm. Five minutes drive from historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and excellent beaches. Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Cheviot Hills and Scottish Borders towns all within 45 mins drive.
As usual a great two week stay. A short stroll along a quiet road to the banks of the Tweed. Walk along the Tweed to Horncliffe and the Fishers Arms pub. We enjoyed Berwick (on one occasion had a taxi - took 8 minutes and very reasonable price). Bought lobsters from DR Collin in Eyemouth and enjoyed seeing the seals in the harbour. Morning at Alnwick Castle (the castle itself is well worth the entry price). So much to see in the area. Everything we wanted at the cottage and the enclosed garden great for children and dogs.
Warm & friendly welcome as always from hosts Carol & Sandy. Slept in most mornings as area is so peaceful and quiet. Cottage wants for nothing and has beautiful views of the river Tweed and surrounding countryside.Watched an Osprey most days fishing on the river, loved our stay!.
This is our 10th stay at West Ord.
Says it all really…
A stunning, peaceful location, set on the River Tweed about 3 miles outside of Berwick-upon Tweed.
Geary Shiel is all on one level, comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
The wood burner is so cosy on those chillier evenings…we will be back again xx
