We booked South Bells Shiel after spending a wonderful week last Christmas at another one of the West Ord Cottages. Our autumn break did not disappoint! Carol is a marvellous hostess, firstly accommodating a diary clash for us, and then being so hospitable in welcoming us to the cottage. The Shiel stands about thirty feet from the River Tweed. We wanted solitude and peace and we certainly got it. The cottage is compact and with a blazing fire in the living room, cosy and welcoming. And the roses in the window were a lovely touch! During the whole September 2023 we have stayed at West Ord Geary Shiel. We have been very happy to spend one more time in the well equipped Cottage. We are guests of the Lang family for over twenty years. Our hosts are very kind and no matter what comes along, they do their utmost to help and find a solution.
