I only have good things to say about our stay at Coulscott House. The Alesbury cottage was perfect for our family of 4. It was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We were able to enjoy a movie night on Saturday as the cottage has access to Netflix. The facilities onsite are incredible: we were able to book the pool twice a day (booking required due to Covid-restrictions) and had it for ourselves; the kids loved the outside playground; and feeding the animals was an experience that we all enjoyed (especially bottle-feeding the baby lambs). The cottages are locate...more
Excellent location and accommodation with plenty for children and parents to enjoy, while the grandparents can choose to join in or just relax in the hot-tub! Our second visit and very likely not our last.
The Old Farmhouse was a really good place to stay, we are very pleased that we booked it. Members of our family stayed in The Georgian House during the same week (see corresponding review). The facilites on site for families are very good with numerous animals to feed; play equipment including Pirate Ship, "Wendy House", climbing frames and trampoline. A super swimming pool is on site and each of the properties had a good Hot Tub (that was serviced often during our stay). The venue is on the side of a hill - overlooking a beautiful valley (Combe), fantastic views. There are plenty of...more
I am reluctant to praise Coulscott too much in case so many people book that there are no houses left for our return. The customer service was wonderful and so friendly and welcoming. Alice was always attentive and helpful, Roy made animal feeding a delight for our grand daughter and a source of local information. The cleaning staff were also positive. The site is secluded and beautiful, the pool was the biggest draw for us and did not disappoint. The cottages are tasteful and comfortable. We will return next year.
We were six adults so more than enough room for all of us but plenty to spare. Couldn't fault the Gerogian House for facilities or comfort. The games room, hot tub & BBQ were well used & just what we needed. The separate pool was an added bonus with the booking arrangments simple to use with plenty of available slots (but we were there outside of the school holidays). Alice was a perfect host making sure we settled in ok. We would have no hesitation in returning for another stay & would definitely recommend to others.
This was a repeat stay, and we booked for next year before we left, that probably says everything. It just keeps better. The cottages and grounds are amazing, and paradise for children. You can visit the animals whenever or take part in feeding at set times. It's a little out of the way, in terms of walking to places, but a 5 min drive to the nearest cove (a lovely family safe beach) and Ilfracombe and Woolacombe are close too. Lots of other attractions in North Devon are very reachable if you want to leave the site but you could stay there the whole time and never be bored (we have to ...more
