Shanklin Beach Napier is a 1st floor 2-bedroom purpose-built apartment with panoramic sea and beach views with a balcony style walkway outside the entrance door. Sleeping 4 guests and situated right opposite the sandy beaches, in the popular seaside resort of Shanklin, this accommodation has double and twin bedrooms and is ideal for a seaside family holiday.

We had a lovely holiday exploring the island and the Napier Apartment is in a perfect location.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with several aspects, particularly the cleanliness. The apartment is in need of a Deep Clean. The skirting boards, and around the toilet were very dirty. The kitchen rubbish bin was filthy when we removed the bin liner. The net curtain in the dining area needed a good wash. We couldn't see through it and it was difficult to draw back as a it was hooked up into the rusty wire at the top. The microwave was dirty inside. The wooden table was stained. The insides of the kitchen cupboards needed a thorough wipe.
The other issue was the single beds. They are ideal for children but the mattresses are very thin and really not very comfortable for adults. The double bed is very comfortable. It would be helpful to have bedside lights.
The apartment is adequately equipped but it is small and storage space is limited.

WE wish to make sure we have covered all points particularly the cleanliness. *The apartment is in need of a Deep Clean. The skirting boards, and around the toilet were very dirty. The kitchen rubbish bin was filthy when we removed the bin liner* There were a few areas that the cleaner was not attending to. We have asked for a couple of areas to be improved. We believe our new cleaners are of a better standard. We have had no subsequent poor comments *The net curtain in the dining area needed a good wash. We couldn't see through it and it was difficult to draw back as a it was hooked up into the rusty wire at the top.* The hook was slightly rusty. The curtains were not that bad but not new. However, we have replaced the whole curtain and the hooks and wire. It is all new. *The wooden table was stained.* This is a natural Oak table (not polished) it does have a few marks but not badly stained. Possibly it wasn't cleaned well. We believe there is nothing required there. *The insides of the kitchen cupboards needed a thorough wipe.* We do a deep clean ourselves each spring, to check these items. We have found nothing we could ask the cleaners to cover. Again,, perhaps this clean was missed before this guest , and following it was done? *The other issue was the single beds. They are ideal for children but the mattresses are very thin and really not very comfortable for adults. * The apartment has been reconfigured, and these beds have been disposed of, although they did have new mattresses. There are now Bunk beds *The double bed is very comfortable. It would be helpful to have bedside lights.* That bed was the oldest. In the reconfiguration, a new high-quality bed has been installed ...and new high-quality bedside tables with touch lamps. The bunk beds have individual clip-on (rechargeable) lamps.
