This lovely 2 bedroom apartment, in an elevated location, enjoys spectacular views over Shanklin, Sandown and the English Channel it is a truly beautiful retreat.

Die Aussicht ist einfach fantastisch. Besser als in unseren Vorstellungen. Ein Fernglas sollte nicht vergessen werden. Wir haben uns schnell eins bestellt und liefern lassen.
Zu beobachten: Eichhörnchen, Vögel, Boote und die Kinder sind überzeugt Delfine gesehen zu haben.
Die Einrichtung des App. könnte ein Upgrade bekommen und ein bisschen ansprechende Dekoration, doch es verfügt über alles was man benötigt. Bei der Aussicht und dem herrschaftlichen Garten leicht darüber hinweg zu schauen.
Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit dort.
Morgens Sonnenaufgänge(wenn man früh genug dran ist) und wenn man am Abend im Sessel re. vorm Erkerfenster saß konnte man einen Teil des Sonnenuntergangs beobachten.
Sehr zu empfehlen Restaurant „The best dressed crab“ in Bembridge. The seafoodplatter war lecker. Reservierung nötig. Nicht vergessen ein paar Wanderungen einzuplanen.

Beautiful peaceful location on 2nd floor of old mansion. Views out to sea are breathtaking. Happy to reccomend this property.
Weather was very good when we were there in Sept. You can walk into Shanklin within few minutes and in the other direction you can pick up the coast path walk to Ventnor from road outside property.

Stunning views from the apartment. Quiet location. Good space for a couple. good wifi.
Storage space in second bedroom very limited.
Good appliances but lacked enough cutlery particularly if booked for four people.
Customers need to be made aware that toilet and kitchen rolls and washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are not provided which we found surprising.

Our recent stay at Sea View was amazing, the appartment was cosy, but everything paled into insignificance compared to the views of the stunning coastline of the Isle of Wight. I can even overlook the rated dated procedure of the keys being posted to me ans having to drop them back after we had checked out!

A lovely apartment. Fantastic views lovely gardens and good location and plenty of car parking space.
The only issue we had was wardrobe space The wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom was a child's wardrobe and wasn't tall enough for adult clothing and the wardrobe in the main bedroom was full of stuff leaving very little space.
Some of the furniture was old and tired and could do with replacing

A real haven and worth climbing the hill for. Perfect for solo travellers. Clean and comfortable. Make sure you bring a few dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid and bin liners as there were none provided at the property.

This is our 3rd stay at Seaview. We keep coming back because of the fantastic view.
However this flat needs lots of TLC. Bathroom was a bit grim with black mould around bath.
Window was cleaner this year so we were pleased about that. However when open the windows, windowsills (where window was and outside windowsill) were so dirty ..full of cobwebs and dead bugs !! Couldn’t open the window in small bedroom because dead bugs & dirt were coming onto bed. We think no-one clean them.
Please clean windowsills inside & out, and get rid of black mould around bath.
Thank you for painting outdoor furniture, however the parasol was broken and unable to use it ..such a shame.
Still, We had a lovely time there overlooking beautiful views and seeing red squirrels running around the garden was so special.
Look forward to coming back again.

We booked a last minute holiday and were very happy to have found SeaView. The staff were very helpful in sorting out the keys etc out of hours. The location and the grounds are beautiful. The apartment itself is comfortable and has all the essentials.
It could be slightly cleaner, but otherwise all good.

Had a nice holiday, thankyou. Lucky with the weather some days, the flat got warm in the sun, but when wet or windy, the old windows rattled, and it got cold and felt damp. TV and hi fi are dated. Seating bit uncomfortable. Nice sea view, on cliff, top of a steep hill.

The only issue was the standard of the cleaning. Once we had cleaned the child’s hand print off the main window, removed the sticky sweets from behind the furniture, brushed some of the food debris from the cracks in the sofa and got over the stained and grubbby cushions and sticky floor, everything was fine. Having said that though, the apartment was comfortable, the views fantastic and the position spectacular. We would definitely stay there again, but with the knowledge that if you want it properly cleaned you may have to spend an hour or so doing it yourself on arrival.

Lovely location with amazing views. We really enjoyed the balcony.

The flat was functional and served its purpose but lacked that home-from-home feel.

There was a terribly unpleasant, musty smell from the moment we stepped inside. We tried opening windows to air it and spraying air fresheners, but just couldn't shift the odour. Is there a hidden damp problem somewhere? It didn't help that there is absolutely nowhere to dry wet towels etc and the fan in the bathroom was totally ineffectual.

The wifi was very intermittent but probably not a lot the host can do about that.

All the same we really loved our stay on the IOW and will definitely return, but probably to a different apartment.

It was clean and tidy with modern facilities. Beautiful views from every angle! The only downside is that the blinds were not blocking the light in the morning. It would be great if blackout blinds are fitted.

House sits high up on steep hill with fantastic view across the Island and mainland and a large Garden with plenty of seating and views.
Property is easy to find with plenty of parking, 1st floor apartment no lift access but carpeted big stairs to apartment.
Very clean and light Apartment bathroom is on the small side but usable, nicely equipped Kitchen all appliances you need and utensils.
Its a fare walk to the town or beach around 10 mins down hill just a hard walk back needed a few stops (unfit)

This is our 2nd stay at Seaview.
We love to stay here because of the stunning views.
It is a shame the windows and windowsills (outside) are so dirty and full of cobwebs & dead bugs.
It was bad 2 years ago and even worse this time.
Luckily the weather was good, so windows were open most of the time so we could still enjoy the beautiful sea views.
Outside table & chairs were such a state. (We did mention it 2 years ago) But we were really pleased with new addition of a parasol !! We could sit out without too hot. Thank you for that. Also we woke up at 4am as bedrooms were so bright (blind doesn't work well) You need eye mask!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

They have discovered that the window cleaner has failed them and has not completed the required cleans. We have now checked the property and the windows have been now cleaned. The owner is looking into the patio furniture. The windows are fitted with black out blinds behind the vertical blinds, apologises these were not apparent to you. We’ve stayed here numerous times over many years as we love the apartment due to it’s location. One of the main attractions is the view as seen in the promotional photos, however, these photos are several years old and the windows have not been cleaned in that time such that they are frankly filthy. Therefore, the outlook is less “sea view’ but more ‘permanent fog’.
Such a shame to witness the deterioration of such a fine holiday property. I’m sure it could be rectified quickly.

Glorious views and lovely grounds. However, we arrived in March when it was cold and windy. The windows and doors in the flat are poor fitting and rattled loudly, letting in a lot of cold air. What a relief when the wind dropped. Bathroom is very cramped. Internet was unusable during our stay. We could not even load emails. Had to use a mobile phone as a hub.

It was a lovely flat. it needs a big time spring clean as it was so dusty, windows were very dirty, sheets not properly fitted.
Also no clear info about anything. the information book was few years old and dusty.
Getting and dropping the key is not good.
No beach around. 2 acre boring unnecessary garden.
Basic toiletry needed.

We too were concerned about the cleanliness issues raised, sadly these were not brought to our attention during your stay, so we were not able to verify and put right your concerns directly. We have contacted the owners housekeeper to investigate and act upon these matters. In response to the keys unfortunately the owner is not able to have a key safe at the property so we usually post these to guests. However as your booking was made only a few days prior to arrival and with the postal service not being reliable at the time, we agreed that you would collect keys from our office which is a 5 minute drive from the property. We are happy for keys to be returned either through the post or to our office directly. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at this very popular apartment. We hope you discovered the lovely beach approximately 10 minutes walk away. Beyond the garden to the rear of the property is a very steep cliff edge. We understand from our telephone conversation that you would like to return to the property again in the future. It is very busy with bookings so we advise early booking. We would be delighted to have you back.

We had a very relaxing four weeks at this beautiful property.

The sea views made it very interesting, as thee were so many vessels passing around the coast-everyday there was a different view.

The only negative we could mention was the lounge suite. Because it was leather it didn't give any support and we found ourselves having to constantly readjust the cushions, but apart from that, everything else was perfect

The apartment has breathtaking views across shanklin and sandown bay as far as culver cliff. It really is, quite possibly, the best view on the Isle of Wight.

The apartment is situated in a very quiet part of Shanklin, but is at the top of a hill, so be mindful if you have mobility issues or do not have a car.

We've stayed at Seaview twice now, so there's a recommendation in itself. The location is lovely, with the balcony overlooking the shared gardens and then out to sea. 2Mbit/s broadband for internet-starved kids, which held up for video streaming. Well-equipped kitchen. Decent covid preparations.

Comfortable flat...great view........the only drawback was the antiquated heating system....there was no obvious way of turning on the heating, so we had to call the handy man who explained it to us.

the apartment is snug in a beautiful location overlooking Shanklin bay. it is fitted out with all mod cons. The only negative is to get back from either the beach or old village on foot is a real slog up a very steep hill. Definitely a location that requires using your car most of the time. Other than that it is really good value for money.

An excellent location for a relaxing holiday. The apartment was well appointed, warm and comfortable. The views of the channel were spectacular and most certainly enhanced our time there.
We would certainly be prepared to book it again.

A lovely apartment with the most amazing views. The apartment had everything we needed, apart from a clothes airer. A great base for exploring the island, with nothing more than about 45 minutes drive away. Sandown within walking distance, either along the coastal path or along the seafront. The things we really enjoyed were St Catherine's lighthouse, Osborne House, walking with alpacas, a highly recommended experience, and the crazy golf in Shanklin. The beaches we visited were Shanklin, Compton Bay and Sandown. Can recommend hiring sun loungers etc from Steve's beach, Sandown. Be prepared for lots of hills in most of the coastal towns. With the fantastic weather we had, there are plenty of things to do whether relaxing on the beach or visiting the attractions. Can definitely recommend Sea View

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seaview in Luccombe, the view from all of the rooms is breathtaking and the location is idyllic.
The apartment is situated about a 10 minute walk from Old Shanklin, although the walk back may be slightly longer, as it’s situated about half way up a steep hill, but you can’t have spectacular views without being at a good height.
The apartment is of a very good standard and we all thought it offered excellent value for money .
We would definitely stay there again

this property has the most amazing views and perfect location. however there were some issues. The shower did not work correctly at all it was reported and dealt with as much as it could be. Also lid of the bin in bathroom was broken which was immediately replaced. The blinds were all broken, the tiles in the bathroom floor were coming away and the grout was picked up on feet. The television control did not work correctly needing batteries replacing from other controls which looked as if most had already been changed. I feel that with the location of this property these details need to be resolved and ( I am being well looked after) attitude would help it become a most desirable property.If issues were sorted would certainly recommend .

So glad that you enjoyed the most stunning views from this apartment. We acted quickly with regards to the shower which needed replacing and I believe you informed our plumber that you did not want this replaced during your stay. I can confirm that the shower has now been replaced, the blinds are in the process of being repaired and we are also having a new flooring put down in the bathroom. I have also instructed our contractor to replace the batteries in the remote controls. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

The weather was very fine, sunny most days, but some strong coastal breezes, so pleasant. IOW has great family memories so always good visiting the places again. Beware though the council is no longer toilet friendly to parents and older visitors. Generally in the flat all ok, but really does now need a new electric shower . Would use flat again, thankyou.

When opening the door of our holiday apartment there was a lovely aroma from some strategically placed incense. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. There was an information folder and Visitor's book which was helpful to find the best places to eat and visit. The views from every window and balcony was of the sea. We were up early enough to catch a photo of the sunrise. The only niggly thing about this apartment was that the bathroom was very small and you had to reach behind you for the toilet roll. Also the button on the shower was hard to push on and off. We tended to drive down Luccombe Road and park up to go on walks through Shanklin and the beach. Luccombe Road was a bit steep to walk up and we did it only once. We had a fantastic holiday visiting many tourist spots and eating in some fantastic pubs and restaurants all very reasonably priced. The weather was great but we love the isle of Wight and there is always so much todo rain or shine.

Positives:
Sea View certainly had the wow factor in terms of panoramic sea views from every windows. Beautiful.

The apartment was well-equipped - albeit a little quirky with its spiritually uplifting memes around the place. Although the apartment was decorated in a modern style to a good finish, it sported an old-fashion hi-fi stack system - complete with record player which jammed halfway across each record, and a selection of mid-20th century LPs. A nice touch that made us smile.

We were happy and comfortable with the facilities. The place was clean and everything worked to our satisfaction. The equipment information pack was also very comprehensive. We loved the location and we'd definitely book the same apartment again :). For more positive info., see my wife's entry in the visitors' book.

Minor point:
The TV area appeared to have been re-plugged to a far-away mains outlet by someone - possibly to free up closer mains sockets for a visitor's Playstation or something - causing a rats'-nest of cables to spill out to the left of the TV and some seriously over-stretched cables. The TV area needs to be repatched by your maintenance people as it looks a real mess and lets down the appearance of an otherwise beautiful lounge.

Important point about fire alarm testing procedures:
The (very loud) fire alarm went off for about 5 seconds on Wednesday, 15th May at around 10:30 a.m. Apart from making us jump out of our skins, this left us in a quandary; should we vacate the building? And, no "all clear" had been given so we were left in limbo.

Luckily, my wife - a former Health & Safety Officer - noticed that there were fire alarm call points outside each flat. This suggested that a complete fire alarm system was installed throughout the property with alarms in each individual flat. She noticed a log book for recording fire alarm testing on the window ledge by the main entrance and, sure enough, there was an entry to show that the alarm system had been tested a few minutes earlier - but no warning had been given. Guests should be warned when alarms are about to be tested - and given the all-clear when the test is over.

My wife said there ought to be a notice somewhere in the flat to let guests know that the fire alarm is tested on a regular basis and that when it is tested it will sound for a short burst only and there is no need to evacuate. It should also state that if the alarm sounds continuously then it is probably a real fire and the flat should be evacuated. There is a sign on the wall just inside the main entrance to The Priory that states this but I doubt very much that anyone even notices it, let alone reads it.

Fantastic flat - light and airy with spectacular panoramic views over the sea. Shanklin is a lovely venue - we cycled along the front with the kids to Sandown. Beaches are lovely and clean, lots of cafes/restaurants to eat in. A real family feel. The approach to the flat is steep but that didn't bother us as we are active and like the exercise! Was also lovely to have a garden for the kids to play in and a patio to sit out and have a morning cuppa or lunch, again with the amazing views.

Another visit to the iow which always looks great in the sunshine, we had very good weather!,and enjoyed ourselves, but austerity cuts over the years are evident again, it’s getting serious now though, and sadly IOW getting like other places, blighted by second homes, how long before visitors no longer welcomed.

We stayed mid winter quite difficult to keep warm as windows need renewing. Also flooring creeks badly in the lounge, not a problem for us but would be unbearable for anyone staying in the flat below. That said the view was great and I’m sure it’s super in the summer sitting on the balcony. However we were generally very happy with the accommodation.
