Shanklin Manor is a spacious duplex two bedroom apartment set in the town’s prestigious manor house surrounded by parkland.

Dating back to the Doomsday Book, the old manor house has been a farm and home to the lords of the manor over the years and after being purchase by the council, a hotel for the underprivileged then a luxury hotel. It has now been extensively renovated and restored to bring it back to its former glory, as well as meet the demands of the modern world.

We found the cottage to be just as described. The cottage is well located to get onto all major roads of the island. Located close but outside of Shanklin, giving access to all of the conveniences in the village, after a very short and pleasant walk.
The area is extremely quite, with plenty of pleasant walks in the area.
every thing in the cottage was in really good condition, however the four chairs provided to sit out on the grass, were very poor quality and unstable. Perhaps they could be upgraded.
Other than the chairs, we found the cottage, the interior and fitments excellent.

Lovely location with Shanklin village a short walk away but a peaceful pretty setting. Accommodation is modern, comfortable clean and has plenty of room. Ample parking. Lots of very different walking routes with plenty of tea rooms and cafes along some routes.

The property was very spacious, beautifully presented like a show home! Kitchen and bathrooms excellent. The immediate hot water in the showers wonderful! Plenty of storage in the bedrooms
An excellent, very detailed information pack about the property.
For me, I found it to be rather clinical and formal with everything white throughout.
A disappointment was the lack of private outdoor space to enjoy relaxing and eating outside. Small outdoor folding chairs were provided .

The accommodation is set in a beautiful location close to Old Shanklin. It is very modern and well equipped. The fittings and furnishings like new and the whole place is in excellent condition throughout. Could do with some ambient lighting such as a table or standard lamp to soften the lighting in the lounge.

A superbly appointed, well equipped duplex apartment in lovely tranquil grounds within 5 minutes walk of Shanklin Old Town. A perfect base for visiting the many attractions on the IoW. Would definitely stay again!

We loved 12 The Manor, Shanklin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Our booking was for 4 adults, comprising 2 couples. The accommodation is very spacious the photos don't really do it justice. The location is quiet but less than a 10 minute walk from central Shanklin. We have been to the Island for many holidays this was one of our favourite places to stay.

A decent size property in a great location let down by a few things. Many of these have already been highlighted by previous tenants in the visitors book, some over a year ago. Double bed too small & uncomfortable, lack of long mirrors, insufficient towel rails, insufficient hangers, no coat hooks in the entrance hall, various lights not working, supplied torches need batteries

Thank you for your feedback, we welcome guests thoughts and the owner is more than happy to consider changes where needed. The double bed is a standard 4'6'' double and has had many good reviews and notes from guests in the past, so this is the first time that we are aware of, that is has been said it is too small and uncomfortable but it will be looked into. The owner does not put long mirrors in any of their properties due to health and safety reasons. The owner feels there are plenty of towels rails and hangers and the quantity complies with Visit England standards. The hanging facilities for coats is under review and will be amended in the future. The owner would have been more than happy to replace / change light bulbs during your stay, please notify Island Holiday Homes in the first instance if needed. This can be done without interfering with your holiday. The owner will replace the torch batteries on their next visit. Again thank you for your feedback as it is important to us. We stayed at the apartment for our first holiday with our 3 month old. It was a beautifully finished apartment within easy walking distance of Shanklin. The agents were very helpful in contacting us beforehand to check travel cot and high chair requirements and answering any questions we had. All in all a great first family holiday.

Visited for a week during a heatwave at the start of July.

Lovely house. Spacious open plan downstairs with a well equipped kitchen. The property is clean, well maintained and comfortable.

The grounds of Shanklin Manor were spacious and the kids made good use of them. The nearby playpark was also a big plus.

All the attractions of Shanklin are nearby (just about within walking distance, although with young kids we mostly used the car).

I would happily recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

The Manor was lovely and peaceful in a beautiful location. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and other key items. The sofas were really comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent.

There are a number of points that I think the owner could address to make the facilities even better:
- the main bedroom was a really good size yet the bed was only a double. The room could easily take a kingsize or superking
- the blinds did not block out the light enough in the bedrooms. The curtains could do with some proper black out curtains behind them. Especially as there were outside lights that stayed on all night.

We had a great week at May half-term staying at Shanklin Manor. We were surprised at how spacious the property was, and well equipped for all we needed. Comfy beds, nice shower and very quiet.
It is set in a quiet area with plenty of woodland around, which is what we wanted, but also a short walk into Shanklin old town, and the beach. We had a good look around the Island, and I think as a location, with a 6 year old, there weren't many better, as it was a short trip to a zoo, dino museum, theme park, and of course the beach.
When we return to the Island it's likely we'll stay in the same place.
