Do not use these lodges if you want to fish

Being a Carp fishing family thought we would treat ourselves to fishing lodge we could fish from. ( expensive treat for my family)

Having paid for willow lodge we arrive to find both its swims totally over grown with weed. Impossible to fish. Family treat ruined. We came to fish and couldn’t we could everything else you offer from our own house for free
Absolutely waste of money

Hello Damion, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet your expectations, and we’re disappointed that you didn’t enjoy your time with us. At the forefront of everything we do, it is always with our guests in mind. It’s especially unfortunate that we weren’t made aware of your concerns during your visit, as we would have welcomed the opportunity to put things right there and then. Had we known, we could have addressed the weed issue on the lake promptly to ensure you were able to enjoy your fishing experience. Since your stay, we’ve spent considerable time clearing the lakes, and they are now beautifully weed-free and ready for our valued fishing guests to enjoy. We take great pride in both our accommodation and our lakes, and we are genuinely sorry that this wasn’t reflected in your experience. We would love the chance to welcome you back to the farm at a time that suits you and provide the relaxing and enjoyable stay we’re known for. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly — we’d be happy to discuss this further and arrange a return visit. Warm regards, Alex & Alex

My son and me stayed for a three day fishing break, having had Headlands Farm recommended by my daughter, who stayed there last year. Our usual fishing break location has now been sold, leaving us needing to find somewhere else.
We loved the feel of the place, and the set up and attention to detail is excellent.
Two very lakes which have sensibly spaced swims. Our only slight niggle was the amount of weed in the lake in front of Willow, which meant that we had to virtually fish in front of our neighbours' lodges, if they were not fishing. Hopefully the weed could be cut back next year so that the two swims are usable.
The lodge was lovely and comfortable, with a nice spacious outdoor area. Very secluded, too.
We also very much appreciated all of the breakfast bits and pieces that were left for us.
We used the excellent coffee shop, having breakfasts, a lunch and the brilliant pizza night, all of which were great. The staff were so friendly, too.
We are planning our next trip already, as we loved it!

Lovely lodge second visit. Lovely location. Private swims both weed logged which was a shame as fishing was our priority. We paid for 72 hrs fishing each but because of this we only did day sessions. Extremely hard fishing here. In total my son and I have done 11 day sessions between the 2 lakes. Neither of us have caught a Carp there. During these three day sessions we caught one Bream each. I’d recommend thoroughly for a relaxing lodge break in beautiful surroundings , but I wouldn’t recommend these lodges as a fishing vacation. I may be back on my own in a smaller lodge but no more family holidays here sadly , nor day tickets in honesty. Hoping for a refund on the fishing as lodge night swims were not fit for purpose. We had a nice holiday though thank you

I’ve booked a one night stay here following my husband having surgery in Southampton and having to return the next day for a check up so this seemed the perfect place to chill and relax plus it saved the long journey back home only to return to Southampton again the next morning.

Or stay started at the visit to the coffee shop sitting under the trees enjoying a sitting under the trees enjoying a coffee and then we proceeded to the lodge. I’m not sure what I really expected, but the location and the setting of the lodge was perfect. It was very quiet except for the noise of nature and the sunshine made it even better.

Staying on one of our warmer summer days, the lodge was very hot, but a very good fan was provided, the beds were comfortable and with no outside noise you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. Having the basics provided is a very nice touch. There is a local shop quite close which has everything you need.

You definitely don’t need to be a fisherman to enjoy a stay here. It is a good base to visit some of the local attractions and perfect to return to at the end of the day, I just wish I had booked two nights

The lodge was amazing, different pillow options would be nice

The fishing was slightly disappointing as the lake is not stocked and full of weeds, the swims are full of overgrowth and trees which isn't fun with a fishing rod... Given the way it is hyped up and rules, we see one large carp in 48 hours

Only other thing is the website, it has all the info but in 100 different places and makes it hard to know what I need and don't need

The headlands caffee and staff are amazing!! We had a blast and love what the farm is doing but yeah, the fishing needs some attention. I don't think I'll go back for fishing but I am a frequent visitor to the caffee

First time visiting and can see why it books up quickly! Beautifully maintained grounds, very welcoming and helpful staff and lots of personal touches - cold water/juice in the fridge, a very useful welcoming hamper, comfortable garden recliners etc. Clean, environmentally friendly, peaceful and with the option to catch a whopper if you are lucky enough. Very happy to recommend
