This is a perfect location in a lovely and very friendly town. A wide range of places to eat. I would recommend booking restaurants out of season. The property had everything we needed and warmed up really quickly. We thought it was really good value for money. We would recommend walking up to the wall from the house. The route takes you past Sainsbury's, up to the burn (stream) and then up to the wall. The walk was reasonably easy. We had a lovely stay here.

The cottage was easy to find and the instructions were clear. The space is good, nicely set out and has all required equipment for up to four people. Sat in the outside courtyard in the evening which has pleasant lighting. The house was clean & it was nice having 2 en suite bedrooms & a downstairs toilet. Location is great for exploring the beautiful countryside, Hadrian’s Wall & other historic attractions. Pubs, cafes, shops & restaurants are all walking distance & there’s also an outdoor public pool nearby. The only things that could of been improved were the curtains which didn’t really block out any light & the bed in the first floor bedroom which seemed a little flimsy. If the bed was a bit more substantial I’d rebook in a heartbeat. Everything else was great. One other slightly random thing was coming in to find what sounded like a smoke alarm going off. Couldn’t find an emergency number in the house manual although my email was returned & it eventually went off only to bleep again at 7am for a couple of minutes.. slightly strange. Alll in all a pleasant stay.
