We loved our stay at Wills Barn. It's comfortable, well supplied and the views are amazing. It's so peaceful and we would love to return.
We enjoyed the Yeo Valley goodies and a visit to their canteen and organic garden (both fab).
The New Inn was great to walk to if you're relatively fit (it's quite hilly).
Thanks to Yeo Valley for sharing this special place with us.

This was our second visit to Wills Barn. It was equally as good as our first visit last October. The level of care and attention is second to none. All the people who dealt with us, Roy, Katie. Carina, Jo and Vicky were delightful. It was all ably assisted by wonderful weather! A great place to chill out and enjoy Julia's belated birthday celebrations (Thank you Roy)
The collecting of Yeokens will continue!

The location of Wills Barn with its superb views of the lake and surrounding unspoilt countryside, plus the perfect quietness (including the sheep next-door!) was just right. The facilities available inside the property were extremely comprehensive and we adored the main lounge/kitchen layout. We were also blessed with the best weather so far this year!

We arrived in the dark but were wowed when we opened the door and turned on hte lights as it is so much bigger than it looks in the photos. We really enjoyed flicking through the cookery books in the evening and listening to vinyls. Would be handy to include walking directions (and whether you can walk across the fields) but all in all it was a magical place in glorioius countryside. We also visited the Yeovalley Organic Garden whcih was lovely and their pub, the New Inn, where the pie was delicious!
Thank you very much Yeo Valley for the stay!

Wills Barn is a fantastic property. Very spacious for 2 people and beautifully appointed with absolutely stunning views.
The location is great, with a feeling of absolute rural isolation but a lovely pub and shops only an hour's walk away (or short drive!).
Very dog friendly as well, and customer service amazingly responsive.
Honestly couldn't recommend it more highly and would love to return.

We had a weeks break at Wills Barn, the secluded location was prefect for lots of dog walks with easily accessible pubs and restaurants to try. The accommodation was quirky and well appointed will everything catered for. The peace, quiet and wildlife spotting were a real treat.

Stunning barn conversion with unbelievable views across Blagdon Lake and beyond. Comfortable bed and and well equipped kitchen. Fabulous fire pit but with no outside lights working, a torch was a must.
It was very isolated and planning required for provisions essential as no handy local shop to pop to. If night driving a problem, roads difficult to navigate after dark, so staying in only option as nowhere walkable distance.
Lights fused during our stay and too dark for us to manage fusebox which we were instructed was outside as there was no lighting on barn path although booklet said there should have been automatic dusk to midnight lighting.
Heating was set too high for our comfort and although it could be turned down , the hive reset the thermostat back to 20 degrees very couple of hours, including during the night.
Unfortunately the flow of the shower was faster than the shower tray drainage could manage so to avoid overflow, shower needed to be kept to a minimum flow no longer than 3 minutes.
We did thoroughly enjoy our stay however and as it was a result of saving up Yeokens a real bonus.

Will's Barn was absolutely perfect for us. Clean, large for two, fully kitted out with everything and in an amazing location. Great mix of old barn and modern fittings. Ideal for dogs too with the outdoor space around, let alone the walks from the door. Lots of useful information and the YV Canteen and New Inn were fantastic. We loved our stay and wished we could stay longer. We certainly hope to return!
To be helpful....The only thing we couldn't find was the hose for dog washing, it wasn't hanging in the shed or anywhere and would have been very useful! The black tall lamp in the bedroom wasn't working (bulb?) and the shower head holder was only lodged on and needs tightening with an allen key as it falls off. Also there was no plug to plug in the recharging cable for the torch (uses a USB end).
We needed to call the emergency number on arrival on Friday at about 5.30pm as we had no water. Noone answered despite trying a few times and leaving a message. In the end we called the New Inn out of desperation. The barman was v nice but had no idea where the barn was or who could help which was understandable. He obviously managed to contact Louise after doing a bit of research after our call. Fantastic help from Louise - Thank you for sorting it so promptly and for being sympathetic! It would be better if the emergency mobile number was answered though (or if there was a note/message about a back up plan if it's not answered) as we were in a slight panic for a while until Louise called us back!

Wills Barn was clean and cosy. Everything we could have needed was provided. The location and views were spectacular and some lovely touches, like the record player. Great walks from the door (we walked all the way to Cheddar). Unfortunately the Yeo Valley gardens were not open at the time of our stay but we enjoyed a visit to the Yeo Valley Canteen and a meal at The New Inn.

Chances are you will have been staring at pictures of Wills Barn for weeks before arriving. You'll think you know what to expect. Yet this can make your first few moments inside quite a lovely, child-like experience as you discover how those remembered images dissolve and re-fit together, like a 3D jigsaw. You'll know about the view, the huge neon reminder of the WiFi password, the cane swing chair and the leopard skin dining chairs. More surprising might be the generous staircase, the huge bath, warm utility room and, if you come at Christmas, the decorated tree, with white lights adding to the colourful magic of the cosy upper floor. Of course, there's got to be an upside to coming on the shortest day!
Are there any niggles? Well this is, after all, only meant to be a taster of a fantasy rural life so don't expect everything you might have at home. In my case it was baking equipment, because the view cries out for a homemade sweet treat with your tea. If you're planning to cook here you're well provided with utensils and a great casserole, but if you're thinking loaf tins and scales remember to bring them with you. Or bake ahead at home. Cooks also note the fridge can feel a little small as it's rather awkward to access and there's only an ice box, with (gulp!) no ice cube tray. But hopefully the inability to just pop out and buy something will bring out your creative side - improvise with frozen slices of lemon!
In challenging weather the feeling of isolation here is lovely, given the plentiful supply of logs in the store outside (if it's damp bring some in to dry out a bit first), but if you can tear yourself from the wood burner and the view there's a nice walk down stone walled lanes towards Hazel Manor Farm, past some seriously atmospheric moss-covered trees, and a five-or-so minute drive away the village of Blagdon is really worth exploring. As well as the beautiful Organic Garden (sadly closed in winter) and the entertaining decor (and ace food) of the Canteen up at their HQ, your host Yeo Valley is now also licensee of the village's New Inn, a great example of a friendly village pub where the regulars not only all seem to know each other but are pretty happy to talk to visitors too. To get a real background on the community here though do read the book back at the barn about the history of Blagdon. The story of how Mary and Roger Mead built up the business is so impressive - and now, as you swing gently in the cane seat looking at the view you've been dreaming about, you are also benefiting from their hard work and vision all those years ago. Similarly, Abigail Willis's lovely book on Somerset Gardens puts Sarah Mead's achievement at the Organic Garden into context alongside other beautiful local gardens and estates. So yes, Wills Barn is as fun and fabulous in real life as you'd hoped - but you might just find that while you came here for a slice of idyllic escapism you also discover a real place, where, for a few days at least you can get to know some of the folk lucky enough to call this place home all year round...

This is our second visit to Wills Barn and it was as fabulous as the first time. It is quirky, beautiful and in the middle of nowhere yet within a few minutes drive of so many interesting places. Very many thoughtful touches and beautiful furnishings. On a very minor note, I think it's time for the neon sign to go. It doesn't enhance the property and just seems to trip the lights. This happened to us on both occassions lol. We look forward to staying again. Thank you Yeo Valley.

We had a two night stay at Wills Barn. It was cosy and beautifully decorated and finished, had everything you could possibly need, had a superb view over the valley, and was in walking distance of pubs and the brilliant Yeo valley canteen, where we enjoyed a delicious mid-walk lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Yeo valley goodies in the fridge were a treat. If we had stayed longer, we would have made more of an effort to adjust the heating down, as it kept going back up again in the night. We’d also have loved a few more trees immediately around the property. But overall a fantastic stay. Wells is lovely to visit and only 20mins away by car.

What an amazing stay in every possible way. Wills Barn had everything, comfort, position, views, atmosphere. We will return but not just for the relaxation and comfort but for the whole Yeo Valley set up. All the people we met were polite, helpful and extremely efficient. Thank you all, you made us feel so very welcome and you made us WANT to come back. We will do our best to spread the word to our friends.
Without doubt this was the BEST short break we have ever had. Thank you again.

Warm, spacious, comfortable with some quirky touches. Good location even for a rainy October midweek. Every amenity one might require…though we didn’t experiment with the fires. Very good information prior to arrival and available in the barn. A few tiny niggles..no oven gloves (barbecue/fire gloves not the same) and hand towels in kitchen and bathroom would have been appreciated.
