The house was incredibly well positioned with a heaven sent view. Beautifully appointed, there was absolutely everything there we could have needed, including a table tennis table!! The rooms are really lovely and even the small things mattered. We were also welcomed with some Yeo Valley goodies in the fridge and a handy guide to the best local walks. It's a truly lovely place to stay.

The location of Heronmere is stunning and the view is un-surpassed. But sadly it’s a flawed gem and let down on too many fronts. At this price level, the flaws are unacceptable
The decor may be an acquired taste, but in truth it’s a mish-mash of colours and styles that simply don’t gel. The violent Alezano orange exterior gives you initial warning, but the interior is an assault on the senses. It’s a mix of retro, 70’s, traditional and modern, with none of these winning through. Whilst it’s obvious that a lot of money has been spent, it hasn’t been spent wisely. In the lounge the sofa is uncomfortable and the colours far too bright. The carpet is the worst clash of colour I’ve ever seen and totally wrong for the principal room of the house. The kitchen diner has uncomfortable chairs and is pretty basic. Everything should be focussed around the amazing views, but instead it detracts from them. On the plus side, the beds are excellent and the bedroom facilities very good. But the living rooms fall way short of the mark and the lack of good taste and a coherent style is what kills it.
Outside the facilities are good, but the driveway was full of weeds and the patio hadn’t been swept. Basic ‘farm style’ rails are understandable given the Yeo Valley heritage, but look way too agricultural. Again, unacceptable at this price level.
We had a lovely time and the views almost make up for the defects. Almost, but not quite. Would we go back? Only with double strength sunglasses to reduce the glare from the colour scheme.

We stayed at Heronmere while attending ArcTanGent festival, which takes place at Fernhill Farm, just a short drive away. Very comfortable, amazing view, convenient location with a pub and a shop nearby. We'll be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Heronmere and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, spacious getaway with stunning views.
The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Blagdon Lake and the surrounding landscape was a highlight. I could honestly stare at it all day!
It was the perfect place for our family of 10, with everyone sleeping comfortably. The house has three bathrooms, including two ensuites, which made things so much easier for a big group.
The communal spaces were excellent – plenty of room to relax, eat meals together, or just hang out. We loved using the BBQ and had loads of fun with the ping pong table in the garage. The kitchen was well-equipped, which made cooking for a big group easy and enjoyable.
There was plenty of parking, with space for at least four cars, and the kids absolutely loved running around and playing on the big green lawn at the front of the house.
We also took a short walk to the Yeo Valley Organic Garden, which was free to visit and turned out to be a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
All in all, Heronmere was everything we hoped for – peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a family gathering. We’ll definitely be back!

We came over for a wedding and staying at Heronmere was a real treat - multiple bedrooms and three bathrooms made it ideal for a mixed group of adults and children. The elevated outlook looking over the Lake is 'to die for.' One evening we invited visitors over and enjoyed a bbq outside on the back patio - wonderful. Thoroughly recommended.

Our group had a brilliant weekend stay at Heronmere. The house was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed walking around the local area and visited the pub next door. We’d love to come back to Heronmere, even if it’s just for another look at that incredible view!

Want to take your team away to replenish and reinspire? Yeo Valley HQ has wonderful conferencing facilities and delicious dining options in addition to fantastic accommodation. I booked both Coombe Lodge and Heronmere.
