Perched on a hill overlooking the blue flag beach at Porth Dafarch, Y Lleiaf is a charming end-of-terrace cottage which is one of just a handful of properties within walking distance of this beautiful beach on the southwest coast of Anglesey.

A lovely home from home

The cottage had everything we needed for a week's holiday. Clean, comfortable and easy access to everything on the island. It has beautiful views and is situated right next to the beach with lovely cliff top walks. The perfect holiday retreat.

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable cottage. It is set in a beautiful area and is in walking distance to the sea. The cottage is well supplied with everything you need for self catering. The bathroom is in need of some attention and the double bed a little soft for our liking but neither stopped us enjoying our time on Anglesey.

We found the cottage to be clean and well provided for with everything we would need for a week's stay. The views out across Anglesey and all the way over to Eryri/Snowdonia are truly spectacular - from the front of the cottage you can see from the Carneddau all the way to Bardsey Island. The cottage is situated in a very peaceful location where you can just about hear the roll of waves at high tide and even see the waves crashing on the cliffs by Treaddur Bay, just along the coast. Porthdafarch beach is the perfect little bay to spend a day in - great for swimming and with coastal path walks that take in spectacular views. It is a one minute walk from the cottage - we went down to it in our swimmers with a towel wrapped around us and flip-flops on: no need to pack up all the beach paraphernalia! The cottage feels quite remote, but you're just a few minutes' drive from several supermarkets and EV fast charging stations (which are otherwise not that easy to come by on Anglesey). If I could upgrade one thing, it would be the mattresses, which is why I have dropped a little from the comfort/condition score here; they are not very comfortable and quite old now, especially the single beds upstairs. We slept ok, nonetheless, but it's not as comfy as it might be. It's a great spot for exploring the island and you can easily fill your week with activities without having to cross back over to the mainland: we especially enjoyed a Puffin Island boat tour, the Pili Palas (butterfly enclosure and small animals park) and the Anglesey Sea Zoo, but simply swimming in the beautiful, clear waters of the beaches was our favourite thing all week.

Wonderful costume cottage with wonderful views and a stone’s throw from the beach. We enjoyed the wood burner and used the kitchen for a variety of meals. Would definitely recommend. A real haven!

We were so lucky to stay at this place given our late booking.

It’s a lovely cosy place, nestled near a local beach with great coastal walks nearby.

About 40 mins drive from Snowdon, good cycle routes, supermarkets - 5 min drive (Lidl, Asda & Tescos)

Good facilities, nice garden.

Note the upstairs room has 3 beds but the ceiling is low. My 5 foot 8 son was ok. He banged his head once on the stairs and I moved his bed into the middle.

We had a very good break, just what we hoped for.this is a lovely cottage in a perfect location.just a short stroll to the beach, beachside parking for ease. Very short drive to great supermarkets.
There is little I would change only maybe a new tv upstairs, otherwise it was excellent.
