A peaceful retreat in the quiet community of Llanfaelog, Rhosneigr, Tan y Fynwent is a charming North Wales holiday cottage for up to four. Just a short distance from the surf scene and cafe culture of Rhosneigr, it is the perfect choice for walks, watersports and Welsh hospitality.

dissapointed

so we thought we were getting the whole house,,,,,but we found out we had to cross in front of another cottage to get to our front door.the drive was to narrow to get the car in and open the doors.the gentle man who's door we had to pass each rime we went out to say the least was a bit rude, despite us saying good morning etc each time our paths crossed he completely blanked us.we got to the front door..the door was so stuck we had to shoulder charge it to get it open,to get out the door we had to go out the patio doors and push it from the outside,go back in,shut the patio doors and exit the door. we opened the fridge door, the shelf fell out and broke, the shelf above it also came out but we caught that one. the tv in the room to the right as you go in was situated next to the door adjoing the the gentleman next door,we didnt use the tv in case it upset him,we got the feeling he didnt want us there.none of the windows have been cleaned outside in ages, the radiator in the bathroom need a lick of paint, the floor as you exit the patio is seperating and spongy.the garden has broken plant pots and the greenhouse is boarded up and held together with cable ties, also a bowser full of green water, there are old broken cellular lights next to apple tree, paint is flaking off woodwork next to roof gutters and rear security light is broken, there is a concrete bird bath near the garden steps leaning over,if a kid pulls that over could cause a serious accident, the bins hadnt been emptied from the previous week so no space to put our empties etc. if i had known we had to cross someone elses property i would not have booked ,this property just needs a general tidy up ,the garden could be fantastic if the broken pots and the greenhouse was dismantled but the reason we would not re book this property is...we thought we were getting the whole house, lack of parking, and the grumpy neighbour,if you want to discuss any of the comments please email or ring me best regards lee family

We had a very enjoyable stay in the cottage and on Anglesey. The cottage was centrally located on the island so we were never too far from anywhere we wanted to visit including the beautiful beaches, lakes and wildlife - the red squirrels at the Dingle were a highlight!

The cottage was spacious, comfortable and reasonably well equipped (although a hoover would have been useful!). As there were only two of us (plus our dog) we only used the main bedroom, the kitchen / diner and the garden room which was a lovely sunny spot in the evenings.

Both the garden and the interior could use a little TLC to further enhance their overall appeal. The garden, particularly the patio area, was a bit overgrown with weeds and broken terracotta pots and the furniture tired making it a little unappealing to us. There is also a large pond on the lawn which is drying up making it more like a swamp (this wasn't mentioned in the listing). The cottage could do with a lick of paint and a spring clean particularly under the sofas and on the radiators.
