Our family stayed at the cottage for four nights in early April.The weather was not kind but this didn't stop us making the best of it.The cottage is spacious,comfortable,has everything you need for everyday.I cannot express how stunning the location is not to be missed.We were so impressed we have booked again for July, hope the weathers kind.

The cottage was very idillic and suited us fine . On arrival and into cottage there was a strong smell of wet dogs . Nice large garden area .it got colder at night and we couldn't get the central heating to work at all although it seemed ok a pre set schedule . The bedroom at the back nice size but the bed mattress was very bumpy and very uncomfortable .and the TV was rather on the small side I needed binoculars to view it .but we had a lovely break and the donkeys and the deer stagg was a very welcoming sight

I'm sorry you didn't find everything satisfactory although glad you seemed to enjoy your stay. We do welcome dogs and unfortunately it is harder to remove the evidence of some dogs more than others. We haven't had any previous complaints about the mattress so will look into this now. We have also never had complaints about the size of the TV, but perhaps it is time for an upgrade. Thank you for your constructive comments.

I would book this over and over again. Larger than expected accomodation with views to die for. Location fantastic and our dogs had a wonderful time walking straight from the lodge. Highly recommend with nice touches of milk/tea/coffee/dishwasher tablets all provided. Thank you for a wonderful few days.

We've been here a few times and always had a great time. The cottage has plenty of room but probably needs a little bit of updating. This time we had a few problems with the heating and hot water system for one night but we were provided with alternative facilities. I'm sure it will be sorted soon, the team on site are very good. It certainly won't stop us coming back. It is beautifully situated for this amazing part of the lake district.

An older cottage, a bit basic - but spacious and really comfortable. Kitchen has what is needed but water pressure in the cottage was very low when we stayed. Heating system was problematical as there was no information (apart from 'alter the thermostat') supplied. Shower was 'bracing' but this may be due to the water pressure? BUT - enjoyable, superb views (including the donkeys) and brilliant garden around the cottage. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great location for walking with trails literally straight off the site and easy access to Eskdale, Wastwater etc..

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. After your visit and the little note you left, we realised there was a problem with the hot water system which we are now in the process of rectifying. Apologies for your 'bracing' shower but you should have told us sooner and we could have taken more immediate action. Hopefully you will return to check all is in good working order.

Harter cottage was lovely, although needs a bit of updating. It was clean, warm and location was brilliant.
