Perfect location, what views! Our family of 5 enjoyed it so much and would definitely not hesitate to come back again.
Beautiful campsite, lovely views from our pitch. Well maintained campsite, place to park the car next to the pitch. Washing line on the pitch a lovely touch. Pitches flat and in good condition to pitch a tent. Facilities were fab. Clean facilities and lovely warm shower. Area with honesty shop with essentials if you have forgotten anything and even blankets for the evening! You can tell things have been thought about on this campsite! We would’ve loved to stay longer but the weather was not in our favour. Really lovely and friendly wardens who live on-site, only a text away should you ...more
Very enjoyable 4 night stay, the static caravan was very comfortable,no problems, will visit again hopefully.
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.
We arrived earlier than expected and was greeted by Sandy and Bruce who went out of thier way to make our stay enjoyable. The site is very well maintained with the facilities always exceptionally clean. The honesty system in the communal shack is excellent with numerous games and sundries available to all. The firepits and BBQs are available for hire at a reasonable rate along with a large tub of logs. All in all an excellent stay at an excellent site. We will return in the future ..
What a fantastic campsite! Park Farm Holidays was incredibly easy to find, and from the moment we arrived, Bruce and Sandy made us feel completely welcome. They were friendly, helpful, and took the time to explain where everything was, which made settling in effortless. The site itself was immaculate—beautifully maintained with spotless facilities. The setting is absolutely stunning, peaceful and scenic, making it the perfect getaway. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Great location easily found, staff were great and there on arrival, big bonus with having Donkeys too.
The campsite was easy to access thanks to the wardens sending a quick text including directions for the most accessible routes. The facilities were well kept and clean and hosts were very attentive to our needs providing us with recommendations and weather updates for fire pits and such.
Ideal place for us. Was good value for money as hotels and B&Bs are expensive in the is area of Lake District. Did the job. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back with family.
The little cottage is so cosy - Storm Amy was hardly noticeable unless you ventured out. A lovely place to stay. I would rather not recommend it to others as I would rather keep it my own secret
We booked all 3 cabins for family to celebrate my 60th birthday, we had the best time celebrating!! We all loved the cabins & the area , the grandkids especially enjoying seeing the donkeys. The cabins are lovely with everything you need for a break away, including firepit, BBQ & outdoor seating! There is also a little honesty shop on site. This was our 4th stay & we will definitely be back again.
I would recommend park farm highly. It is a quiet and small campsite with good, clean facilities. Pitch 3 was a good size for us. Wardens were very helpful and available.
Myself and a friend camped the one night on pitch 1 and i must say such a beautiful location and everything on site you need to have a comfortable stay shower and toilet block is immaculate with laundry facilities too the park wardens Sandy and Bruce are amazing really friendly and very helpful they both made it feel like a home from home i cannot fault the place at all and looking forward to my next stay asap
After many years visiting the Duddon valley this was our first time in Wasdale. Rather chilly for June - 12 to 13 in the daytime. The heating and fire were needed but not too much. The cottage is great in every respect. We managed 2 fells and several walks. There is a path marked on the OS map from the house. I’m not sure that it exists. But not a bother. Loved the swifts and swallows.
After navigating to the campsite a beautiful scene opens up. And Susan and Bruce are there to greet you. Nice pitches for cammpervans, although not very level. Facilities are clean and well kept. The wardens are there to help you. Our stay was great
Parkgate Farm exceeded our expectations. 2 x adults, 1 x dog, tentbox & gazebo. The campsite is immaculate and so welcoming. The small amount of pitches make this campsite special and exactly why we booked. The views are incredible and facilities are everything and more. Little details like Smore packs, wood deliveries each evening and the customer care from sandy & Bruce the wardens was brilliant. So friendly. Location was perfect, a gateway to so many adventures. We plan on coming back! Thank you!
We’ve stayed at Irt cabin for a week. The place is spotless, cozy and provides everything you need and even better view than you can imagine! Hosts were super helpful and friendly. Lots of hikes right from the cabin, lake and bigger hikes are a short car ride away. 100% recommend to enjoy Irt cabin!!!!
An excellent base for fell walking in Wasdale and Eskdale and to relax afterwards. Well equipped static van with decking to sit outside and enjoy the views and watch the donkeys. Good walks n the woods nearby. Helpful staff for any problems. My sixth year, often for 2 weeks. And I hope to be back
What a lovely little site this is with beautiful views sandy and Bruce really helpful amenities are spot on showers are really nice and free not having to look for 20 pence pieces to shower. You can hire bbq and fire pits. Washer and dryer for those who need it. I would totally recommend for a peaceful stay. Its location is ideal for those who love walking .whitehaven not far away muncaster Castle is lovely 5 minutes away .
We love Parkgate Farm campsite and have been several times. It’s peaceful and in a beautiful spot. The caravan is very comfortable and provides all we need.
Following total knee replacement surgery we needed a relaxing break and this provided us with just that. The two dogs relaxed as soon as we walked into Harter Cottage, remembering it from previous stays. Even during a power outage caused by a storm the site wardens kept us informed of the situation. Thanks again for the relaxing break and we are already planning our return.
