Was very impressed with the campsite. Everything was very clean and also the facilities were high quality. Its not the cheapest but it is higher quality than the cheaper campsites

Such a lovely campsite, nestled next to some really good hikes from camp! The camp was peaceful and quiet and the hosts could not do more for you and were always making sure we were okay and not cold! Pleasantly enjoyed our Christmas break!
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.
Beautiful campsite in a stunning location. Made to feel welcome on arrival, great sized pitch with amazing views from each pitch. Very clean facilities with good showers and toilets. Highly recommended, probably my favourite campsite visited this year. Will return in the summer with friends.
What a fantastic campsite! Park Farm Holidays was incredibly easy to find, and from the moment we arrived, Bruce and Sandy made us feel completely welcome. They were friendly, helpful, and took the time to explain where everything was, which made settling in effortless. The site itself was immaculate—beautifully maintained with spotless facilities. The setting is absolutely stunning, peaceful and scenic, making it the perfect getaway. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Great location easily found, staff were great and there on arrival, big bonus with having Donkeys too.
Ideal place for us. Was good value for money as hotels and B&Bs are expensive in the is area of Lake District. Did the job. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back with family.
Enjoyed fantastic views, donkeys and all. It is well situated to enjoy the activities offered in the area as well as the nearby public houses. A clean, calm and spacious site which warrants another visit
Excellent property. Clean and well kept , the village is very quiet with good opportunities for walking and sightseeing. Huge sandy beaches nearby and spectacular scenery. A very relaxing place for a break
With our camping tent set up we are always really just looking for a leveled pitch location with usable facilities and possibly a good view. Here we were fortunate to have it all and more. This is a fantastic small site with great customer services, lovely facilities and owner passion seen throughout the site. The location of this site is very usable, only a 20-30 min drive from wasedale valley car park for a number of big hikes and adventures, and near enough for many other activities. Super communication from site wardens in advance. Lovely site. Great location for walking up Scafelle Pike. The honesty shop was a lovely addition.
After many years visiting the Duddon valley this was our first time in Wasdale. Rather chilly for June - 12 to 13 in the daytime. The heating and fire were needed but not too much. The cottage is great in every respect. We managed 2 fells and several walks. There is a path marked on the OS map from the house. I’m not sure that it exists. But not a bother. Loved the swifts and swallows.
We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect. We would come back to this gorgeous place in the wonderful Lake District.
We had such a lovely few days at ParkGate with our toddler and dog. There was plenty of room for us all, and it was incredibly clean with all the facilities you would need. The site itself was huge so you didn’t feel on top of other guests at all - in fact, we barely saw anyone! We were greeted by Sandy on arrival and although we didn’t need anything at all, she assured us she was just a phone call away if we did. Our expectations were very high after reading the excellent reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the quality of the facilities compared to other sites. The toilets and showers were not as high quality or as clean as other sites. The number of toilets / showers must surely be an issue during peak season. There was no heating in them which could easily be overcome with small heaters. Our pitch, which was a generous size and had a picnic table, had the remains of the previous occupants’ BBQ / fire pits which made it look messy / unsightly when we arrived. Another great break at Parkgate Farm caravans. Clean, tidy and comfy great for us a d the dogs. Loads to do close by or from the door.
We really enjoyed our stay! We didn’t get to meet the team as we arrived late but communication was spot on and they made sure we had everything we needed. Facilities were clean and the views around the site were stunning! It was so quiet and peaceful, we will definitely return in the summer!
Following total knee replacement surgery we needed a relaxing break and this provided us with just that. The two dogs relaxed as soon as we walked into Harter Cottage, remembering it from previous stays. Even during a power outage caused by a storm the site wardens kept us informed of the situation. Thanks again for the relaxing break and we are already planning our return.
