Very well run small campsite with everything you could possibly want. Excellent pitches equipped with washing line and parking next to the pitch.
The location was fantastic, views amazing. Facilities were lovely and clean and well maintained. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, checking we had all we needed. Little walk around the site was lovely and donkeys so cute. Highly recommend. We will come again
Very enjoyable 4 night stay,the static caravan was very comfortable,no problems,will visit again hopefully.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Parkgate, we had 4 of the caravans and a pod for a family of 21 and 5 dogs. The weather was very kind to us and we were able to spend plenty of time outdoors. We'd love to come back

We had a wonderful weekend at Parkgate Farm Holidays. Stunning location with good access to the Eskdale Railway and Scafell Pike. The caravan was comfortable, spotless well equipped, and more spacious than expected. A real gem.
Great location easily found, staff were great and there on arrival, big bonus with having Donkeys too.
Really enjoyed our little break away. Beautiful location, friendly and helpful site wardens. Relaxing and quiet atmosphere with lovely clean toilets and warm showers. Couldn't ask for more!
The campsite was easy to access thanks to the wardens sending a quick text including directions for the most accessible routes. The facilities were well kept and clean and hosts were very attentive to our needs providing us with recommendations and weather updates for fire pits and such.
Our fifth visit to this lovely little cottage and every bit as enjoyable as the first! It's position on the estuary front is unsurpassed, the decking to the rear of the cottage is such a lovely place to sit in the (hopefully!) sunshine watching the tide ebb and flow. Two excellent pubs in the village plus the Ratty Arms which now only sadly serves not much more than bar type snacks though does offer 'specials'. Parking is easy outside the door and you could even do without a car for a majority of a stay. Hugely recommended.
I accidentally stumbled upon Parkgate Farm when looking for a short stay near Scafell Pike with my son. I wasn’t expecting much as we tried to keep the camp sites relatively cheap as we trekked Scotland, Wales and England over the holiday. However, this place is a hidden gem. It’s a small site with plenty of room to accommodate more but their well thought out camp plan focuses on providing campers a feeling of space, and with incredible views towards Wasdale and Scafel. We had a fantastic stay at Parkgate Farm Holidays, we camped for 4 nights and were really appreciative of the personal service and kowledge of both Bruce and Sandy. Bruce and Sandy went above and bejond to ensure everything was just perfect for us during our stay. We could not have asked for a more polite and proffessional onsite liasion through out our stay, nothing seemed to ever be a problem and they mainationed to campsite to and excellent standard. Already looking at dates for next year, can not recommend Parkgate Farm enough.
After many years visiting the Duddon valley this was our first time in Wasdale. Rather chilly for June - 12 to 13 in the daytime. The heating and fire were needed but not too much. The cottage is great in every respect. We managed 2 fells and several walks. There is a path marked on the OS map from the house. I’m not sure that it exists. But not a bother. Loved the swifts and swallows.
We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival at Parkgate campsite, where we were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff. The facilities exceeded our expectations and proved to be very family-friendly, with donkeys and sheep providing entertainment for the children. The location offers convenient access to many of the Lakes and walking routes. Despite the presence of numerous families in both tents and cabins, the site remained quiet and peaceful. The surrounding views are beautiful, and we look forward to visiting again.
Amazing site with great views of the mountains. Perfect for exploring western fells and lakes - close to seascale and scafell. Will be coming back
We’ve stayed at Irt cabin for a week. The place is spotless, cozy and provides everything you need and even better view than you can imagine! Hosts were super helpful and friendly. Lots of hikes right from the cabin, lake and bigger hikes are a short car ride away. 100% recommend to enjoy Irt cabin!!!!
Just returned from our stay in one of the caravans during a sunny weekend. Such quiet in Nature and peaceful view! The caravan was comfortable and as good as new. Blessed with location - we visited Waswater (alpacas), Eskdale (swimming in the pools) and Seascale (ocean dip). All so close by. Thanks Parkgate for keeping it small and beautiful.
Great place to stay apart from being very secluded sat nav not good in the area but google maps works most of the time
Have just returned from an absolutely brilliant stay. 14 of us total, aged 3-60 and everyone absolutely loved it. The campsite itself is spotless and every pitch/self-catering lodge had been planned to maximise the lovely views. In addition to hiking, recommend Seascale (incredible dog friendly beach), Whitehaven and a meal at Bower House Inn.
Another great holiday at this lovely peaceful place. Everything you need at the cottage and the surroundings are out of this world.We were lucky to see a family of red deer,who visited night and morning in the field next to us,the resident Donkeys are a delight too.Just a couple of suggestions,it would be handy to have the garden fenced to contain the dogs,and the beds are a little hard.Will be booking again.
