Had an amazing few days at Parkgate farm for our first family holiday, we stayed in mite cabin and it was spotless, comfy beds and amazing views. Bruce and Sandy went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible, Bruce sorting a fan for our baby and sandy coming over to ensure we were all okay. Both were amazing and accommodating which made our stay so much easier and we all felt at ease with them around, Thankyou again and we will 100% book again! Amber, Dylan and Theodore
Lovely site and would recommend to everyone. The team on site couldn't help enough and really made our experience as novice campers.
Fantastic communication from start to finish. Arrival was smooth with very clear directions provided. We (two adults, one teenager) stayed in one of the pods which exceeded our expectations. Very cute, appointed with everything that we could possibly need, exceptionally clean and very warm and cosy. The views from the large arched window were breathtaking, we did a lot of gazing and wildlife spotting. Great walks direct from the site and location is perfect for exploring. We are already planning our next trip, great value for money.
I gave every category a 5 because this was such a lovely, varied, well laid-out and organised campsite - set in an intimate and human-scale environment and yet with views of the mountains. It also has great walks directly from the site through mixed woodland accessible to the nearby village of Santon. And holding it all together are the 2 wardens Sandy and Bruce who really make the visit such a good experience. I also experienced a pod which was rented by my friends and that was fine and an impressive structure. The whole site with its mixed facilities fits so well into the environme...more
This cottage is a real gem it is set in an idyllic village with views from the decking across the estuary we spent many evening watching the wild life and unbelievable sunsets. Can’t recommend it enough but maybe not to much because we want to be able to return for many years. The cottage is very homely and has everything you need and there is plenty of great
Great location easily found, staff were great and there on arrival, big bonus with having Donkeys too.
Really enjoyed our little break away. Beautiful location, friendly and helpful site wardens. Relaxing and quiet atmosphere with lovely clean toilets and warm showers. Couldn't ask for more!
Just got back for a 4 night stay. Probably the cleanest site we’ve ever stayed on. Not one complaint. Beautiful views, games for the children to enjoy, chance to buy anything you may have forgotten. Site wardens were super helpful too. Perfect location for Scafell Pike. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic small site in beautiful soundings. Great views from every pitch with plenty of space and greenery in between. Lovely helpful wardens Bruce and Sandy. We'll definitely be back. Thank you.
An absolutely lovely caravan with everything we needed, and a little corner of heaven overlooking the donkeys in the field with forested mountains behind.
Another successful visit to Parkgate Farm. As usual good clean accommodation in easy reach of great outdoor areas for hiking and biking. We will be back again soon.
Sandy and Bruce were so helpful and lovely. We had a gorgeous pitch with views in both directions and so ingenious to have a washing line for each pitch! Facilities were all clean and there were some really lovely touches with the book swap and board games, and nice, useful things to buy like cards, citronella candles and the s’mores kits. We will be back!
Perfect site with amazing warden/hosts. Electric hook for our tent was excellent and you, won’t be disappointed and the hosts can’t do enough for you. Will definitely be back soon
Wonderful stay in the Lake District. Our favourite part was the wonderful walk straight from the campsite- truly beautiful! Thank you so much !
Excellent stay again can't fault the site if I was to be pickey cooker hard to work as all letters rubbed off
After many years visiting the Duddon valley this was our first time in Wasdale. Rather chilly for June - 12 to 13 in the daytime. The heating and fire were needed but not too much. The cottage is great in every respect. We managed 2 fells and several walks. There is a path marked on the OS map from the house. I’m not sure that it exists. But not a bother. Loved the swifts and swallows.
Lovely week , we stayed in one of the 5 caravans. It was clean and warm and comfortable plenty of hot water and well equipped kitchen if you want to eat in. The campsite was quiet and in a great location with walks on the doorstep and donkeys in the field. There is plenty to do Wastewater, fell walking and mountains to climb. The beach at St. Bees and a trip to Cockermouth, Ravensglass and its railway,Boot, and the Hardknott pass with Roman fort , Muncaster castle all nearby. We had a great time.
Loved our stay 3 nights stay here, even though we were not lucky with the weather. We decided to add on the optional electric hook up last minute which was no problem. Sandy and Bruce were most welcoming and did not hesitate to help in anyway they could during our stay. Lovely views and peaceful site. Toilets/showers/sink area clean. Lots of options such as BBQ/campfire hire etc which we managed to do one night, whilst the kids played with the provided activities on the grass, also loved the fact we were able to dry our towels too. We took a visit to Muncaster Castle and Wasdale whilst there...more
What a wonderful campsite - the views are amazing and the location is excellent for walks in the western lakes. You can walk out the door into Eskdale or Wasdale is a short drive away. Lots of choices of nearby pubs and the beach isn't far away either. We stayed in one of the log cabins and loved it - a great space, dog friendly, super comfortable, good parking. The campsite is very well spaced out so you're not on top of your neighbours and it feels private. We will definitely be back!
Lovely site with excellent, clean facilities and beautiful views. Perfect pub down the road it was a lovely weekend
Another great holiday at this lovely peaceful place. Everything you need at the cottage and the surroundings are out of this world. We were lucky to see a family of red deer, who visited night and morning in the field next to us,the resident Donkeys are a delight too.Just a couple of suggestions,it would be handy to have the garden fenced to contain the dogs, and the beds are a little hard. Will be booking again.
