Studio apartment, looking over the canal and marina. Luxury bathroom with large shower. Small Mezzanine sitting room for relaxing, with Smart TV. Well equipped kitchenette (no oven) just hob and microwave. Note: Private entrance up Granary stone steps and Dutch stairs going upto the Mezzanine.

Fantastic location for a short break.

The Captains Lookout was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Rachel and Sid were very helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

This is my second time staying in the Captain's Lookout and it was again great. It still looks brand new like you're the first person to ever stay there, immaculately clean.

Sid and Rachel are great hosts that leave you to get on with it but always available to answer any questions should they arise.

Location is perfect, near enough to Brecon but also peacefully quiet. It's ideal from what I want to do going out on my bike, walking up Pen Y Fan and just basically having a relaxing time.

Highly recommended and will be back again soon.

Lovely cottage in a great location right by the canal. We stayed for 2 nights and it was ideal for our short break.
Our only negative point being the stairs - really steep and slippery. The upstairs area with the sofa and tv is a nice idea to create more space, but the stairs made it a little hazardous to access. I would recommend trying to incorporate the tv into the downstairs room and do away with the upstairs room.
We would definitely return though as use we didn’t really need use of the upstairs room. Lovely place x

This was our 2nd stay at Ty Newydd. The first time B&B and this time at The Captain's Lookout. The accommodation has everything you need to cater for a stress free holiday. It was immaculately clean and the bed is very comfy! Being on the canal makes for easy canalside walks. It is also perfectly placed for walking/hiking for all levels. Plenty to see and do in the area Rachael and Sid are great hosts and are always around if you need anything.

A very comfortable and ejoyable stay as always.
Lot's of home comforts. Very cozy in winter.

Captains Lookout is a beautiful apartment with stunning views. We had a lovely pub meal at The Oak, a short walk along the canal. We only came for a couple of days over the weekend to do some walking and visit the waterfalls, wish we could have stayed longer.
