The lodge itself was excellent – very clean, comfortable beds, a great shower, and a lovely kitchen/living area. We really enjoyed our stay overall. The only disappointment was the hot tub, which was one of the main reasons we booked. When we arrived at 4pm, the water temperature was only 21°C and, despite waiting until around 10pm, it was still only in the high 20s. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn't use it on our first evening and had to wait until the following morning. Great week in Pattie's Hill Pod, spending some quality time with friends in one of the other neighbouring pods. The view was out of this world, the owners (Anna & Gavin) were just amazing, the kids spent all day playing and enjoying the animal neighbours! The food pack of meat from the farm was totally delicious. The pod was very comfortable and extremely well appointed with everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 kids. The pod was lovely and all 4 of us enjoyed it. There were a lot of rabbits running around and we also saw deer. Very good commute to Edinburgh by car and some places to eat in near by Penicuik. The pod was very clean and had everything you would need. Me and my partner found the single mattresses too soft but this is just a matter of personal preference.
