The lodge itself was excellent – very clean, comfortable beds, a great shower, and a lovely kitchen/living area. We really enjoyed our stay overall. The only disappointment was the hot tub, which was one of the main reasons we booked. When we arrived at 4pm, the water temperature was only 21°C and, despite waiting until around 10pm, it was still only in the high 20s. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn't use it on our first evening and had to wait until the following morning. We had a fantastic 2-night family break at Springfield Farm Holiday Pods in Penicuik. The lodge was superb, really comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Everything was well thought out, and you couldn’t really ask for much more. The hot tub was definitely one of the highlights, with fantastic views across the hills overlooking Edinburgh. Sitting in a hot tub, enjoying the views and putting the world to rights was just what we needed. Great week in Pattie's Hill Pod, spending some quality time with friends in one of the other neighbouring pods. The view was out of this world, the owners (Anna & Gavin) were just amazing, the kids spent all day playing and enjoying the animal neighbours! The food pack of meat from the farm was totally delicious. The pod was very comfortable and extremely well appointed with everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 kids. The hot tub facing the 180 Deg panoramic view of the Pentland Hills was absolutely idyllic and made the holiday so peaceful. Highly highly recommend Springfield ...more
Excellently equipped holiday pod, very comfortable, great views, hot tub was spotless - almost brand new. We stayed in a dog friendly one despite having no dog, and there were a few dog hairs on the bedding and a little bit dusty round the single beds, but really minor and we didn’t mind. Enclosed garden great for dogs and kids. Lovely to wake up to the sheep and cows outside the window. Sunrise in one side, sunset on the other - absolutely beautiful. Perfect location outside of Edinburgh for us, went to the Borders for the day too. Customer service was great, timely communication, no issues. ...more
