Jessamy Cottage is a welcoming, dog-friendly holiday cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere. With lake views, private parking and a peaceful yet central location just minutes from the lake and village, it’s a superb base for exploring the Lake District.

Had a nice stay at this cottage, the downstairs is huge and well laid out with lots of storage and coat hooks. The blinds are a little fiddly with all the strings but do their job. Heating is very good and water pressure is excellent. Parking is a bonus but many cars pull off their driveway and block the access for loading and unloading which is annoying. Upstairs is slightly different, smaller if a little cramped and the shower is very tiny, don’t expect to be able to turn around or even close the door if your larger than a size 10 or larger breasted and picking up the shower gel from the floor is virtually impossible. Location is good if a little hilly and many steps if you take the shortcut to Lake Road, with either route take the torch! Not sure we would stay again if I’m honest.

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay overall. We're sorry that neighbouring vehicles occasionally made parking access inconvenient, although we hope having your own space was a benefit. Your shower feedback is particularly useful, and we've just ordered a caddy to keep toiletries within easier reach. We've not previously received comments about the upstairs feeling cramped, although we appreciate the shower room is compact, as reflected in our online photographs. The property was cosy and in a good position. Although the kitchen appliances and bathroom were very good the rest of the decor was dated. The property was not as clean as I would have expected. The roof of the next door property was being renovated and so there was noise and dust. Because of the location of the property parking was very tricky and we kept having to ask the workmen to move. Perhaps this should have been made explicit on booking.

Really enjoyed our stay, very close to Bowness. The cottage itself was very comfy, cosy and had everything we needed.
Only small issues gates outside need to be lockable for children/dogs and the shower was very small. Didn’t affect our stay would stay again and highly recommend

Jessamy cottage was just what we needed. Tastefully furnished and well equipped. A short walk from the cottage is Biskey Howe, a hidden viewpoint that provides spectacular views across Windermere . What sets Tarn and Fell Escapes apart from other companies in our experience is the kindness that Ross showed to us during a challenging year , responding to our changing needs with warmth and compassion. Thank you Ross.
