We booked the flat to meet up with my daughters for a birthday weekend. The area is great for roaming around, including incredible beaches and the park was well kept and clean.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 night break at the fabulous Arthur’s escape. Great apartment, close to amenities. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay with the biggest TV I’ve seen, felt like being in the cinema. Wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend to friends.

The flat was lovely. Clean and very comfortable. Much better and more spacious than in the pics. We really enjoyed our stay. The whole village was impeccably clean and well organised. Great access to the beach. Plenty of parking. Don't rely on the shop for supplies, as it was very basic. Proximity to Filey town was a great bonus.

In regard to booking the accomodation, I didn’t find the website user friendly, primarily because we were flexible around a couple of week period and were considering all lengths of stay, this combined with a need for a dog and at least two bedrooms meant I was in and out of the specific lodge availability quite a bit until I could find something to meet our needs. Once that was done I booked the week, but didn’t realise that the payment request was sent after booking so panicked. I called Antony who was an absolute star, reconfirmed all of the details, talked through the facilities at the apartment we had booked and reassured me that all was on hand and a payment link would shortly arrive in my mails.
Thanks Antony!!

On arrival at The Bay you are immediately struck by how well kept the gardens and park is, lots of beautiful plants it’s so neat and tidy and looks great quality so we were very excited to check out our accommodation. We found the centre and was nice to see a Pharmacy a Pub and a little store right next to the Lesiure centre and tennis courts! So was great to know our way around within two mins of arrival. We got to our apartment check in was easy via the keypad lock. Apartment was great quality, modern and simple decor, easy to keep clean and maintain during the stay, fab appliances, air fryer, cooker, snazzy toaster, microwave and tassimo machine! Loved having a washing machine as it made Beach living a dream. cupboard also had airing rack, iron, ironing board, mop and bucket and a cordless Dyson.

There was some sachets of tea coffee and sugar for your first brew on arrival and a couple of little packs of biscuits which was a nice touch. Also left a couple of dishwasher tabs a sponge and a dishcloth. Dog was even happy with its bowls to borrow during the week!

Beds were comfy, linen was nice. Bathrooms were in great condition. Enough space to store clothes and plenty of hangers.
Kitchen equipment was plentiful loads of pans and dishes and glasses, probably a bit too much for us because there wasn’t one cupboard to store food. We could put tea and coffee stuff away in the little top cupboard above the microwave and having two fridges helped with storage but one free cupboard for tins cereal etc would have been nice. I’d prob put the wine glasses in the dresser and dvds in the tv cabinet to free up a cupboard.(if it was me ;).

Apartment feels very roomy, loved the open plan living, kids bedroom is small but was perfect for our two 13&8 who just like to lie on their beds playing on their phones!

Views from apartment are lovely. Walk to and from the centre is a quick couple of mins. Walk to the Beach is well signposted and about ten mins. Lovely walk an although the part to get down to the beech is steep the path is in great condition (we saw a mobility scooter parked at the bottom one day). The beach is glorious and at that end of Filey is quiet and feels really unspoilt.

We are from Yorkshire so know the coast well, so was a nice base to explore our fave haunts, Whitby, Filey, Scarborough, Cayton Bay. However our favourite part of this break was being able to ditch the car have relaxing mornings walk down to the beach spend some hours there walk back with a stop for a pint at the pub on the way back!

The Pub is lovely and staff are great. Prices are so expensive though, that was a shame, we would have definitely spent more time at the pub or eating at the resturaunt if the prices were more reasonable. Our first round was a pint, a double g&t, two large diet cokes and a packet of crisps and it was £28. I hadn’t realised that a double would be charged twice the price of a single! So it must have been £13/14 for that one drink, I was happy to pay as it’s my own fault for not checking and there were price lists and I’m on holiday ;) but it certianly put us off going there. Because the weather was gorgeous we’d have usually gone back and sat out with a couple of drinks but this accomodation doesn’t have any outside space.

The only other point I’d make is some of the other accommodations at The Bay do have outdoor space but it’s not all fenced in so if you have little kids make sure you check what suits you. One family near us were forever chasing their little one because he kept running from their ‘garden’ into the car park which I’d personally find quite stressful.

Accomodation was clean but there were a couple of bits that were dusty (mainly wall decor) window ledges, bathroom cupboards and the kitchen floor was dirty in one corner. When we left i pulled all the appliances out to wipe the surfaces and found a half eaten bag of candy floss behind the air fryer which was a bit grim.
The mail had said the air fryers weren’t cleaned and to make sure you left it clean yourself so assume it was just missed because of that and the bathrooms etc were spotless so just a small point. (4/5)

The pool complex is good, could do with brightening up as it feels a bit gloomy, pool was spotless lifeguards great with the kids, lovely steam room and sauna and nice that they have a lane allocated for people who just want to swim. All staff were very friendly!

Overall we’ve had a fabulous stay at The Bay/ Arthur’s Escape, the property is lovely, modernised and love the kind gestures like leaving toys/games and dvds/books etc really felt home from home! The telly is ginormous and we loved watching films on an evening!

We would definitely come back and have already recommended this to our friends and family we’ve had a fab time ❤️
