We have stayed at Snape Maltings several times but this was our first time in 8 Iken View. Its location with the view over the marshes is excellent and means that it is peaceful even when the Maltings is busy, the decor and furniture was very welcoming and the facilities were very good. We shall definitely stay there again.

Stunning views from the living room and balcony, comfortable seating and well equipped kitchen, quality china and glass.
Fine comfortable beds and bed linen with warm bathrooms.
Lovely quiet location with great walking from the door step and of course lovely art, music, restaurants and the deli.

8, Iken View was exactly what we wanted for a short break. The accommodation was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Having access to a bathroom as well as the ensuite shower room was a bonus and we really appreciated the welcoming touches in the kitchen, such as ground coffee as well as a bottle of wine!

The view of the Iken Marshes from the full length upper floor sitting room French windows was beautiful and uninterrupted and the sofa and armchairs very comfortable. And of course the location within the Maltings complex is ideal for the Concert Hall, shopping and eating!

The weather was glorious on the Saturday of the weekend so we were able thoroughly to explore Aldeburgh and Orford, having an alfresco lunch from Pinney's Smokery sitting by the quay. We also loved our walk across the marshes to Iken, being fortunate enough to hear birdsong from curlews and skylarks. On Sunday the rain was relentless so we had breakfast in the delightful cafe on site then spent the day very comfortably in the sitting room, reading. We really appreciated the peace to unwind and have uninterrupted reading time.

The views were fabulous - and beautiful in the sunshine and in the deluges (we had both). Great location - either to stay put or to explore from (by car or foot). We all loved it.

Very impressed with and appreciative of Sue Partington and her team. Apartment itself spotless on arrival and very welcoming with Christmas tree and gifts. Just quite difficult to work the door keys on arrival.
A few more instructions about how things worked would have been helpful (eg we didn’t know until half way through the week that the bathroom mirrors hid shelving behind them) and a few spare blankets / duvets left in cupboards would have been helpful.
Kitchen wonderfully equipped though we did bring our own tea towels - one not enough - and a salad dryer would be great. Thanks for all the dishwasher tabs.
The two double beds are very comfortable but the two singles more appropriate for children than adults ( we were adults ).
These comments are made simply to suggest a few improvements to what was a great stay and we would happily stay again.

We found 8 Iken View to be a very comfortable, well equipped house with, of course, excellent views. The main living space is at the top, on the 2nd floor, maximising the breathtaking views. However, this involves a lot of stairs: not a problem for us but a considerable potential problem for less able people.

There were times when bits of the house felt chilly, and the complex heating system didn’t encourage any tweaking of the controls. We’re not sure what it would be like in deepest Winter.

Spotlessly clean, with fine linen and towels everywhere, and a welcoming bottle in the fridge, this house was a good base for a brief Autumn holiday. We went to a concert, had lunch in the River View Cafe and walked along the river and through Snape Warren. Amazing!

(We had slight difficulty booking for a period of just 5 nights, starting on a Thursday…but this was eventually settled.)

This is our third holiday at Snape Maltings and our second stay at 8 Iken View.

We find Snape Maltings an ideal place for a holiday with shops, cafes, theatre and a pub on your doorstep and lots of interesting places to visit nearby.

After a day out coming back and relaxing on the top floor living area of Iken View gives the holiday that something extra because of the amazing view of the river.

We would highly recommend Snape Maltings as a holiday destination.
