Beautiful location, Orcadian views at their best. Lovely comfortable accommodation. Relaxing time, enjoying the watching the wildlife at our door and far afield. Thoroughly recommend.
We stayed for 6 nights at Kirkquoy. The location is good for exploring the island, probably about 15 minute drive to Kirkwall but being rural suited our needs. The accommodation was spotless, well equipped with a beautiful view of Loch Harray. Lots of bird & other wildlife to see in the fields in front. Would definitely recommend for a family holiday.
Smart, modern well-equipped house on a small and quiet housing development on the edge of Kirkwall, very convenient for the town and as a base for touring Orkney. There was a mix up over the cleaning that was immediately resolved by Karen, the very responsive owner. It was also much cheaper to book direct than through a third party (who caused the mix up). Very satisfied.
Kitchen was well equipped except for the fact that there was only one frying pan. Bathroom and shower very good.
This is a well equipped spacious comfortable modern bungalow with a great view . Slightly let down by performance of letting agents who seemed reluctant to provide a written booking contract or access details when we needed them. They only accept bank transfer payments so you have no credit card protection. Disappointed that they declined to extend our stay by a day when the property was not booked because it didn't suit their cleaning schedule.
We loved Quoylee! We stayed for 10 days and the location was perfect for accessing the whole of the mainland and surrounding islands. The house feels like a new build so all amenities are modern. The under floor heating was so good! The views from the kitchen and living room were wonderful. Everyone nearby (neighbours, farmers, etc.) were so friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend Quoylee and a visit to Orkney.
The apartment was spacious with most of the necessary items for a comfortable stay. A few additions would be good though and I’ll send details to the letting agent. Main things - the welcome folder was sadly lacking in important information and there is no freezer compartment in the fridge. We paid a good price for this so expected better. On the positive side it’s a lovely old building and reasonably well furnished in a great central location.
