I had a wonderful time in this clean and cosy lodge. The location was excellent both in the countryside and near to Windermere.
We can't wait to return, what a beautiful place to stay! The cabin was so clean and tidy, the rooms where quite big for a cabin so we was surprised! All in all thank you for a lovely stay! We will be returning next year x
If you are considering staying in one of these pods I highly recommend it. They are beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy and warm in a lovely peaceful spot. The Brown Horse pub also does great food and a lovely breakfast!
Super lodge Very clean and comfortable Great location between Ambleside and windermere. Would definitely return.
A very enjoyable stay with everything u could possibly need very comfortable clean excellent location a very good welcoming package which was a lovely surprise will definitely be back
I paid for this break as a gift to my parents. Their feedback was as follows - Lovely clean and freshly presented lodge with a great lakeside location and view. A peaceful location in the park, especially as it was mid-week and off season during our stay. Would return again in the future. The only thing lacking was an information pack / instructions for the lodge (i.e fire, tv, microwave, oven) which would have been helpful. There was an issue with the tv connection, this conspired to be a site issue with a damaged cable. Chris from Lakes Cottages & Lodges phoned us promptly and visited to...more
Not our first time at White Cross Bay but first time in this lodge and using Lakes, Cottages & Lodges. Lodge is in a great spot with lovely views of the lake. The lodge is modern, spacious and clean with everything you could need. A great touch was the dedicated WiFi. Will definitely book again.
We had the most perfect stay at the High View Lodge. The view was stunning, and the area so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, comfortable beds and a fabulous hot tub.
This was our fourth stay at High Borrans (twice in the Shepherds Hut Percy and twice in Hazel)We love the peaceful situation on the farm. The site is perfect for Windermere and Bowness but just a short drive from the Northern lakes and towns.Cath the proprietor is a lovely lady who will come and have a chat and is always there to sort any problems you may have ( in our four visits we have had no problems whatsoever). The place has become our happy place for chilling out and relaxing. The lodges are modern and spotlessly clean and well maintained. We wish we could visit more often and are hoping to...more
We loved our stay at Potters Lodge and the whole place was spotless and had everything we needed. The only negative that I can say is that the frying pans need replacing as when I tried to cook fried eggs they just stuck to the pans. I tried both and they stuck to both of them. Everything else was amazing. So much do, we have booked again for May 2025.
We booked last minute to stay at High Borrans, Percy the Shepherd's Hut and we are so glad we did! A beautiful, cosy place to stay with everything you could possibly need. Perfect location, well designed and a super easy booking process. 100% will be booking again!
What a wonderful lodge. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The lodge was well equipt, modern, clean, cosy ! We are already planning our next visit. Lots to do and see in the area. Highly recommended.
Another super stay. Great location to be able to just walk from the lodge. Comfy and cosy accommodation.
We had a 4 day short break at High Borrans, the lodge was very comfortable and cosy and had everything you need and some nice additional touches. It’s in a lovely location at the end of a no through road, so lovely and peaceful, however, you can easily drive to Windermere, Ambleside within a few minutes and if you take Moorhowe Rd the views are We did some really nice walks, with the option of lower level or higher fell tops if you wish, we really enjoyed this because the area was new to us and it was so much quieter than the rest of the Lakes. We will definitely be back to enjoy those views ...more
Amazing dog friendly Lodge for us. They are well equipped and very clean. Bathrooms are reflective of a hotel stay and very spacious. Decking with gates are helpful to secure dogs. Slightly off the beaten track but that dydnt bother us. Owners, came to chrck at beginning and end of stay how the beak had gone which was lovely. My on'y suggestion is to change the sofa it wasn't comfortable or inviting. My daughter stayed at one of the non dog lodges, and her Lodge was utterly amazing. Definitely would recommend to others and would definitely return.
The lodge was of a very high standard and was very well equipped and very clean. The service and hospitality was of a very high standard it was very quite and very good for wildlife.and good views around, it also has many walks that you can do.The only thing from our point of view was a little remote for us.but apart from that could not fault it.
We had a lovely 3 night stay at Dovedale Lodge, it was lovely and clean and perfectly located on site to the lake and boathouse. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and chocolate for the children, which was a lovely touch, we have stayed twice before on Whitecross Bay but this lodge has been our favourite so far. The hot tub was an added bonus and we was lucky weather wise. Excellent stay, we look forward to visiting again in the future.
We have stayed in Windermere quite a few time but I must say this is one of the favourite places clean quiet and lovely scenery
Another lovely stay at High Borrans Farm. This time a New Years break. Everything was spotlessly clean as usual and a lovely tree-like light was a festive addition. A bottle of bubbly in the fridge was a lovely touch. We had some awful weather and spent a lot of time in the lodge which was cosy and warm and had everything we needed. Thanks Cathy for a fanatic stay.
Absolutely beautiful lodge in the most stunning location. Lodge all very clean. Beds comfortable. WiFi is an excellent addition. Hot tub was really nice. We had a wonderful week.
Relaxing retreat in a good location. Pod was cosy, well equipped including items for dogs and decorated to an excellent standard. The Brown Horse Inn serves excellent food and allows dogs in the bar area. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend booking.
Lovely Lodge in a great location. Great base for exploring surrounding area, dog friendly, nice pub on site with obliging staff,
This was our 3rd stay at this lodge, it’s a lovely lodge with everything you need for your stay. The lodge is on a nice quiet site in a picturesque valley, lovely place if you want a relaxing peaceful break or great place for walking.
I have already reviewed this Lodge and I repeat it looked lovely on arrival. Bright and clean. The hot tub was filling and was a huge bonus. However the place was quite shabby. Peeling damp ceiling in ensuite ...wall paper in smaller bedroom was lifting. The towels provided were shabby, the top of the chest of drawers was lifting off and the dishwasher front front was peeling. None of these things are the end of the world . My biggest issue was that the twin beds were so uncomfortable that sleep was an issue. The mattresses were not suitable for adults
Annies View is a very clean and comfortable apartment,it has all necesary facilities and and is spacious enough for 2 people,it also has a good view down to the Lake.It was also value for money and i would highly recommend Annies View for a stay
The lodge is still our favourite aspect of coming to the Lake District. This is our 3rd time at this lodge over a 4 year period. Apart from a few small cosmetic issues, most likely just through wear and tear, the lodge is still lovely. Great supply of kitchen ware and the hot tub is absolutely awesome - although with the canopy that used to be there, makes it unusable when it rains. But it's warm, the beds are comfy and its slightly more isolated than a lot of the other lodges on the site, which is perfect for privacy and great when using the Hot Tub. We will be back for sure!
Kitchen door didn’t close, dirt behind bed, shower screen runner broken in en-suite - this lodge requires some attention to detail and a deep clean - move beds and sofa! Not enough glasses and dishes.
We loved Badgers Rest .It was a beautiful lodge in a very quiet position with beautiful views up the valley. It was very spacious and very comfortable bed .We loved seeing all the wildlife through the long windows and enjoyed feeding all the birds and squirrels. We had a very relaxed few days and wished we could have stayed longer .Lots of lovely walks in the area and good pubs .The only negatives was the microwave didn't seem to be working properly and the WiFi wasn't too good .But that wouldn't stop me going back
Great location Could have been cleaned a little better in places. The drawers in the kitchen needed fixing but we’re still workable Very comfortable and spacious would go back.
My honest review is on TripAdvisor as I just couldn't believe the state of the place and needed unsuspecting people to know before they part with their money, as its not a cheap place to hire, its dreadful.. 1, the exterior of the lodge is shameful whoever owns this place should be ashamed of themselves. Dead plants and dirty mats greet you, and the extremely slippy and dirty decking. 2. filthy stained carpets as you enter, being dog friendly is no excuse. 3. smell of damp in the hall toilet and twin bedroom greets you, it is very bad, I wouldn't put my dogs in that bedroom let alone ch...more
