If you are considering staying in one of these pods I highly recommend it. They are beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy and warm in a lovely peaceful spot. The Brown Horse pub also does great food and a lovely breakfast!
Fantastic base for our holiday - perfect location. The track to get to the retreat is quite steep but a good size parking space when you get there. Lodge was clean, tidy and had everything you need to spend a fabulous week in the Lakes. Will definitely return as soon as we can! And thanks for sending us the beautiful weather as well
You really get what you paid for. The location is just 10-15 mins drive away from bowness of Windermere so it’s really a good location. We were able to have a good time and rest as there was less noise as the environment was very peaceful. And to add up, the pod was so aesthetic yet modern. Would highly recommend!
3rd visit in 4 years, great location looking over the lake. Really easy to get out and on the road too. Definitely recommend.
Have stayed at this site on many occasions lovely place, as for the lodge it was perfect there where only 2 of us so plenty of room well furnished everything was there that we needed and lovely views from the decking. My only negatives are the steps leading up to the lodge some where loose (quick fix) the decking some of the boards need replacing asap (rotted) not much to fix and lastly the door on the washing machine! We had a fantastic stay at Betteridge, the lodge was spotless, everything we needed, the beds so comfy, the rooftop terrace a lovely bonus as we had excellent weather, so near to the lake, outside furniture so comfy, huge parasol which came in really handy has we spent much of our time outside has weather fantastic, Would love to go back to Betteridge lodge very soon, best lodge we have stayed in, very well maintained.
Really helpful staff. Location is right on the lake which appears and disappears depending on the weather.
We have stayed at Potters Lodge 4 times now and it is our favourite place to be on the site - the lodge offers everything and is spacious and just like home from home. The hot tub is so good and with the lodge very close to the lake it’s beautiful sat in the hot tub or chilling on the patio chairs. Inside offers good comfy beds, great showers - kitchen is also great with everything offered to help with cooking, etc. Beautiful lodge
Lovely base for exploring the Lake district. Whether walking or taking a bus ride. Lots of destinations to get too by bus only disadvantage with the bus transport is they can sometimes not turn up as I experienced on my stay.
Relaxing retreat in a good location. Pod was cosy, well equipped including items for dogs and decorated to an excellent standard. The Brown Horse Inn serves excellent food and allows dogs in the bar area. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend booking.
We stayed during a great week of sunshine. The tree shading the decking was invaluable as it meant we could sit outside and enjoy the view in the extreme heat. We found our hosts to be very responsive. There were a couple of maintenance issues but these did not affect our holiday.

Very disappointed. I would not recommend a stay at this lodge until it is fully refurbished inside, furniture is well beyond sell by date. Location on Pony Meadow is great with lovely views but the lodge itself needs immediate attention for paying guests as looks very tired inside. We’ve stayed in several nearby lodges which are far superior for the same price. I did see similar reviews and feel sometimes they can be a bit harsh but sadly it is the case with High View Lodge. Lovely Lodge with great views, it’s a very comfortable lodge & in a nice quiet spot on the park.We enjoyed our stay & the lodge had everything we needed, we will be back.
We stayed as a family of 4 with a dog. Upon arrival everything was great, the Lodge was clean and tidy, bathrooms were clean and besa all clean and fresh. The hot tub was also nice and hot, which other reviews had noted wasnt up to temperature when they arrived. It was only after the first day we noticed a few niggles, mouldy door frames/window frames in the bedrooms, dusty blinds, dusty surfaces in the bathroom, just a little bit grubby all around really.
