Lovely lodge in a very beautiful area of the Lakes .We love Troutbeck it's a much quieter part of the Lake District. Some lovely pubs and places to eat nearby .And some lovely walks on your doorstep .The lodge was very spacious and comfortable and lovely and warm .Had lovely views too .
If you are considering staying in one of these pods I highly recommend it. They are beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy and warm in a lovely peaceful spot. The Brown Horse pub also does great food and a lovely breakfast!
Fantastic base for our holiday - perfect location. The track to get to the retreat is quite steep but a good size parking space when you get there. Lodge was clean, tidy and had everything you need to spend a fabulous week in the Lakes. Will definitely return as soon as we can! And thanks for sending us the beautiful weather as well
You really get what you paid for. The location is just 10-15 mins drive away from bowness of Windermere so it’s really a good location. We were able to have a good time and rest as there was less noise as the environment was very peaceful. And to add up, the pod was so aesthetic yet modern. Would highly recommend!
3rd visit in 4 years, great location looking over the lake. Really easy to get out and on the road too. Definitely recommend.
We have stayed on white cross bay 7 times now in 5 different lodges. This one is by far our favourite. Ultra clean and everything we could wish for. Mattresses are a little hard though some would prefer that. I think this lodge cannot be beaten on this park. We will be returning
We had a fantastic stay at Betteridge, the lodge was spotless, everything we needed, the beds so comfy, the rooftop terrace a lovely bonus as we had excellent weather, so near to the lake, outside furniture so comfy, huge parasol which came in really handy has we spent much of our time outside has weather fantastic, Would love to go back to Betteridge lodge very soon, best lodge we have stayed in, very well maintained.
Great location. Marked down for small issues: windows had loads of child handprints, no welcome pack explaining how things work (e.g heating ), shower door off rail, toilet paper holders loose. None of theses had any detrimental effect on our holiday. The kitchen is really very well equipped. We will definitely book again.
Lovely base for exploring the Lake district. Whether walking or taking a bus ride. Lots of destinations to get too by bus only disadvantage with the bus transport is they can sometimes not turn up as I experienced on my stay.
4 night mid week break in the Easter holidays. We booked with a special offer so was a reasonable price for school holidays. The lodge is in a lovely area of the park near to the lake. The lodge is nice, but is compact compared to others - I would describe more as a big static caravan. Stayed with my husband and 2 sons aged 8 & 11. We dropped on with gorgeous weather so were outside a lot, but would have been a bit cramped if we were inside a lot in worse weather. The hot tub was gorgeous and had a lovely lake view. Recommend this lodge, but more for a couple or small / young family.
Relaxing retreat in a good location. Pod was cosy, well equipped including items for dogs and decorated to an excellent standard. The Brown Horse Inn serves excellent food and allows dogs in the bar area. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend booking.
Great location right by the lake. Lodge is comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful views of the lake.
We spent New Year at Annie’s View . Beautifully appointed apartment. Fabulous views from the lounge . Right on the edge of the Dales Way for walking and close to Brantfell . We would recommend for two people. A little gem !
The lodge is comfortable and in an excellent location. It is spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. Bathrooms are in need of attention, the main bathroom has a broken mould shower seal and mould/dirt on ceiling and seals. The ensuite shower was also mouldy in places. Toilets were not cleaned thoroughly on arrival and there were tea stains on kitchen flooring and carpet needed hoovering. The cleanliness was just not good enough. We suffered a power cut from 10am to 2am on new years eve which left us with no electric no light or heating we had to go and buy camping lights to see us through ...more
Cleanliness upon arrival wasn’t great and we spent the first hour cleaning and hoovering. That would be the only negative during our stay to be fair. The lodge itself was ideally located for exploring Windermere and Ambleside with great walks on the doorstep. A nice warm comfy lodge and The hot tub was great too. Would definitely go back.
An amazing place It was really quiet as I hoped for but it is close to the boats pier. We had a toddler and an infant so we could not visit much but it was what we were looking for. Lakes Cottages and Lodges really surprised me when I received a curtesy call just to let me know that there will be a Christmas tree. It was not a woow tree BUT it just made our Christmas break fantastic. Thank you for that
We had an enjoyable stay Mon-Fri in the May half term, during very hot weather. The lodge was well presented, comfortable and spacious in a nice location on the park. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not up to temperature on our first evening and was too cool to get in as it had been set at the wrong temperature. Lakes Cottages and Lodges advised us how to rectify this and it was up to temp by the following day. There were a few other annoying issues during our stay including the fridge not adequately cooling the contents, very low water pressure (at some points no water or just a trickle co...more
