I went there with my 15-year-old daughter for a few days in November. Although the days were short and it got cold, we did not want to leave. It was the experience of being peaceful and quiet. Alexandra is a fantastic hostess. She is kind, generous, and available.
When you first arrive, try to do so in the daylight to appreciate it, become familiar with the place, and become comfortable with how quiet and secluded it is.

Our stay at Gardener's Cottage was delightful. Despite it's old world charm having been tastefully and thoughtfully preserved, the cottage is also up to the minute where it matters for comfort! Very efficient heating and plumbing meant that even waking up to a picturesque, but cold and frosty, morning, we were warm and cosy in our cottage cocoon! We were blessed with blue skies and golden autumn sunshine so fully appreciated the rural situation of the cottage itself, but the close proximity to Crieff with it's independent shops and great choice of restaurants ( check out G's Bistro in particular) means you have the best of both worlds. Alexandra was a warm and helpful host and a lot of hard work has gone into making this such an excellent self catered option.

We have often stayed at Monzie and even brought our extended family! This is our favorite place to go in the world. The Gardener's Cottage is wonderfully decorated and appointed. We love waking up to the sound of the brook outside our window with the wonderful mountain view. We sit in the cozy kitchen in the morning with tea and coffee to plan our day trips around the beautiful countryside and visit nearby villages. We often just take walks on the property and say hello to the sheep and cows (they are good listeners but not great conversationalists!) Finally, we enjoy the fireplace in the living room at the end of each day. Everything is magical at this cottage, and we have never been disappointed. The owners are fantastic and have always responded to all requests to ensure our comfort over the years. Highly recommended.

A very beautiful and well-updated cottage located in a secluded part of one of the most beautiful walking areas of Scotland. Near the quaint town of Crieff, which has everything from groceries to restaurants and shops. We stayed with young children, and they loved it (especially seeing the sheep and cows in the nearby pastures every day!).

Gardeners Cottage is a very nice 2 bedroomed cottage in the Monzie Castle estate. It is very secluded, well away from public roads and accessed down an estate road that leads nowhere else (we did see a few horses and riders going past). The garden is lovely, though we didn't get the best use of it due to the Scottish weather. The two bedrooms are both generous in size with comfortable beds. The kitchen / diner is smart and well equipped. There is a separate utility / boot room which we found very useful after we had been out for the day. Wifi is adequate for checking emails but insufficient to stream TV programmes.

I was traveling with my parents an my mom admires Beatrix Potter very much. So it was perfect to have a stay in surroundings similar to her life. The location was in a beautiful setting. The cottage itself in very good condition and Alexandra was a courteous host. In addition the EV-charging station was very helpful. I definitely recommend to stay in this cottage.

The Cottage was beautiful surrounded by a gardens, sheep, cows up on the hill. We saw pheasants, rabbits and what a real Scottish countryside feels like. The house had beautiful flowers for our arrival. It was warm, the shower was good. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and we had a fantastic 4 days stay. It's located near the town of Crieff and the whiskey distillery where we had a tour and lunch. Great place from which to see the Highlands. Take day trips in all directions. One hour from Glasgow and one hour from Edinburgh. From here we took day drives up north. Highly recommended. Super romantic. It was our anniversary and friends came to meet us from London. This cottage is very comfortable for 4 adults.

We had an absolutely wonderful few days at the Gardener's Cottage, which has charming, big rooms, lots of natural light and is tucked away on a lovely, sprawling Perthshire estate. A delightful springboard for the locality, or just a peaceful retreat to read, listen to the birds, or marvel at the woodland......

What a perfectly peaceful stay for a group of three sisters who needed some down time after busy days touring Scotland. It’s literally a picture out of Pride and Prejudice. Walking down the lane, hearing the creek and sheep, being in the middle of nowhere, it seems. It’s just lovely. The cottage itself is perfection. Decor is beautiful, rooms are comfortable, everything clean. Washer and dryer was a delightful surprise. And the brownies! What a treat! Will come back!

We loved our stay in the Gardener's Cottage on the Monzie Estate. It had lovely views and wonderful small touches. The accommodations were true to the pictures and the grounds were lovely to explore. We stayed during the winter, so mostly cozied up indoors and enjoyed the fireplace.

Idyllic cottage in idyllic setting. Peaceful surroundings with walks direct from the cottage in beautiful Perthshire countryside. Red squirrels visited the garden. Spacious well equipped cottage, utility room and tiled/ wood floors ideal when bringing dog. Lovely quality and tasteful furnishings with comfortable beds. Good selection of shops and places to eat on nearby Crieff also a good base to explore further into Perthshire

I booked the cottage so I could get some writing done and it was perfect for this purpose. Comfy, quiet and well stocked. It is also beautifully decorated which I really appreciate. Location is great too and we took some nice walks on the estate. Wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back! Thanks for having us.

Superb location. Such a lovely place and the drive into the estate was so charming, with sheep, stones, the castle, and views. The host was very communicative and sweet. There were bespoke touches in the house and plenty of tea/coffee for morning, which I always really appreciate. Highly recommend.

If I could rate Monzie Estate higher than 5 stars I would. A dear friend and I stayed in the Gardner's Cottage for a week at the end of September 2022 and it was absolute bliss (visiting from the US). The property is stunning and really fun to explore, the cottage was so comfortable it felt like home (plus it is very well appointed and designed - and clean!), Alexandra was the most gracious and generous host (fresh cut flowers, home made brownies, and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived; plus she was super responsive before and during our stay, and gave us a castle tour!), and the location couldn't be better for exploring the surrounding area and attractions.My favorite part of our 1 week of exploring around Scotland, was Monzie. We will be back and look forward to it being sooner rather than later!

Fantastic stay at a truly unique location. If you want to feel like you are miles from anywhere, but actually close to some civilisation, then the Gardeners Cottage is the place for you. Secluded location in the middle of the Monzie Estate, but just a couple of miles from Crieff, Gardeners Cottage is idyllic, quiet, but still very accessible. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed, with all you would need for a short or extended stay (with two small children the ability to cook at home and wash clothes is important, and that is all possible). The team at Monzie are really great, with good communication, and thoughtful touches such as wine, flowers and brownies on arrival.
It is a lovely location to really get away from the bustle, but still have all you could need close to hand.
We’ll definitely be back.

We had a marvellous stay at the Gardener's Cottage on the Monzie Estate. The cottage was immaculate with plenty of space for 2 adults and a large dog, and top quality appliances and kitchen utensils. The remote location was perfect for anyone seeking to escape it all and enjoy the peaceful Scottish countryside. Nearby Crieff is 10 mins drive and has some excellent cafes, food shops and restaurants with plenty of well-marked easy to moderate walks. Also very close is the Glenturret distillery which is well worth a visit, although the expensive Michelin-starred restaurant there gets booked up several months in advance. We were also lucky to enjoy a tour of Monzie Castle by its owners, giving a true insight into the heritage of the area. All-in-all a relaxing, very enjoyable stay. NB- The track leading to the cottage is a bit rocky in places, but unless your car has very low ground clearance this shouldn't be a problem.

This is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. The ambience is made so special by the quality of the interior along with the classic exterior. Everything you will need has been thought of and provided, including fluffy bath robes and great quality toiletries. Gardener’s Cottage is a magical delight, a real retreat. It is spacious but cosy, comfortable as well as stylish, and very well equipped. Unlike many holiday cottages, the kitchen is properly equipped for cooking, with good pans etc and everything else you might need (including ice in the freezer!). On top of that, the kitchen has a very comfortable sofa and amazing views out to the garden, as does the lounge - beautiful rhododendrons, roses and other plants. Great beds (and bed linen), great sofas, lovely open fire, deer and hare all around - there is nothing not to love about this cottage.

Gardener's Cottage is in an idyllic location, hidden down a private track. We were welcomed by the best brownies I have tasted and a lovely bottle of red wine. The cottage was spotlessly clean with lovely furnishings. There are great walks right outside the front door. And a lovely garden. If you are looking for an amazing place to escape and relax to, this is it!
