I cannot rate Compton Pool highly enough. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The cottage was imacculate and there were so many little touches that really made it feel like a home from home. There were quite a lot of us from 3 different households but we never felt like we lacked space or privacy. The pool, games room and small gym were great ways to spend the evenings and were well equipped. The location is excellent with lots of things to see and do nearby. We had a fantastic stay at Compton Pool and none of us wanted to leave at the end! Our deepest thanks to the owners who went above and beyond to make our family time together so special and memorable.

The cottage was just stunning with lots of little touches to make it feel very homely and everything we could possibly need during our stay

Beautiful cottages in a scenic location. Very child friendly and the indoor heated pool was the best part. Everyone enjoyed there stay. Definitely recommend it.

We had a three generation family holiday at Compton Pool.
We had Ambrook Cottage and Redlake cottage.
The welcome was warm and friendly.
The cottages were perfect for our needs and very well stocked. I think Debbie and Steve have nailed it as we had everything we needed and more.
The pool was clean and warm which was a real bonus on wet days for all the children.
They all loved the animals to feed, and the two boys were patiently taught to fish by Steve, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
There really is something for everyone,
age range late seventies down to 3yr old.
Plenty to do in the area, lots to see.
All things considered it was good value for money and we would recommend Compton Pool .

The freedom the boys had in a safe environment.

This is an amazing place to stay.Every need was catered for. Our 3 generation family loved Ambrook cottage. Plenty of on site facilities to keep everyone happy. Quiet and peaceful surroundings,yet only 10 minutes away to local amenities. Debbie and Paul deserve all the accolades. Going above and beyond to make our holiday enjoyable. We will hopefully return in the very near future. Our grand children did not want to leave. They loved the swimming pool, feeding the animals and playing chess. A big thank you to Debbie,Paul and Dexter.

Not really. But maybe better lighting over kitchen work surfaces.

Ambroke worked very well for our multi generation family. It was very comfortable and beds and sofas very relaxing. The boys had plenty of space to play indoors but were mostly outside with new friends swimming, in the games barn or on the outdoor climbing frame and trampoline.
The complex is very well suited to children and adults. We have been visiting since our sons were little so it’s satisfying to see another generation enjoying the splendid facilities.

Beautiful setting, well maintained, clean & tidy. Perfect size for our family. All equipment worked well and the plentiful supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery and pots and pans were as per the inventory. Washing machine was an added bonus with a young family. Going forward the cottage would benefit from some new sofas in the lounge as they are getting a bit saggy and low. We had a lot of flying insects (not flies), especially in the kitchen. Pool was great. The home made cake on arrival was appreciated. We had lovely weather for our stay, which always helps.

More counter top space and cupboard space for food etc. More modern bedroom furniture.

Ambrook is a wonderful, spacious cottage for up to 8 people (we were 7). Beds were really comfortable and the kitchen and living areas had everything we needed for a week's stay over the Christmas period. Debbie and Paul were very kind and thoughtful hosts, providing extra table and chairs for when others in our party staying in another cottage joined us for dinner. The Christmas welcome pack and decorations were spot on and the whole complex itself looked very festive.

The swimming pool was excellent and we enjoyed using it every day. Even though other cottages were in use, the walls were thick and we felt very secluded and able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Is there anything you think needs improving at Compton Pool?
The recommended route really is the best way in and out, wherever you are coming from / going to. An extra big warning to definitely not use satnav or google for route planning might have helped our group find their way easier. Thankfully locals in Compton were helpful and provided torches and assistance as phone/data reception was patchy at best.

Thank you so much to Debbie, Paul and Dexter for making our stay at Ambrook cottage so warm and welcoming.
We had a fantastic family break with our young children. The cottage, facilities and grounds were beautiful and the location is perfect for day trips to explore Devon and beyond. We would love to come back to visit again soon - Thank you!

Really nice break in a wonderful location. Just about everything was perfect and really appreciated being able to “customise” our booking dates! The only “nitpicking” feedback would mention some slightly tired cooking utensils and a somewhat dated hifi that none of us could operate via Bluetooth. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return!

What a fantastic location and venue.
Compton Pools Farm is a great holiday destination and the facilities and management team are second to none.
A great welcome is followed by a wonderful cottage ideal for groups with great care and attention paid towards cleanliness and amenities.

Compton ticked all the boxes. All members of the family, Grandparents to Grandchildren had a brilliant time. The Easter egg hunt was a huge hit. Swimming pool was clean and warm and the tennis court in good condition. The animals were great fun for the children. We shall be returning. Thank you.

Compton Pool Farm is a complex of farm cottages situated inland from Paington in lovely countryside. The standard of accomodation is excellent and the whole operation well run. The facilities are great for kids with indoor swimming pool, tennis court, swings ,trampoline and safe outside play areas. There is also an indoor play area with table football, billiards, etc for bad weather. Children will enjoy feed the animals every day. The owners and staff and very helpful and provide lots of useful information to help you enjoy your stay. Several good pubs close by and Dartmoor one way and the coast and beaches the other .
An excellent choice
