We had a restful week in Arcata, a lovely one bedroom apartment within a beautifully restored farmhouse. We were lucky to have the pool to ourselves as there were no other guests. The owner Ann-Marie was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable of the area and we enjoyed her company. You'd need a car to fully explore the area and enjoy the many delightful hilltop villages within a short drive. We visited Florence, Arrezzo, Cortona and Montepulciani which are all within an hour's drive (or a train journey in the case of Florence). Would recommend booking local restaurants for evening meal during hi...more
Annemarie was very friendly and hospitable. The location is stunning, very rural yet within easy commute to Florence, Sienna and all the wonderful little towns and villages around about. Loved having the pool. Plenty of lovely places to eat, especially recommend the little fish restaurant that Annemarie took us too that is open Friday/Sat/Sunday only. Will definitely return one day.
Vallevista provides a luxury, discreet and quiet home from home experience, nestled among sunflowers, European Oak and Italian Cypress trees. We found the views stunning, night skies wonderful, pool always kept clean and a perfect size for a family of five. Able to charge our car overnight. Maria Teresa, the owner of the estate, always on hand to help. A perfect holiday in a great location with everything on doorstep - even Venice for a day trip. A very special find.
We had a lovely week’s holiday as Casa Allioni. The house is a home from home complete with lovely Mango the cat. There are beautiful views across the valley from the house and the pool, making it an excellent sunbathing spot! It’s a great place to explore some of the main attractions of Tuscany - Siena, Perugia, Florence etc. more locally there are very pretty villages to explore. Beverly made us feel very welcome in her home and we would love to come back - it was an amazing week that flew by!
If you’re looking for the ultimate immersive Tuscan experience, this is your villa. The photos on the webpage pale in comparison to seeing it up close and personal. From the rustic stone, to the various seating areas all with a beautiful view of the countryside, dreamy bedrooms, and piece de resistance salt water pool, absolute perfection. The house had a certain sweet rose scent. Let’s talk about the plum trees as you park and grapes hanging from the wood column walkway. Herb garden? A short drive from a lovely alfresco eatery and neighboring San Donato. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! I can not...more
The flat was elegant and comfortable; we felt that every item had been carefully selected to add to the overall effect. The location was ideal for viewing the sights of Florence - the art, the buildings, the shops… We were close to the Duomo and within easy walking reach of the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio. The choice of restaurants and cafes was amazing! We had a really enjoyable few days and hope to return to this property at some point - we relished the feeling that we were actually living in this beautiful city for a few days!
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Goga. The villa is incredible - a step back in time and the perfect Tuscan experience. The Villa is exquisite and the location perfect. We explored Tuscany but also enjoyed quite a few days by the pool enjoying the landscape! We had four different families and various children join us at times and everyone was equally in love with the Villa. Jacapo, our host, was incredible. A lovely man who made the stay that much more special. We’ll definitely be back.
A lovely, quaint, historic house in the centre of the village. Only steps away from shops, bars and restaurants. The house is spacious and full of character, with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. From the terrace with amazing views to the quaint shower room with amazing views and you even have a car space! We loved it and we will be back!
A very lovely house and garden- my personal favourite so far after many years visiting Umbria and Tuscany. Travel books etc now out of date but most people will bring their own maps, guidebooks etc. Also it would be useful to update the informationm on local trattorias/gelaterias, etc- with accurate closing days/times - e.g., the nice piazzeria/gelateria/trattoria in Civitella was closed several days in the week but we had to work this out by trial and error. Some personal recommendations on 'basic' and more 'sophisicated' places to eat would be helpful!
We absolutely loved our time at Docciole. You will be welcomed by lovely Anna who’s family home it is. It is a typical Tuscan stone farmhouse with a lovely homely feeling and loads of space for living inside and out. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor kitchen under a grape vine pergola and the swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. It is exceptionally well equipped for cooking and eating Anna is a perfect host and responded to the small issues that cropped up. It is a short walk to charming Radda in Chianti with spectacular views across Tuscan countryside, some tourist shops and a useful C...more
Those willing to navigate a couple of kilometres on a rocky rural track will be amply rewarded when they get to Casa del Pastore, a well-equipped but relaxed house with absolutely stunning views of Mt Amiata and the Val d'Orcia. They'll get a warm and friendly welcome from Mike and Baal who look after the house, and can enjoy a stay at the heart of one of the most beautiful and remote regions of southern Tuscany in complete comfort. The house is well looked-after, with a great pool, decent satellite broadband and loads of space - and a view that catches your breath every time you step out the...more
Castelonchio is in a beautiful hillside location with great views. The house, gardens and pool are all of very good quality and well equipped. The owners live next door and managed a perfect balance of being available and helpful without intruding on our holiday. The local area is full of interesting places to visit and things to do. There is no downside to staying here. We will definitely return.
Me and my family including six adults, one child and one baby stayed at Villa Ragnana for five nights and we couldn't have found a better place! Radicondoli is a beatiful village with a handful of nice eateries, a small supermarket and amazing panoramas - wherever you are. The kind and caring owner of Villa Ragnana was a lovely host and the house covered all our needs. The outside areas including the swimmingpool are wonderful too. The booking agency was extremely helpful and made us feel much welcome and well-prepared. All in all a sublime experience!
With 14 people staying at this property ( taking all 8 double rooms) we have had a fabulous time with plenty of room for all. Extremely relaxing and convenient location ( our second time renting this property). We had a dinner party for 16 people which worked so well in the huge dining room. We have enjoyed wonderful breakfasts prepared by extremely hard working , cheerful ladies who also cleaned the rooms on a daily basis. We certainly have no complaints about anything . Wonderful holiday - molto grazie!
We want to express our appreciation to the fantastic staff at Lornano, Malvasia. They were very anxious to meet any of our requests and answered questions providing us with locations of restaurants and groceries. The location is quite central to many of the hill towns in Tuscany and close proximity to the highway. We certainly enjoyed tasting the wines!
Casa Umbra is the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing break. Nestled in the hillside, surrounded by nature and incredible views, it really does offer a everything you need for a complete getaway. We could not have asked for a better place to enjoy Southern Umbria. The access road is steep, so a larger car (4X4) is recommended.
The apartment was lovely, perfect for 2, although with the help of our hosts we managed to comfortably fit in our adult daughter. The location is idyllic, staff charming and the wine is superb. On arrival, tired and hot, we could have done with some help transferring luggage to the apartment ( not near the car park). We did point out but it wasn’t too much of an issue, that the fridge only kept thinks slightly cool not chilled. Overall it was a super break and we would most certainly return.
Casa Guelfi did not meet the expectations set by the Invitation to Tuscany website. There were too many operational and cosmetic issues which lowered the standard of the property. It may have been a high standard some years ago but not now. Location is ok but not brilliant, steep narrow drive only suitable for a small car, not much else nearby. Would not return.
Had an amazing time at this lovely peaceful getaway. The caretaker Sonia and her family where very helpful people from the get go, you could tell they had taken care of the place. Beautiful surroundings and great value for money if your looking a peaceful getaway>
Rustico is in a stunning location and the views are incredible. Elvira, Katia and the rest of the family were so welcoming and helpful the whole time we were there. The pool is perfectly located and there are plenty of sunbeds to use. We would definitely return again !!
A lovely tranquil home with plenty of space inside and out, perfect for our family of 10. A fantastic swimming pool and tennis court for both adults and children to enjoy. The views are breathtaking and the location was perfect for us. Thanks!
We had a wonderful holiday in Suderia. Daniel from the UK was extremely helpful with information about the property and arranging car hire for us. Emy, the owner, was very welcoming and also considerate in lots of ways that helped to make our stay very relaxing. The property and surrounding scenery was stunningly beautiful. We have many fantastic memories from our stay. Thank you all very much for your hard work.
Lovely villa in the Tuscan Hills. Service and communication was friendly and helpful. Great for families.
This elegant villa is spacious with heavenly, breathtaking views. The pool and gardens are impressive and well-maintained. The different areas inside and out to work or be creative - including a Yamaha piano keyboard - were wonderful. The breakfast service of coffee and croissants was appreciated. If it had included tea, milk, cereal and some fresh fruit it would have been ideal. The main draw back was the loss of WiFi for much of the stay which resulted in eye watering roaming charges and missing deadlines as the stay had been planned with decent WiFi being available at the villa. The house was exactly as described, in a very beautiful Tuscan setting with great views of Campiglia Marittima and the sea. The house has lots of places to sit, relax, eat, in sun or shade, as required. The wood fired pizza oven was gainfully employed as was the wood fired BBQ. The unsurfaced road and access track to it was a bit bumpy and narrow for the SUV we hired, but manageable with care, and was walkable to Campiglia in 20 mins or so. We were early in the season and the garden was still a bit wild, with opinion divided as to the degree of charm that added! The surrounding area is ...more
