Warm welcome and fantastic first impressions. Loved Caladh, great open plan space, warm, first class furnishings and a terrific view. Can't say anything that hasn't already been said about the Abbey. Awesome building and history. Really enjoyed the pool and sauna time, particularly the fact you can book a private slot, great idea. Sets you up for the day ahead. We found only one thing a little disappointing and that was the food in the local restaurant. It just felt very basic with below average food and not a dining restaurant, although the staff were friendly if not a little anxio...more
Everything was perfect. Accomodation very suitable for disabled and clean. Concierge was very helpful and facilities were great.
Beautiful setting and perfect as a base to explore the surrounding area. The Fraser Suite is comfortable with lovely views we found it very tranquil and quiet. Everything we needed was provided in the property . The only very small gripe is the leather couches were hard and not the most comfortable to rest on after a long days exploration.
The accomadation was superb and maintained to a very good standard. The view from the windows was worth all the stairs, amazing view of Loch Ness. We all had a fantastic time and would highly recommend.
I can only say that we were more than surprised by the location and the apartment we had the pleasure to stay. There is not much more to say as that I can only recommend this location.
I cannot imagine a more magical location. Driving into the grounds of the old Abbey took our breath away. The gardens, the tree lined drive, the Abbey itself, the views of Loch Ness, the quick path to town.....WOW!!! Then we entered our flat (Straun) and we were welcomed home. The suite had beautiful furnishings, tall ceilings, old architectural details and a modern kitchen and bath rooms. This made our stay perfect. We could not have picked a better place to stay in Scotland to explore the highlands!
Just as the others explained: superb stay at an excellent location. The amenities are good and the staff was super. Meanwhile if you can improve a little on the heating. :) Looking forward to come back again.
Our apartment was beautiful! The building itself is absolutely stunning and there is a lot to keep you entertained. Our view overlooked the large chessboard and old hallways which was lovely. Upon arrival we were greeted by the management team and given a tour of the building with some historic information. The only negative things I would say about this apartment is that the single beds creak a lot so the people in that room didn't get much sleep when one of them turned in the night and the en-suite shower is quite small - none of these things would stop me from going again though.
Most enjoyable stay in late September 2018, proving very flexible to accommodate land-based family adults and children whilst combining with yacht charter on The Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. (2-3 minutes from Boat pontoons at the entrance to the Canal). The attractive conversion within the Abbey Church provided two good sized bedrooms (one ensuite), with added flexibility in lower lounge to accommodate the children on sofa beds, with great open plan dining and kitchen galley on upper level - allowing all 9 of us to sit at the large dining table for meals when required. Added benefit of being...more
Just returned home after an amazing 8 night stay at the Highland club. We chose the Scriptorium 2 apartment for it's beautiful original abbey features the apartment had a modern well equipped kitchen and very large bathroom the bedroom was outstanding with its antique style king size bed beneath a vaulted ceiling, stone arch and surrounded by stained glass windows it was a real gem. The abbey and it's grounds is an ideal place for relaxing holiday with it's indoor swimming pool steam room and sauna there's plenty to do within the abbey. The only disappointment was the Boathouse restaurants w...more
After initially arriving my fiancé and I were met by Mike from The Highland Club - a very warm welcome was given and a good tour to acquaint us with the location and services. No words can fully describe entering St Andrew's Chapel - its a place you have to see for yourselves. It is wonderful. The most memorable apartment I have ever stayed in. And immediately it felt like home. Warm and very very comfortable. It had everything you could possibly need. A great escape from the life of London we normally live. We will never forget staying there and seeing The Highlands and hope very much to ret...more
Abbey Garden is a very nice apartment with easy access, two nice bathrooms, good space and a private garden. It is also close to the pool. And we enjoyed our private Bunny family every morning and evening. Nice quiet place in secluded park. Excellent starting point for many sightseeing tours. Service as good as always ! Food at the boat house restaurant also remains at high level. Looking forward to come back.
We were very pleased to find this location for our holiday. We were even more pleased when we arrived and found it was exactly as advertised. The Dalwhinnie Cottage is presented very well. The Abbey it self is beautifully presented. The grounds well kept and very pleasant. Will be recommending to both family and friends.
It was an interesting g place to stay...great restaurant. Checking in was quite a bother, but the staff member who finally greeted us was very helpful and friendly.
Most enjoyable stay in Fort Augustus. Accommodation was very good with everything we could need. We weren't able to make use of the patio because the weather was too cold but it's an excellent facility. The restaurant on site was a bonus too. We will certainly visit again.
Beautiful place, good stay, not so cleaned. Good accomodation, wonderful view and landascape on the lanke. Very very kind Mike!!!!
