Everything was perfect. Accomodation very suitable for disabled and clean. Concierge was very helpful and facilities were great.
After two postponed attempts, due to the world falling apart, we eventually made it and are we glad we did. We were astonished by the size and quality of the apartment which on their own would have been perfect but with the availability amenities on site this was beyond expectations. We were sorry to leave but hope to return in the future.
Our third New Year at the Highland club and once again it was excellent. The positioning means you can’t get better views and the facilities are second to none. We made full use of the Games Room this year and the children enjoyed the football goals outside. We’ll certainly be back next year!
We spent 6 nights at this apartment and have had a wonderful time. The apartment is very spacious and well equipt. Lots of towels left for us to use and tea/coffee, milk and cleaning products which was very helpful. The grounds of the Highland Club provide plenty of activities and are well maintained. We made use of the tennis court - rackets were provided in the room and we also used the pool too. The location is fantastic for exploring the Highlands and although we did quite a bit of driving, it was lovely to be able to walk into Fort Augustus and explore the local shops and cafes. Be...more
Amazing campus. Beautiful little town. Plenty to eat and drink. Good base of operations to stay and take day trips from. No elevator was tough for a party of six with two 70+ year olds and luggage. Great place to stay at. Charles was extremely kind and helpful. Gave us a 30 minute tour to acquaint ourselves with the place.
This property has an excellent location and is very special! I loved the space available -I wish we could have stayed longer!
Abbey Garden is a very nice apartment with easy access, two nice bathrooms, good space and a private garden. It is also close to the pool. And we enjoyed our private Bunny family every morning and evening. Nice quiet place in secluded park. Excellent starting point for many sightseeing tours. Service as good as always ! Food at the boat house restaurant also remains at high level. Looking forward to come back.
An extremely comfortable apartment with everything you need for self-catering. The nearby Londis has a good range of food, including vegan produce, essential for my family. Everything was in good order, with a great amount of crockery, glasses etc. Tea-towels were also included, as well as all linens needed (which were changed between weeks - in fact the staff were great coming back a day later as I was washed out having a lazy day). The pool, sauna and steam room were wonderful, and they helped me unwind after days walking and unexpectedly almost climbing in the Cairngorms. The location of th...more
The apartment was very poorly maintained. The washing machine and dishwasher were broken. The oven was overheating burning everything unless you halved the cooking time. The oven glove was so thin it burnt my hand (not badly however). The curtains in the lounge were missing some hooks, the blind wasn't working properly, the blind in the main bedroom was broken. The wardrobe in the main bedroom was so full of miscellaneous equipment/rubbish it was impossible to hang clothes or store cases without using the second bedroom as a storage area (fortunately there were only two of us staying there). A converted chapel complete with stained glass windows is certainly among the more unusual places we've stayed, but what Highland Club have done to make the place homely, beautifully designed, and luxuriously functional really helped make our trip to Loch Ness special. The Christmas decorations in particular added an extra touch of magical cosiness. Which is good - because I proposed to my fiancée up on Allt na Criche during our stay so I'm very glad the accommodation was as lovely as I hoped! The one thing we thought might have been an issue - the room temperature in December - was completely...more
Spacious cottage! Ideal location for exploring the local area...park your car at start of your break and walk.
Spent 3 nights here & it certainly provided an ideal base for exploring Loch Ness / Fort Augustus area. The apartment is in a new wing so doesn't have the atmosphere & period features of the old abbey but the grounds and old building is lovely. The swimming pool is in the converted chapel. The apartment has all you need for a S/C stay however the pots & pans & cooking trays could do with renewing. The microwave is in the cupboard and only worked it you unplugged it & plugged it in again...a loose wire? I never did get the bottom oven to work & not sure what I was doing wrong. It has WI...more
Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at the Highland Club. The location is fantastic and a great base to explore the surrounding area. Service received was excellent with good communication. We would recommend and are looking forward to stay again in the future.
An amazing experience. Wonderful setting on the banks of Loch Ness and a delightful town at Fort Augustus. My son and his family joined us from America and they were impressed. The conversion of the building was very sympathetic. We all had a lovely week. Thank you.
Great place to stay. Clean & comfortable & the lounge & pool area were a bonus after a hard day exploring.
