Linhay certainly was a 5* property in every respect. Top quality furnishings & fittings, very comprehensively equipped & spotlessly clean on arrival. Nice to receive the items of local produce in the welcome pack. Lovely, peaceful outdoor space with beautiful views. The hot tub is well placed to enjoy the views, very private and well maintained throughout our stay. Graham & Jane were friendly hosts but not intrusive. My husband and I have been staying at East Trenean Farm for more than 10 years now. I have a large family, 9 children,5 grandchildren and we rented out the Watermill, Threshing and Corn Barns for my 60th birthday. There was 18 of us. My children had never stayed before and were both delighted and impressed with what East Trenean Farm had to offer. Our hosts Graham and Jane are lovely people who are on hand if needed but otherwise allow you to enjoy your holiday without any interference. I cannot recommend this holiday venue enough, it is very special.
Even before we arrived the owner, Jane, went above and beyond, receiving our grocery delivery and putting it away in the fridge and cupboards as we had been delayed and arrived later than planned. Upon arrival, the barn was very impressive in stature & cleanliness and very welcoming. Fresh flowers on the table, a crate of welcome goodies in the kitchen & milk in the fridge were all little touches that were instantly noticed and appreciated. We had a wonderful stay at the Water Mill with our 17 month old little boy. Graham and Jane are lovely and extremely accommodating, adapting the cottage for our little boy with baby gates, high chair etc. ready on our arrival. The cottage and hot tub is beautiful, very clean and cosy! The hot tub area is very private and so peaceful, it was a wonderful wind down after a busy day! The only thing we would say is master room mattress wasn’t particularly comfortable and there are no child locks on the kitchen cabinet doors, but it was manageable, we just moved any breakables to wall cupboard...more
We booked the entire property for 18 family members, including 8 grandchildren ranging from 2 - 11 years old, to celebrate my 70th birthday. We had hoped the accommodation would work for us - in the end it far exceeded all expectations, and we had a fabulous week, even though the weather might have been kinder. The properties are beautifully furnished and appointed, each family unit having their own space to retire to for a bit of peace & quiet - very welcome at times!
