We're a large group of friends who meet up each Easter in Scotland to enjoy the mountains and other outdoor activities. This year we chose Forest Lodge as one of two properties on the Atholl Estate. The Lodge is very comfortable, well appointed, warm and cosy. The main living rooms and kitchen are all well equipped and we'd like to thank Lee for providing extra crockery etc. which allowed our complete group to eat together in the evenings. The bedrooms, most of which have recently been refitted, are excellent. No shortage of hot water either, which is lovely when you've got a group returning from the hills all wanting a shower or bath at the same time! We had a good week of weather but even on the dull days there was plenty for everyone, young and old, to do in the area. We would thoroughly recommend this property!

We are coming to the Estate for + 30 years, every year, and we created a concept which is according to our guests/friends beyond the very best.
We will only recommend this concept to our best friends.
We will not recommend this location to other people, because we want to keep our concept and this location as a magic formula for an exclusive holiday for ourselves. We are absolutely convinced this is a selfish attitude, but we also consider this as justified.
So, we booked for 2024 again. Looking forward to this new experience.

I have been in Forest Lodge many times before, but now the lodge has been completely renovated. Yes part of the shabby chique charm and quirkyness of old is gone, but the renovation has been done with respect for what it was and is. Anyway since most of our party had not been there before they were really pleased with what was on offer : fantastic rooms and bathrooms and magnificent surroundings. Even the weather was tropical :-) All expectations were met. We left as a happy bunch of Belgians and will for sure be back.

Forest Lodge has enjoyed some recent improvements which have not compromised its traditional ambience. It is perfect for lovers of the remote outdoors who are members of large groups of family/friends. Users will most likely be stalking parties or walkers set on ticking off some of the remote peaks of the southern Cairngorms, without having recourse to the bothy up the glen. Bicycles and fishing rods also recommended, plus good books for those awful days of "Scotch mist"
