It met all my expectations, was very quiet and relaxing place. Lovely views around there and we enjoyed visiting Elan Wally.

The lodge itself is a charming little retreat — cosy and comfortable from the inside, with the added bonus of a hot tub that made the stay relaxing.

However, several drawbacks really impacted the overall experience. The property was equipped with only the bare essentials. The kitchen, in particular, was very understocked: only a limited number of plates and utensils were provided, meaning everything had to be washed immediately after each use. Some of the crockery was chipped, and there were very few basic supplies (tea, coffee, sugar, washcloth, dishwasher tablets) but no salt, pepper, cooking oil, or even bin bags. We had to go buy everything ourselves. In comparison, even basic caravan parks tend to provide a more generous range of kitchenware and often a few everyday essentials.

The biggest downside was the overwhelming number of houseflies inside the lodge. This became a real nuisance, especially since the only measure in place was fly tape hanging from the ceiling and a broken fly swatter. A more effective solution, such as a proper fly catcher, would have made the stay far more comfortable.

Considering the price we paid, the lack of provisions, the kitchen standards, and the fly problem meant the overall experience felt less welcoming than expected. With a few thoughtful improvements, this lodge could easily match the cosy comfort it promises at first glance.

what a weekend!
Amazing accommodation set in an amazing location. The views were breathtaking, comfortable accommodation, close to supplies and nearby attractions well worth a visit - Elan Valley, Hafod Forest

Think we were one of the first to stay in Eleri's barn - a couple of minor snags and little things missing e.g. hooks for bath towels by hot tub, dressing table in bedroom, no iron but only minor things - this place is 100% worth a visit! On the list to return one day!
