Having been lucky enough to stay in Barns Tower twice before and loving the area, I was disappointed that it wasn’t available on the dates we needed. Scrolled through various sites and although some nice places for sure, none lived up to the magic of Barns or were quadruple the price if they did. Had the brainwave to look at the Neidpath website and saw Townhead-incredibly available on our dates. Spotting it on the drive through the farm was breathtaking for its beauty and location but inside was even better. I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Neidpath Castle. I can’t believe I got to have the entire castle to myself when booking the room. It could get a little creepy but I was looking for those kinds of vibes, while the chamber itself was incredibly cosy and comfortable. It’s such a unique experience staying there. The surrounding areas were also breathtaking. I went on a hike around the area and came across a viaduct and abandoned train tunnel which just added to the experience, plus the town of Peebles was lovely to explore too. A great place to stay.
We were very happy to stay at the Barns Bothy in such beautiful surroundings with everything we needed for our visit. We found it to be clean and well equipped with every thing provided for a relaxing time in a charming place. We would certainly like to return for another break when we can.
Just a beautiful place and beautiful surroundings. The attention to detail internally is incredible., I’ve stayed in many self catering houses over the years and this is right up there. Ideally a washing machine would help but it’s a very very small negative. We will be looking to book again. Thank you !
Wow, what an amazing place! So unusual, with so much history - the details of the history of the property and renovation in the kitchen were much appreciated and fascinating to read through. Everything was well-stocked (an addition of cooking oil would be great) and we wanted for nothing. The tower itself had loads of quirks and great features - the huge bed and lovely bath upstairs was great, a real treat. Very comfortable accomodation, plenty of space for everyone staying. The seating area was comfortable and spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. Everyone had a lovely time.
Lovely relaxing stay. Very comfortable and spacious. Great location. Thoughtful welcoming pack. Beautiful gardens and outdoor space. Huge four poster bed and grand bath.
