This is a lovely Victorian villa with fabulous views of the coast and sea. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished with attractive furniture and good for families and friends. The layout was excellent and most rooms were very light and airy. There were clean and well laundered bed linen and good quality towels. It was a short walk into the village and very close to coastal walks and moorlands with beautiful scenery and views from the front rooms.
If we could offer some suggestions for improvements we would like to mention that having one toilet for six guests was a downside especially as there was no hand basin to clean hands afterwards. The bathroom was very good and modern though with ann excellent shower. Also the carpets were a little stained and the paintwork and walls were beginning to need some replenishment however this was only due to wear and tear.
Perhaps the mention of the scaffolding that encroached onto the property from next door and the works being carried out could have prepared us for the significant impact on the appearance of Spaldrick View as it did resemble a building site with extensive railings around building materials in the road and builders using ladders that affected our privacy as they were in front of the bedroom and front living room.
Port Erin has some good places to eat and two supermarkets, a few cafés and the station for the steam railway. The buses are reasonable and frequent.
Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay and for the groceries which were supplied. We look forward to returning.
