We chose Knock Rushen for its size, as we are a large family with an age range from 18 months to 93 years old. We were not disappointed. The whole house was beautiful and spacious, silly things like the stairs were wide & shallow so were manageable for all. The kitchen / dining room/ seating area was massive and space for all around the table. The house had been decorated for Christmas which was beautiful. We hope to next year xx

Really spacious. Excellent bedroom and bathroom accommodation. Nice sized garden. Loads of parking space. Great views. Fab location. Obviously geared to large gatherings but you won't feel crowded even if you used all the bedrooms. Hot tub and small sauna a bonus. The library is interesting and grand piano a classy touch. We liked the lived in 'feel at home' atmosphere which helped us relax but we never forgot the potential for the deposit of £1000 towards damages to not be refunded. Damocles.

The house could do with WiFi extenders as the signal is only effective in the ground floor hall and 1st floor landing. Non existent at all on top floor or extremities of building. A disappointing feature.

Because the house doubles up as a place for retreats, some of the downstairs space is wasted. Make of that what you will.

There is no toilet on the ground floor available to residents. Curious.

We stayed at Knockrushen house whilst attending a wedding for our friend on the island. The house provided the perfect base with plenty of space for 18 people and a great mixture of rooms suiting friends and couples alike. Island Escapes were extremely responsive and pleasant to deal with. The only thing we were left longing for was a few extra days.

We had a wonderful stay here with family and friends visiting from across. It was the perfect size for 17 of us, with all but 2 of the 10 bedrooms being special in some way. The views from the front and sides were beautiful and the garden and hot tub and patios/terraces were lovely. Has a spacious front hall with grand piano and a lovely bright and welcoming kitchen/living area with aga. It felt very luxurious. Only suggestion is some fittings e.g. rusty shower racks could do with replacing. Island Escapes were very helpful and accommodating in arranging our stay.

We chose Knock Rushon House to celebrate our fathers 90th birthday as whole family, the property was large enough to take 14 adults and 3 children with rooms to spare, the main kitchen/living area was a great space to be together and celebrate. The bedrooms are plentiful (10) comfortable and well configured, plenty of bathrooms which all functioned great, some were slightly better than others but no issues.
We hired an outside caterer for the main even on the Saturday evening and it was. Great success with us all seated comfortably round the huge kitchen table.
We made use of the good sized hot tub and all had a lovely walk round the coast and into Castletown, it’s a great spot.
Negatives ? Not many the house and location is great, yes it’s got signs of age and use but it’s generally in good condition, maybe needs the kitchen restocking with up to date glasses and utensils and few more loo rolls would have been helpful.
