The lodge is in a lovely area with lots of visiting ducks and other birds. It is a superb 3 bed lodge with all amenities and is very comfortable. The only detrimental things are the en suite shower which needs an upgrade for the hand held shower unit as the hose is splitting and the shower head has only one setting which isn’t ideal and the lodge information pack need updating to include how to use all items like the TV, heating etc
We have been using The Oaks in Bowness-on-Windermere as the venue for our residential events, and I genuinely cannot recommend it highly enough. For anyone looking for a venue for a company retreat, leadership event, workshop or residential programme, The Oaks is exceptional. Elm lodge was ideal for our party of 3 mixed age families it was well furnished and spotlessly clean the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals the lounge was very comfortable with plenty of seating and the en suite bedrooms also. The outside seating area was good and we made well use of it, the grounds were immaculate and spacious for the children to play they enjoyed the hot tub especially. I can recommend this estate for a relaxing and scenic holiday.

We have stayed at Cherry cottage previously and enjoyed the same experience this time too. Cottage is spacious, beds are comfortable. Kitchen items are well stocked so home from home experience. The hot tub is lovely to relax in a naturally beautiful area, which is quiet and peaceful. The children loved seeing ducks and deer most days. Bowness is a short 5 minute drive away or not to expensive in a taxi. We have recently returned from a long weekends stay at Hazel Cottage. We had 4 generations staying and the cottage meet all of our needs. From a stair gate, bed guard, travel cot and high chair for the small visitors to downstairs bedrooms and bathroom for those elderly with mobility issues. We ranged from 82 years old to 1year old. The kitchen facilities were excellent to be able to cook and lots of local choice for takeaway food. We were so close to Bowness and a great base for the full Lake District. We loved staying at Rowan cottage. It is situated in an ideal location for touring around the lakes. The cottage was comfortable and located in a peaceful surroundings. The staff was friendly and kept touch at all times if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend this cottages to anyone who wants to visit the Lake District.
Our stay at The Oaks Country Estate was so good. The accommodation, the staff on site, the grounds really everything was outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to my friends.
Maple cottage is very homely clean and comfy the bed are extremely comfortable and the en suites showers are amazing Lounge large with lovely log burner Kitchen ample pots if you have loaded. Dishwasher and useful to have washing machine hot tub and view from kitchen lovely Deer squirrels ducks birds all visiting us Bowness very nearby with lovely shops bar cafes restaurants local walks from cottage and nearby Windermere stunning area with beautiful countryside A lovely family break in a spacious cottage
