We enjoyed a tremendous week in Tarn Lodge. The location is spectacular, looking down onto the beautiful tarn, with its wealth of wildlife. The accommodation is nicely arranged and the woodburner added the perfect atmosphere for the cooler evenings. The property is well equipped and provides everything for a relaxed and comfortable stay. We have had a very comfortable 3 night stay in Cherry Cottage with our family of 6 adults and 5 young children. The property was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed and was lovely and warm. Everything to make for a good stay has been thought about. The Oaks is in a picturesque and quiet area and Bowness is only a few minutes drive away. We would love to come here again.
Such a lovely little cosy cottage with stunning views of the fells. We felt at home right away. The hot tub was an additional treat after a long days walking.& we weren’t overlooked. I thoroughly recommend this place & am sure we’ll be back. The kitchen is v well equipped & all you need to bring is food staples. There’s not a lot of storage space for clothes & shoes but we did have a lot of stuff! Thank you Jo & Sarah.
we are a family group of about 20 people and were the first visitors to the house when it opened. we have been going back every year since so i think that speaks for itself and we are booked in next year already. even though you are in a large group the house is big enough for individuals to have time to themselves but we tend to live in the kitchen come dining area with the views across the hills. I would fully recommend it.
Spent a week, as a family of 10, staying at Elm Cottage, great location, although slightly difficult to find, downstairs and upstairs rooms are a lovely size, with the exception of the ensuite shower rooms which are slightly compact. Washer dryer took ages to dry clothes, didn't help as there was no outside line, oven was good with 2 shelves and a grill pan, cooker hob could be slightly bigger as struggled to cook dinner for everyone. The location of the property was brilliant,the grounds were lovely and it was quite at night. We enjoyed the hot tub most days despite the weather and found enough space surrounding the houses to set up a mini badminton 'court' so the kids could have fun! The house is well laid out, with decent sized bedrooms. The single room is actually quite lovely - really nice and bright so my daughter was happy despite not having a double bed! We go away every year as a family and have stayed in many cottages. To be honest it was a bit disappointing. The beds were uncomfortable and I've never stayed anywhere that doesn't have salt and pepper!
