A lovely holiday cottage for 2 (although the bed settee would be fine for a child as well), well equipped with great bed and shower.
Heating, should you need it, was responsive and controlled by thermostatic valves on the radiators & towel rail.
Quiet position with car parking near the door. We didn’t use the washing machine or dishwasher so can’t comment.
We would stay again without hesitation.

Quite well appointed - some more/better sharp cooks' knives would be appreciated - and or a steel to sharpen what was there. Fortunately, we'd brought cooking oil, olive oil, vinegars, spices and herbs with us as there were none in the property.

On the plus side, the bath/shower room was excellent; and the super-king-size bed was amongst the most comfortable we have ever had away on holiday. So a huge Thank You to Sarah and team for that.

The peace and quiet of the setting/environment was as good as ever whilst its location was spot on. Being a long-exiled local from PD it is always a pleasure returning to my old stomping ground and reacquanting myself with the locality as well as old school friends who remained, or have returned.

Thank you for yet another enjoyable stay - we will be back.

Comfortable cottage, but parking in front is very unfortunate.

Translate: We were notified in advance requesting to go directly to our cottage. We stayed in the cottage for four nights and did not have any personal contact. We felt that was a real loss. Inside, the cottage is really great: a pleasant bed, a great shower, a nice living room. The lights in the induction hob in the kitchen are broken, making it a real scavenger hunt to find the right buttons to cook (this was already known to the technical service). What we found incredibly unfortunate is that there is no view of the beautiful area from the cottage, indeed, if you open the front door you look directly at the car park. There is such a beautiful, large garden, it is a pity that the car park is not made somewhere else and the front of the cottage also becomes garden. Now you sit on a metal chair on a sort of concrete area with a very small patch of grass (in our case, the three neighbouring cottages have only concrete at the front). In short: really nice cottage, but virtually no benefit of the beautiful garden/environment due to concrete outdoor terrace (with a few square metres of grass). Welcoming guests on arrival would increase the points a bit with us.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Close to beach and other locations we planned to visit.
Extra bed was provided in the main bedroom and was not a problem to the owners to arrange this.
Arrival instructions nice and simple.
Cottage clean and comfortable with a huge double bed and had everything we needed and was a bonus to find washing machine and dryer in cupboard under the stairs - perfect for cleaning up after a day at the beach!
We did struggle with the hob but got there eventually, not sure if that was us or whether there is a slight issue with it.
Definitely plan to stay again and would recommend to other.

OK for 1 or 2 nights but not 1 week. Really needs an upgrade. Bed linen been washed thousand times, certainly not crisp and fresh. Bed very uncomfortable, quilt so flat and pillows have seen better days, all lumpy. Bath towels not much bigger than hand towel and a bit like a dishcloth, needs to be replaced. Just about ok for a night but uncomfortable for any longer. Sorry, it needs to be said.

Another great holiday at Portclew Cottages.

We have just returned home after another lovely week down at Freshwater East. Our fifth visit to the Portclew cottages. Previously we have stayed at The Dairy and also at The Coach House with family but this time it was just my husband and myself and we stayed at The Gardener's Cottage, which was perfect for a couple. All the cottages have been comfortable and clean and the family are always friendly and helpful whenever we have needed them.
This year, we have been very lucky with the weather and we have visited our favourite beaches and also St David's, Tenby and Saundersfoot.
Thank you for another very enjoyable holiday.
Sally from Buckinghamshire.

We found Gardener's Cottage was perfect for our planned walks along the coast path. The cottage was warm & very comfortable. Plentiful supply of crockery and cutlery and array of sharp knives & good saucepans. Full oven and microwave. Dishwasher. It was great to come back after a long walk to a hot shower- instant hot water. The cottage was very clean with comfortable seating. We slept well even though we are more used to a larger bed.
When we had a problem with the induction hob, Sarah was able to help us right away.
Highly recommended.
