We had such a lovely time here, absolutely perfect in everyway. Cannot fault a single thing! Even down to the bottle of wine on arrival, thank you

What made you choose this particular lodge?
Silly things really but the number of sofas to suit 4 ppl, the others maybe had 1 sofa & then individual chairs. Other than that they all liked great.

I booked 4 nights in the retreat lodge as a suprise for my relatives from Germany and we were not disappointed, the lodge was very clean and well equipped and the Jacuzzi was fantastic.The staff are very freindly and helpful.strawberry fields is located just 5 minutes drive from Cheddar gorge.I will definately return for more of the 5* experience on offer here.

We stayed for 7 nights and wanted to stay longer. The Lodge was clean and modern, with a wood burner for a warm cozy feel. Everything was provided to kick start your stay.

The jacuzzi was a new experience and loved relaxing in it. It made a special winter wonderland with the run up to Christmas.

The Lodges are situation only 5 minutes from Cheddar and it's an easy drive into town. Some planning required of you want to leave the car and get a taxi. If you like a cider, then the Cider Barn is the place to be, situated at the entrance to the park. They do great pizzas too! A friendly local offered to take us into into town.

A thank you to the Team at StrawberryField Park for helping to make our first holiday together perfect.

We will be curtain to come back.

We had a delightful stay at the Retreat Lodge this weekend. From communicating with the park before we arrived to having an issue with our hottub, the staff at strawberryfield park were excellent, Very attentive and always happy and on hand to help. The lodge itself is beautiful and the hottub was a great bonus. At the top of the park there is a cider barn which we stopped in for a drink and of course cheddar is a couple of minutes drive away (or half hour walk if the weather was better). We have recommended to our friends and absolutely will be retuning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely holiday with the girls. We did think the retreat needed a little tlc regarding bedding/cushions/decking.

This lodge is absolutely beautiful. I have stayed at Strawberryfield Park a few times before but this lodge is by far my favourite. The layout is perfect, it had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay, everything was cleaned to a very high standard. The beds were super comfy, the hot tub location was nice and private, we didn’t want to leave. Will 100% be back. Thank you Strawberryfield Park as always.

Excellent communication from Strawberryfield Park so we were well prepared ahead of our visit. A warm welcome from Mike who was happy to recommend places to visit etc. Lodge was presented well and was just as it was in the photos. Plenty of space for our family of 4. We enjoyed having breakfast on the decking listening to the sounds of cows and sheep in the distance. Hot tub was checked daily and it quickly changed temperature which was useful as our children wanted to go in the daytime whilst we wanted it warmer for the evening. I mentioned a couple of minor things to them on checkout and got the impression that these would be fixed asap. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the company and The Retreat lodge to others.

We loved our stay at the Retreat, everything was as promised. We had one slight issue with the hot tub but someone came and helped us pretty much immediately. Our only complaint was that the Terms and Conditions are ridiculous and having someone show up at 9am on the morning of departure to make sure we were in the process of leaving left a bad taste in our mouths. Such a shame as everything else was perfect.

As we still have contactless check in and out, most guests appreciate the personal touch of seeing someone and having a chance to pass on feedback. The lodge was spotlessly clean and really comfortably furnished with everything you need for a weekend or a fortnight.
Really lovely touches from the owners like bottles of water, bottle of wine, milk in the fridge, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar.
Lovely weekend and will definitely come again.

Amazing lodge with 5* facilities. Spacious and clean. We had a problem with one of the showers and the office sent someone straightaway to fix it. Lovely customer service.
Hot tub is a great addition- we loved it.
Fantastic location for exploring Cheddar and Wells, we even took a bus to Bristol.

The lodge was nicely done. However it was not very clean, hairs on bathrooms, cobwebs & other peoples clothes!

We sincerely apologise that the cleanliness was not up to our usual standard. We have been very short staffed recently because members of our Housekeeping Team were having to isolate due to Covid/family related reasons. We have put in place more strategic and thorough checking plans with our team and more training has been arranged with our housekeepers (albeit Limited lately) We hope you still managed to enjoy your stay at the park and these errors did not affect your enjoyment of the holiday. Our lodge was beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable. The beds were luxurious, even the twin beds. The bathrooms were in full working order, spacious and easy to use. The robes, slippers, Cheddar Spring Water, Cider and milk were very welcome surprises! Plenty of storage enabled us to really ‘unpack’ and live in the space.

We were however very disappointed to discover our lodge was beside a road. Albeit a country, single-track road, but whenever a vehicle went down it (especially agricultural vehicles) it was incredibly loud throughout the lodge, and were woken by vehicles overnight at times. We also felt we were closer to other lodges than we expected to be, and could hear conversations in other lodges if they had their windows or doors open (even if ours were closed). We were located in a lodge along The Avenue, but felt these issues would not have been present if we stayed in a lodge along The Orchard, as these were more spaced out and away from the road.

I have stayed in a number of lodges over the last few years. They have always been amazing inside and out. The service offered before this stay was second to none hence why we returned to the park. The staff were friendly and Mike the owner would sometimes stop buy to ensure everything was ok. Sadly this stay at the Retreat had its set backs. Unbeknown to us and also the park I believe, the strawberry fields fair was going on 31/7-1/08. Had we have known about the noise and disruption this would cause over the weekend we would have reconsidered our stay, having paid over £1k for a 3 day break for peace and quiet we were disappointed that we were kept awake until 12.40am on the Saturday night by loud music and people. I had sent an email that night to enquire as to whether the noise would be ongoing until the early hours the following night, it that was the case we were going to leave early. Luckily it was confirmed very promptly by the very helpful Dawn that it was not going on until the early hours. Bearing in mind I had sent the email Saturday I did not get a response until Tuesday. The email from Lucy disregarded my concerns and instead stated we 'had not sorted out the rubbish'. This was very confusing and I expressed this to Lucy, we had done what we always had on previous stays and followed the guidance on the bin about waste and recycling only to be told 'we should have sorted this ourselves'. I still do not have an answer as to what we were meant to have done about this. I was told that they would not be deducting from my security deposit in any event??? The email was completely dismissive of my complaint and it almost felt like a tit for tat situation. I am saddened this has tarnished our view of the mark. Mike and Dawn are fantastic and so are the lodges themselves, but I do think other employees need to communicate and work on their customer service skills. I do want to thank the park for all other stays we have had prior to this. I am hoping this was just a one off.

We really enjoyed our time staying in The Retreat. The lodge had everything we could have hoped for and the decking area provided excellent privacy, especially when using the hot tub. Great location with excellent sights and restaurants nearby via car. Whilst not cheap, I’d highly recommend this accommodation.

Lodge was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I would have liked an umbrella for shade on the patio by the table and chairs. I also requested the second bedroom to be made up as a double bed but it was made up as 2 singles.
Although there was building work going on in the lodge next to us, which wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t too bad. However, I felt the radio that the workmen had playing was quite loud when I was trying to read my book.
Hot tub was fine for 2 of us but I think you would have struggled to fit 4 people in there.
Everything that you needed was provided in the kitchen which was great.
I would definitely recommend this lodge.

We really enjoyed our stay here and had a lovely time exploring Cheddar. The lodge itself was in great condition and looks just like the photos. I would recommend staying here but also a few things which weren’t so great: We arrived to an awful smell inside the lodge and figured out that it was coming from the en suite bathroom, it smelled like sewage and this smell stayed the whole time we were there. We kept the en suite bathroom door shut and just used the other bathroom. Cleanliness was ok but considering we’re in a pandemic I was a bit surprised to find the guests before us food in the cupboards still and the tv remotes were very grubby and had food stuck inside the buttons. There are no cleaning products available to use in the lodge so I would recommend bringing your own anti bac spray to make sure it’s clean.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my sister at the retreat lodge. As soon as we walked in you could tell it has been immaculately cleaned. The space was beautifully decorated and felt very cosy.

Was lovely to find the little added extra like the now tv and Netflix’s available for use aswell as the bath robes and slippers!

Great location for Bristol and a trip to bath if you fancy it but we loved the lodge so much we stayed put and enjoyed the hot tub to the fullest.

Cannot recommend enough, we will certainly be returning!

Lovely lodge with everything we needed, apart from a parasol (the only negative) We were fortunate to stay during the September heatwave and wow, it was hot.
Beautiful relaxing lodge in a fabulous setting.
Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper provided, also everything one needs for the dreaded dishes, dishwasher tabs. cloths etc.
Wonderful relaxing stay.
The retreat is what it states 'home from home'.
Strawberry field park is highly recommend.

We stayed in the Retreat lodge and it felt like we was aboard. They have honstley thought the lodge through. With excellent views, comfort and gadgets.

This lodge was more than what we were expecting. I can’t wait to stay here again.

We were lucky enough to book the last available lodge The Retreat for a much needed few days away and we could not have been more delighted when we arrived. The lodge is gorgeous and a very generous size for 2 couples. Beautiful on the inside and out with so much space to relax and unwind. The hot tub was full and steaming hot! We had a phone call from Mike the following day to check we were happy with everything. A lovely part of the UK so we will be back. Thank you Mike and your team.

The break was exactly what we needed before our return to work! We could not fault the lodge and already planning our return visit next year!
The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed to cook etc, the bedrooms were very cosy and beds comfortable. I can not fault it.
Cheddar and Wells were wonderful places to explore!

Me and my girlfriend had a lovely, romantic and relaxing stay at the Retreat lodge. The living facilities were excellent, everything there that you could think of that you may need for a weekend stay.

The only issue is that the wifi was not working in our lodge but this was not too bad as we were able to connect to the wifi of a different lodge.
