Furlongs is a spacious, converted property which is superbly located for the Jurassic coast. The excellent accommodation sleeps up to ten guests, with large open-plan living areas and a covered games and barbecue area.

Big property with plenty of space in great setting for beach, countryside and local shop. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Ideal for large family gatherings. Will certainly be visiting again next year.

Another lovely stay at this amazing property. This was our 6th visit with the family and once again had a great time.
A very clean and comfortable property with plenty of room. We look forward to booking our 7th visit !

Beautiful house in stunning location. Warm, comfortable and has everything you need. We were 5 with a bedroom each, really good value at this time of year. Furlongs has a very well equipped kitchen so we catered in. Set at the end of a track, at the bottom of Chapel Tower, there are walks aplenty in this picturesque village. At this time of year there is only a cafe, shop, woodwork gifts and two pubs open - more seasonal options from March onwards. But the house is a destination in itself. We will be back. Thank you.

This is a truly beautiful house extremely well furnished and well equipped. We were a group of friends who went for a New year holiday. The house was so welcoming with 2 Christmas trees and a lovely hamper. The bedrooms are very well spaced out and so much room for everyone.
The location of Furlongs is stunning , with views of the Chapel and beyond to the sea one way and the pretty village of Abbotsbury the other way. It was a 2 minute walk to the village for the shops and pubs. We loved the Tropical gardens and the lovely cafe there. We had one issue with the water which was dealt with very quickly. I could not recommend this house more highly and we will definitely return.

This is a luxury property in a fantastic location. With plenty of spaces around the house to relax and get comfortable, as well as to entertain ourselves and cook over the festive period, we couldn't have asked for more. Abbotsbury itself is beautiful and there is plenty to see and do on foot or a short drive away. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all well appointed and we couldn't have hoped for anything more from our Christmas break.

A beautiful house which provided an excellent level of accommodation for our extended family of 9 plus a dog. The house was spotless and had all the necessary essentials to start your holiday.

We were very fortunate with the weather to be able to use the outside space for a couple of days in between walks to Chesil beach and visiting the local area. The Cherries, which was a few minutes walk from the house, was a lovely cafe for lunch and afternoon tea.

Would not hesitate to book Furlongs again.

Our third family visit to Furlongs - it copes so well with the shared and different needs of three generations - and a dog! Lots of space for all to do their own things or come together for shared stuff. The dog is a particular fan of the large enclosed grassy garden! This time the weather was a bit ‘blustery’ but no problem - just added a new ‘dimension’.

I booked Furlongs as it promised comfortable accommodation for 10 people and we were not disappointed.
It is a beautiful barn conversion with a stunning kitchen.
The outside space is great for children to play safely and there is ample parking space.

This is our second stay at Furlongs and if anything we enjoyed it more this time than last - everyone settled into their own space and we enjoyed happy family meals in the very spacious kitchen/dining area. The weather was very mixed but having such a lovely spacious house helped tremendously and drying facilities for wet weather gear is excellent in the boot room. More cloths,cleaning detergents, tea towels and steak knives would be beneficial but apart from that and perhaps mirrors in the bedrooms that are near plug points and electric shaver charging plugs everything is very well catered for. On our departure we were lucky enough to meet the two very friendly housekeepers who do an amazing job.

We had THE best family holiday consisting of 6 adults, 3 under 3s and 3 dogs!
The house is just stunning, very private and huge giving each family member their own space when needed. My 3 yr old granddaughter loved playing hide and seek in all the rooms☺️
As soon as we entered the property we knew we had made a good choice and as we walked round we just got more and more impressed. The kitchen dining room area provided us with light and the opportunity to open up to the air and enjoy the gorgeous weather, whilst the sitting area the other side of the house provided a cool calm area with respite from the heat (and very high pollen! All the bedrooms are large, light and airy with good comfortable beds and good quality bedding. Any of the rooms are large enough to take a travel cot which was excellent as we had 2 and therefore not limited to certain rooms. All the en-suites and bathroom were excellent quality and very clean on arrival.
The house was well equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay. The finding of some spare batteries when they ran out on my granddaughter's bubble machine was a real bonus!!!
We were very lucky to enjoy excellent weather for our stay and the good outside space provided plenty of room both for little people to run off energy and for the dogs to enjoy their favourite game when the evenings cooled.
The only negative we found on the whole holiday was the garden furniture and the BBQ. mainly the parasol which was damaged and not fit for purpose which just meant we could have enjoyed eating outside more if we were more sheltered from the heat. There was also a BBQ cleaning kit but nothing in it to clean the BBQ both before or after our use.
Neither of these were anywhere near big enough to ruin our fabulous holiday though and we all loved spending quality time together in this gorgeous property making lovely new memories.
We all felt the same that we would love to revisit the house and the lovely village and do it all again very soon.

Furlongs is extremely hi-spec and well equipped, both in the spacious accommodation and in other facilities where it is evident that a great deal of thought has been given to everything that is needed for a comfortable stay.

As we were a group, it was particularly helpful that all of the bedrooms were of comparable size and facilities. We had a brief ‘glitch’ with the availability of hot water, but Dorset Hideways were able to resolve the problem quickly enough for it not to become a problem.

As we were fortunate enough to enjoy good weather, we appreciated the generous outside spaces for relaxation in comfort.

Abbotsbury is a charming village with lots to see and two excellent pubs for evening dining. There is also plenty of walking from the house, to the beach or further afield. All in all, an excellent venue for a break in a wonderful area.

Our second trip to Furlongs which is perfect for a large family gathering. The property is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent for walking and the children loved playing in the garden. I would highly recommend this property - we have booked again next year!

We found the heating was not very efficient. Doors to the bedroom that faced the garden were Brocken. No blind in the sitting area under the stairs. Toilet in the other downstairs bedroom, both flushes did not work.

We booked the property as a get together for long standing friends for celebrating three 70th and an 80th birthdays. We could not of asked for a nicer place. Everything was so well appointed and not stayed anywhere where you are supplied with such a good welcome pack. Everyone enjoyed their stay - a great location for walking. Hope that one day we can all return ideally in warmer weather!

Wonderful base to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday with our extended family. Large comfortable rooms that everything you need for a super weekend. Great walks across the rolling Dorset hills and coastline directly from the front door. Large walled grass area for the dogs to run around in.

House was excellent, the scenery was amazing and even the sun shone for us. The local pub provided a delicious roast and the local playground was a hit with the younger members of the family.

We have had the most wonderful holiday at the Furlongs. We went to celebrate our eldest son’s 40th birthday as a large family and we weren’t disappointed. The accommodation is amazing, spacious and luxurious. The views and local walks are stunning and the village beautiful. We would thoroughly endorse Furlongs, it is up there as one of the very best places that we have had the pleasure to stay in.

We planned a family get together for a Birthday Celebration and Furlongs provided us with everything that we expected.
The outside blended in with the surrounding area but didn’t reflect the spacious and extremely well appointed interior.
We loved the position close to the village and was convenient for nearby beaches and we also made good use of the village playground with our grandchildren.
2 very small criticisms would be lack of electric shaver points for toothbrushes in the bathrooms (only 1) and no plug sockets for hairdryers etc near mirrors.



Highly recommended and we would definitely stay there again!

A wonderful property in a perfect location. Close to the village providing 2 pubs in easy walking distance for anyone, as well as the local shops and businesses. Access to the local buses from the village allowed us to leave the car at home when we wanted to venture further afield, which was an added bonus!
The property was wonderfully appointed with everything we needed and furnished to a high standard, ensuring we were comfortable when not out and about!

A very large beautiful conversion in an idyllic setting just outside Abbotsbury and a mile from the coast path. Lovely walks in all directions. The property was well equipped, though with some minor niggles, and some waste of resources. Gorgeous bedrooms and exceptional decor and furniture. A wonderful place for a large family or friends gathering.

What a gem, Furlongs was our piece of heaven for a week. A beautiful home in lovely surroundings,what a lucky find!
I came with my brother and sisters and our partners and my dog. We all had our own sumptuous rooms to relax in and the spacious kitchen and lounges to socialise in and Frankie, my dog, loved the freedom of the large, secure garden. Furlongs is so clean and comfortable and absolutely everything that you could possibly want in a holiday home.
The hamper was a welcome bonus, full of goodies and all very tasty.
A local shop at the end of the lane and the beach and a pub a short walk away. We had a fabulous week, visiting nearby towns, doing coastal walks and taking in all the stunning countryside.
We enjoyed some really tasty food in The Illchester Arms , where we had a warm welcome from very friendly staff.
We will definitely be looking to book again and have already shared the accommodation link with friends.

We stayed at Furlongs for a week with 8 other members of my family and we had a wonderful time. The property is amazing. Spacious, beautifully furnished and in a beautiful setting. The grandchildren loved the outdoor space and it was safe and enclosed.
We all thought this was the best holiday home we had stayed in.

Secluded position overlooking rolling hills towards the sea but only a few minutes walk from the lovely village of Abbotsbury. Hottest week of the year in Dorset and we picked a fabulous rental property for our family holiday. Pre booking research proved to be accurate so the Furlongs was as spacious and quiet as we had hoped. The generous and modern rooms allowed the multi family group a degree of privacy and yet plenty of communal spaces.
With the most amazing garden and outside play areas our 2 year old grandson certainly had room to run play and explore whilst being safe and visible.
Everybody had an amazing bedroom with en-suite luxury.
Watching the Euros was a joy on the mega TV and there were so many other TVs to choose from.
Walking to the beach, village etc was fantastic.
Impeccably clean throughout.
Great value for money really given the location and size.

This is an extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated house with comfy beds, luxurious bed linens and lovely bathrooms. The kitchen is wonderful with everything you could possibly need and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. On top of that, the house is in a fantastic location with wonderful views. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
