Very well appointed accommodation in a beautiful location with far-reaching views. We hope to return soon.
The standard of accommodation here at bake house cottage is excellent. The grounds are picturesque, lots to explore and very quiet. We have enjoyed playing tennis, building dens, walking through the orchard, bbqs in the evening. The cottage is well located to explore Dorset we made the most of some good weather with beach days out at Lyme Regis and Knoll beach at Swanage as well as some more local walks. Sherborne is a beautiful town, we enjoyed the ice cream shop, looking at the Abbey and a meal out at Tamborino Gold. The Fox Inn, Mark Hix restaurant is also about 20 minutes away providing gr...more
We loved the countryside, very peaceful, lovely walks . Lodges were well equipped and comfortable. Hot tubs were great. Perfect for our family gathering.
Our group was a gathering of long standing friends (known each other nearly 40 years) who get together once a year. In the early years, we booked a whole youth hostel and took all the children. Now we are all older, (and better off!) and everyone likes to have their own bathroom, we have upgraded our annual get together to a holiday house hire. Stapleford Farm, was just right for us (not easy finding properties with enough bathrooms/en suites). We felt very well looked after and loved it
Fabulous views from the barn. Fully equipped and comfortable living conditions in a stunning location. The Smart TV was very welcome and the host kept in touch with us. It was a very high quality accommodation and we look forward to returning. The welcome basket was a nice touch.
The weather may have been terrible the week we stayed but that didn't matter. Magna Cottage is beautiful. So idyllic and rural just perfect to escape to. Everything about the cottage was excellent. This was our third visit and we very much look forward to coming back.
This is a great little cottage with a lovely garden, we had a fab week in Dorset. Very nicely renovated inside.
Palomino cottage is part of a group of farm cottages. It is very peaceful, set on farmland a short walk from the coast in pretty gardens. It is well maintained, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the many scenic walks from the property.
This was our second stay at Hoods because we love it! A beautiful, well thought out property with wonderful views. The completely enclosed garden is ideal for our dog. We relax from the minute we arrive - helped by the lovely food hamper!
We had a lovely stay in the converted barn. Everything was first class. Would book again. Modern and tasteful.
Beautiful house with a lovely garden, comfortable, spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean house perfect for our family of 8 adults and 2 year old grandson and small dog, we all loved it.
A lovely cottage in lovely grounds. Very comfortable and well appointed. Having the games room was an added bonus. Some of our group did go into the river. But a lovely spot to sit and watch for kingfisher and trout. The road to the cottage is narrow with few passing places There appears to be a road construction unit next door which occasionally could be noisy
Church Cottage is simply outstanding, the location, decor and facilities made for a great holiday. Cattistock is a beautiful village with very friendly locals, beautiful buildings and lovely walks. We will definitely be returning next year and hopefully the pub will be back open by then!
Nothing else to add. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Bramble Eco Lodge provided a real escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The peace and quiet, the spectacular views and the superb quality of fixtures and fittings made for the perfect holiday retreat. Thoughtful features such as the generous welcome hamper and the hot tub only added to the pleasure of our stay. I cannot recommend Bramble too highly!
Beautiful property. Surrounded only by fields and pheasants. Away from it all Thoughtful welcome basket.
Had to ask for a cork opener. Within miniutes of texting the owner, a cork screw was presented. That's what i call customer service.
Absolutely spotless cottage. Loads of attention to detail everything you want. Owners very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Was amazed at attention to detail in cottage.
We spent a week here last year and based on our happy experience then we booked again for the same week this year. Again, we had a really lovely week. We have already reserved a stay next year (even though it's still only July!) and trying a different time of year. I think that says it all really - for us, everything is spot on there. We have enough seclusion and privacy which is what we like even though the owners live next door. Very happy memories.
Arrived to a clean cottage and awesome welcome basket and then an amazing cake! Anita is welcoming..
Excellent location away from the madding crowds. Scary narrow lanes to start with but you get used to reversing. Tothery cottage is superb, well laid out and renovated to a very high spec and standard. The welcome pack had all the essentials and the Dorset coffee company medium roast is excellent. Found the local bakery as well. Cottage well suited as a base to get to the beaches and inland attractions. Bridget is warm and welcoming giving us a run down of the facilities and controls. Relaxing and enjoyable week away, first time to Dorset but it will not be the last. Thank you.
A wonderful property in a perfect location. Close to the village providing 2 pubs in easy walking distance for anyone, as well as the local shops and businesses. Access to the local buses from the village allowed us to leave the car at home when we wanted to venture further afield, which was an added bonus! The property was wonderfully appointed with everything we needed and furnished to a high standard, ensuring we were comfortable when not out and about!
The White House is truly fabulous. It is a lovely large property, with big spacious and airy rooms, lots of space to spread out and not feel on top of each other. Wonderful garden, although with the weather at the time we went, unfortunately no opportunity to make use of it. The house is so well stocked; everything has been thought about, even down to the provision of umbrellas and walking poles in the hallway, and a great Nespresso coffee machine with spare pods. The welcome hamper of goods was fantastic, especially with everything sourced from the local area. There really could not be a...more
Beautiful property in lovely location for walking. Property is very comfortable with high end finishes. Would suggest replacing some of white plates and a couple more cooking knives would be helpful. Would definitely return.
This is such a beautiful property and the owners have such a good attention to detail and they think of everything to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible
Its not easy to find a comfortable, good quality residence for an extended family of 20 to stay at but this exceeded our expectations! Having also booked the property next door, we had lots of space in a home away from home. Facilities are excellent and we had a wonderful BBQ on a really high quality gas barbecue burner in the Courtyard which was a really good location - enclosed so younger children were safe yet spacious for bigger ones and the adults. Delightful decoration within and an excellent nights sleep in comfortable beds. With wonderful views who could ask for more! We'll be back...more
This is a stunning, spacious property and beautifully decorated in detail throughout. Very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard (just note tall people may wish to use the shower room downstairs as the bathroom shower is quite low). The location was absolutely amazing to discover the delights of Dorset and highlights for us included Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, the Blue Pool, Sandbanks, Old Harry Rocks and Studland beach, Swanage and the steam railway. All within a 15-40 min drive.
We had a fantastic week at Brook House. The garden is amazing, with loads to keep little ones entertained (trampoline, slide, swing, treehouse) & adults too (bbq, sun loungers, pizza oven!). The kitchen is superbly equipped so you can actually cook proper meals during your stay. The lounge is spacious, comfy sofa & very comfy beds! The place was well kept, clean & a delight to stay in for the week. Very short drive to Durdle Door which is a must!
Larch Barn is an idyllic place for a holiday. All home comforts and more. Beautiful garden, surrounded by trees, sheep in the adjacent field, lots of very cute bunnies, owls hooting at night but so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of lovely places to visit. Steve, the owner, was friendly and helpful. The farm shop next door has everything you need and the welcome hamper was gorgeous. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.
Fern and it’s neighbouring eco-lodges have been beautifully designed by the owners – they are spacious, pretty, wonderfully clean and kitted out with the highest-quality fittings. The kitchen fittings in particular are great, as are the wood-burning stove and hot tub! Fern does need a couple of new frying pans – at present there is only one, the Teflon coating of which flakes off into your food. The pictures on the Dorset Hideaways website don’t do justice to the beauty of the views and the surrounding area. Both the garden and house have amazing, completely unobstructed views for miles an...more
The house was excellent for our purposes, which was a weekend wedding in the Dorchester area. However, it did feel a little dated and some of the beds and chairs could do with replacing, so, with reservations, we were happy. We locked ourselves out once, but the emergency number was answered immediately and the problem resolved, so that service worked well.
It is difficult to put into words how perfect this house and the service provided by the company and the cleaners/housekeepers was. It was with trepidation that we took our grown up children, our grandson and our dog away for Christmas in the middle of Covid but my goodness it was our best decision of the year. The house is beautiful, so well equipped with quality equipment and lots and lots of everything you need. Nothing was too much trouble , they answered my endless questions and when we arrived there was even a beautifully decorated real Christmas tree and an amazing hamper to greet us. ...more
We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful location. The house has been stylishly renovated and the hot tub is very well done. The chairs and table by the stream are a nice touch, and the car charging point was a bonus for us. The house is well situated to explore north Dorset and we visited several lovely gardens nearby. We also had a good day out at West Bay and Bridport. We can definitely recommend this property.
We’ve stayed in many holiday homes but this was the first that was clean and everything worked in the house. We especially enjoyed the dining table under the vine in the garden. All of the bedrooms were spacious and the many bathrooms gave privacy and convenience to each couple. The housekeeper was extremely helpful and welcoming. We would love to return but I am not sure we can afford it. Like all holiday homes in the UK this year, we found the cost of rental in the school holidays extremely high. I hope all British holiday homes will return to pre COVID prices next year!
This is a top draw spacious holiday cottage. Deborah is on hand if needed and has a welcoming attitude. We were able to visit Weymouth, Sherborne and the Fleet Air Arm museum during our four night stay.
Beautifully decorated house in a fabulous position, walkable to Sherbourne town centre, restaurants and the railway station. A very generous ‘hamper’ was provided with all the essentials for our 4 day stay. Wonderfully comfortable bed with stunning decor, the only ‘slight’ down-side was the position of the tv in the kitchen (I had to crane my head to watch it, but it was a minor thing). Had a superb meal at the Eastbury Hotel, well worth a visit.
We stayed for 3 nights at Berwick. The property is very comfortable and smartly decorated; the owners have provided lots of maps and suggestions for places to visit and eat. We arrived by car at night and finding the entrance to the loading area to leave bags at the property was a bit difficult; there is no parking by the property but we parked at Westfield Close car park, a short walk away - £7.10 for the entire stay. Wimborne itself is lovely, definitely recommend 10 Bottles wine bar nearly on the doorstep.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Elbow. It’s a cosy cottage that’s full of character. Myself and the two girls felt right at home. The kitchen had everything we needed. The girls liked their room and I throughly enjoyed the luxury of the hideaway bathroom above mine. The information provided in the guest book and folders was spot on thanks. The location is good for both the coast and attractions inland such as Monkey World and Corfe Castle. We also enjoyed wondering in the village of Frampton. The summer house is great but the garden would be even more lovely with a bit of w...more
A large group of us stayed here to celebrate a friend's special Birthday. The house is magnificent. It is so large it is easy to get lost. There were plenty of bathrooms in relation to the bedrooms. Everything you could need was provided in the kitchen, including two kettles and toasters and three ovens! We came in October so just missed the pool but we made use of the tennis courts. I would highly recommend this place to groups of friends or very large family gatherings. We will definitely return.
The property was great for a large group. For kids the second TV/playroom was areal asset, leaving the living room for quiete enjoyment by adults. The kitchen is 25 paces long, spanning three adjoining rooms. emptying glasses from the washer involved a long walk, for example. The owners need to cut down on the kitchen utensils and appliances to make more space for food preparation and reorganise the kitchen equipment, especially cutlery and utensils to make the whole set up less confusing and more convenient. There's generally far to much stuff and ornaments in the house, leaving littl...more
We stayed in Little Winters Cottage for a week at the end of May. The property is wonderful, very clean with everything needed for a self catering stay. The narrow lanes around the area are a little daunting at first but it didn’t take long to get used to. A great base to visit Dorset and Devon. We had a fantastic week and would definitely book again.
Lovely cottage, lovely welcome pack and fantastically well equipped. The location in a quiet village right in the middle of Hardy country was perfect. Also it was easy to get to Dorchester and Yeovil. We’d love to come back.
A beautiful old cottage, and the staff on the estate were very helpful. Just disappointed to find the stove which was included in the details had been removed and replaced with a television- so against the character of the cottage
Fully equipped, lovely house with welcome hamper. Everything you need for a quiet get away. Enjoyed our stay for a family wedding nearby.
Charming, comfortable, spacious Georgian cottage in heart of picturesque village. Well equipped and possesses lovely large garden furnished with a great variety of plants and a table for six. Ideal location for local museums in Dorchester, Studland sandy beach and fossils in Charmouth & Lyme Regis.
We really enjoyed our stay and the weather was great thankfully.Had fun lighting a fire in the evening. The bed position was a bit tedious as one of us had to climb over the other getting in and out.
This is a beautiful, well laid out and peaceful 3 bedroom/3 bath barn conversion. It is close to the A303 and Yeovil, but tucked away from both on a quiet country lane. The garden and nearby walks mean it is ideal for families. A working farmyard is next door which also keeps children entertained, as do the resident barn owls. The owners in the adjacent farm house are friendly and helpful. We have returned many times.
Amazing location, on the edge of Wimborne market town and yet when in the cottage feels so quiet and peaceful. Every detail has been thought of and it is the most lovely, well furnished spacious cottage. We and our friends were so impressed with the cottage and hope to return at some time.
Greygles is a wonderful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Our group consisted of 6 adults (of varying ages) and an 8-month-old baby and all of us felt right at home. The two seniors were happy to take the bedroom downstairs and used the bathroom with the shower. The facilities provided for babies/children (cot, highchair and stairgate) were certainly satisfactory and in general, the accommodation is well-stocked (kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, towels, tourist books, dvds, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, etc). Although the weather was slightly too chilly to sit outside often, there ...more
We stayed here as a group in July 2021. The house is lovely and well located for getting out and about to surrounding areas like Lulworth Cove. Our host Morag was lovely and very helpful both in advance and during our stay and we loved being in such a beautiful setting next to Came House. One point to note is that a couple of guests in our group did find the bedrooms very light so worth bringing eye masks or travel blinds if you are a light sleeper.
The helpful host has provided a charming place to stay that opens the doors to many area attractions.
Our party of four, had a really nice vacation in this charming cottage & village, the cottage is well equipped with everything you need, & is very comfortable, it has quite a few low doorways & beams so mind yer head, There is a nice pub just across the way, where nice sunsets over the hills can be enjoyed, whilst sampling a pint of Dorset Hays cider And for a very very nice meal try the "Marquis of lorne " about a 2 minute drive, or 15 minute walk away, though take a torch if your walking! The location is a bit remote, but this did not matter to us as it was all part of the fun, we came b...more
Stayed for a 5 night break in September. Lovely, cosy cottage which was perfect for the 2 of us. Welcome hamper is a lovely touch but as it included bacon and eggs, would advise including cooking oil. Also no oven gloves which would be advisable. Would definitely recommend for a short break
We had a fantastic week exploring Dorset and Garden cottage was the idea base. It was stocked with everything you might need during your stay and the welcome hamper was a lovely little touch. John & Sally were extremely welcoming, and we enjoyed our little visits from Luca the dog. Upwey is super cute. We enjoyed breakfast and afternoon cakes at the Wishing Well tea rooms and had a delightful evening meal at The Ship Inn. Both were friendly and warm places and we are looking forward to our next visit already.
Very well stocked beautiful house in a very quiet location. Enough space for our group of 5 plus 2 dogs. The house is beautiful, garden and outside space great. We enjoyed using it as a base for journeys to the south coast. And would definitely recommend and try to get back there again in the future.
Super cottage that was perfect escape post lockdown. House was very clean and well furnished and catered for all our needs . Wonderful location for walking and just recharging batteries .
Nine family members stayed in this beautiful house in Wimborne. It was perfect for us - very well equipped and comfortable with a nice garden and a few minutes walk into the centre of the lovely little town. The New Forest is close by and various beaches not too far plus stately homes and gardens. All together a great house in a lovely area. Would thoroughly recommend it.
...in beautiful countryside and easy reach of the coast. Only problem - especially for older people - was the lack of any bannister or other support on the staircase. .
We absolutely loved our holiday at the barn. There were three generations of us and it was perfect for everyone.
The cottage was cosy and comfortable, great location in a beautiful area. Lovely garden and walks from the house. We had a lovely time and would visit again.
Picturesque rural setting with walks and animals to see (we even had a bat swoop in through the window!). Rope swings in the trees. Stunning lodge with plenty of space for groups or families, indoors and outdoors. Lovely welcome basket and friendly owners. We would return but possibly not with the grandparents next time. The wood floors and stairs were very slippery and there were a few falls during our stay. My elderly father-in-law found the stairs hard so preferred to stick to the ground floor. My 5 year old ended up in A&E with a minor head injury from slipping down the bottom steps and fa...more
This is beautiful place to stay .A nice quiet location. Clean, tidy .Great views Secure garden for the dog . Would definitely recommend
Beautiful house for a week with 3 families, particularly the kitchen diner. Kids loved the outside space and cinema room, both great in what was a rainy week. Everyone loved the hot tub. Quiet location, quite a drive to most activities but NT property nearby.
A well equipped comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. The garden was spacious and secure and ideal for a dog.
Absolutely beautiful Shepherd’s Hut in the most idyllic location. Near to Weymouth, Chesil Beach, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and so many more lovely places in Dorset. Cherry is such a lovely host and she can’t do enough for you. The comfiest bed ever and all the amenities you could ever need. Thank you for such a lovely, relaxing stay, we will be back!
Only two of us staying and two friends for lunch one day. Loved the location and cottagey feel of the place. Wonderful to have free run of the wood pile as used the woodburner each evening, Found TV set up a bit complicated and had to replace batteries in one of the remote controls to stand any chance of turning it on! Lounge was a great spot as sun went down over the fields.
We had a fantastic week staying at Horsehill cottage … the location is perfect the cottage so well stocked and equipped. Great walks from the doorstep …. Very dog friendly… and a fire pit too !! Thank you
Ideal location, perfect for walks, access to the town & lovely beach. Booked for 4 adults, and pleased only 2 could go as it would have been extremely cramped. The en suite, was extremely small with no shelf space. The twin bed room offered no room to manoeuvre past the bottom of the beds, so the one farthest from the door could not be accessed easily; fine for smaller children but not adults. The kitchen is small, however offers sufficient amenities, not sure how it would have coped with 4 adults. Lounge comfortable and nicely decorated, however we experienced some noise from the apartme...more
Beautiful well equipped cottage in tranquil location, ideal for walks in the countryside or even to the beach. Kids especially loved the swimming pool and games shed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beach View. Unfortunately the shower cubicle in the yellow bedroom did not appear to have been well cleaned if at all. We especially enjoyed the hamper etc. left for us and the spectacular views.
Location perfect and cottage had everything you would need but a little disappointed with cleanliness and privacy. Would probably stay at one of the other bigger cottages on the complex but not this one again.
Stayed for 1 week in this cosy apartment with my wife and son. Excellent location on seafront with fantastic views. Apartment is small - both bedrooms are small. Very limited storage space to unpack clothes - we ended up living out of our suitcases for the week. Needs some proper cupboards for storage in bedrooms. Nowhere to hang coats in hall. 2 dining chairs were broken when we arrived. Leather sofa in lounge is old and pretty uncomfortable. Needs a refit and better storage. Shutter in back bedroom broken also. Wasn't cheap to rent for the week so I feel the interior should be better for the...more
