Cool and airy in summer and cosy in winter, Sheepscombe Byre boasts stunning views across the rolling hills and beyond. Deceptively spacious, well equipped and a short amble to the local pub.

The directions to the cottage were poor and the cottage was inadequately signposted.
2nd bedroom more suitable for a single bed as the ceiling slope was so extreme. Bed very uncomfortable.
Having stayed in very many cottage’s I’ve never had one that didn’t at least leave a complimentary pint of milk.

Really nice cottage with all mod cons and beautiful surrounding countryside just a short walk to local pub. Lots of nice countryside walks. We loved our Christmas stay and it was perfect for two couples. Downside the utility room had a dreadful smell coming from oil boiler so you had to keep the door closed all of the time. The cottage is actually in the owners driveway which is not evident from the photo and although they did not disturb us their dog was always outside barking and they were constantly calling him in, so for anyone who is not dog friendly or have children who are wary not ideal. Anyone visiting the owners had to pass by the cottage and could look in. The heating was pre-set and sometimes it would be too hot or too cold and you could not adjust this. Apart from these points it is a perfect hideaway.

We were very pleased with the accommodation and were delighted the electrical equipment was easy to use especially the televisions and the cooking fasciitis’s.It was a very cosy stay with the log fire and the beautiful Christmas tree.

The cottage was cool and airy in a very hot week. It was really well equipped and comfortable. It was lovely to sit and have breakfast on the decking looking out over a beautiful, peaceful view. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful few days here with friends.

The location was beautiful and easy to visit this beautiful area

The accommodation was very good lovely layout good quality furnishings and plenty of kitchen implements

The underfloor heating was cosy on your feet but did get warm and was tricky to regulate but opening a window allowed for good airflow

The owner was so kind and thoughtful too

Very clean. Strange kitchen layout (dishwasher not near the sink, cabinets cannot be opened when dishwasher is open..) but nothing to worry about as one doesn’t live there. Comfortable beds, good showers, all in all good. The messages of what to do and what ABSOLUTELY not to touch!!! felt a bit unwelcoming. No welcome message or little things (eg small milk, orange juice, butter, cookies) provided that are normal at other places we have rented in the past. There were flowers on a sidetable.
Owners live next door. Nice enough lady (never met the husband). It should be mentioned that they live there. We called because we had a question regarding the heating and it felt weird when we were told „my wife will come over“ (hung up immediately) and never knew if that meant waiting half an hour, hour or 2 minutes…
So all in all we can recommend this cottage because it is very clean and well kept.
The view is of the driveway and a big tree… if you want to see the valley you have to go upstairs.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. We couldn’t have asked for a more idyllic location. So quiet, amazing views, extremely relaxing. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and the bed was so comfortable, like a warm hug at the end of the day! We will definitely return.

A very comfortable ,well equipped cottage. A welcome pack would have been appreciated,as there was no shop in the village. There were no toiletries as was stated in the information online. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was warm and cosy, and the beds were super comfortable.

We very much enjoyed our stay here - the accommodation was very well equipped. A couple of things puzzled/concerned us...we hope it is useful to have these noted.
1.We felt that the temperature set for the heating was not quite high enough @ 18 degrees. The rooms should feel warm enough without the use of the log-burner.
2. The arrival guide was useful but we were surprised that the Snowshill Arms did not feature on it. The delight of such a warm and welcoming pub within walking distance is a great plus. The food, though not a gastro-pub menu, was more than adequate and well cooked. The other omission which surprised us was The Broadway Deli - a shopper was hanging in the utility room but it did not appear on your list of grocery providers. An amazingly stocked shop, and very fresh vegetables.
3. We did not use your directions until very near Snowshill, as we were not coming from London or Birmingham, but from the south. However we feel that section 14 of your directions needs some careful proofreading/amendments so that it makes sense!

Sheepscombe Byre is a very comfortable barn conversion close to the beautiful village of Snowshill. The village pub is within walking distance down a quite steep hill.
The access lane to the property is a very narrow single track.
The property has everything you need for a comfortable break in this part of the world. The barn is sited closer to the owners property than suggested on the photographs but this was not a problem as they not intrusive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week's holiday at Sheepscombe Byre in the beautiful village of Snowshill. The weather was excellent and the walking and countryside were just lovely. The house was well maintained and was well fitted out.
We would certainly be happy to return to this venue.

The location of Sheepscombe Byre is super. The floor to ceiling windows of the ground floor provide expansive views out across the Cotswolds. The cottage itself was clean, with good facilities. Beds were comfortable. Overall, a good cottage and one we would go to again.

After reading excellent reviews already we last minute visited this generous sized converted Byre for a 'special' birthday. So glad we did, having loved Snowshill village for a long time it was fabulous to stay there. Perfect spot for quiet relaxation plus walking and a very friendly pub , providing 'hearty' portions and a huge variety at such unexpected reasonable prices.
The owners live next door and are friendly, helpful and completely unobtrusive .
Well equipped kitchen/dining and laundry facilities and two ensuite shower rooms make a perfect home from home with a super king size bed as comfy as a fluffy cloud. Like other visitors here we will definitely be back it's a 'keeper' as we say!

Very clean in a quiet location with good size accommodation. It would be good to know there is a coffee machine, and the type of pods it takes. I looked to see if this was provided as we have a built in machine; not being used to this type of coffee maker l bought two lots of pods which were not compatible. This is only a small niggle but would be useful to others booking the accommodation.

Comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in a convenient location for garden visiting and walks from the door.

Good to have an ensuite for each bedroom.

Downstairs living space perfect for four adults on holiday. However the bedrooms set into the roof space with a sloping ceiling can be difficult if your party consists of four adults. One bedroom and double bed location is particularly awkward resulting in head collisions! Twin beds might work better in this room.

Two outside sitting areas; one with a view down the valley and in the sun at the end of the day!
