Do you want to escape the city's clamor and is the Lake District's beauty beckoning you? Seed Howe Cottage, nestled on the edge of the national park, promises a tranquil getaway.

Stepping inside, you're greeted by a symphony of history and modern comfort. Exposed stone walls, time worn beams, and flagged floors whisper tales of the past, while a cosy wood-burning stove invites you to relax.

The cottage is designed for easy living, with three bedrooms on the ground floor. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed and a private shower room, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

Upstairs, the vaulted ceiling and original beams add a touch of grandeur to the spacious living area. The wood-burning stove, nestled against an ancient chimney breast, provides warmth and ambience.

The well-equipped kitchen offers everything you need to whip up delicious meals, and the dining area with its patio doors leading to the garden invites you to linger over meals and plan your adventures.

Seed Howe Cottage is more than just a place to stay; it's a sanctuary where you can reconnect with nature and rediscover the simple pleasures of life.

Nestled just 4 miles east of Windermere, Staveley boasts a variety of attractions, restaurants, and pubs. Thanks to the new bypass, this charming village has become increasingly popular amongst visitors seeking a tranquil retreat after a day of sightseeing, while still offering convenient travel options for exploration and adventure.

Hop on the 7-minute train ride on the Oxenholme to Windermere railway line to explore shops, enjoy a meal, and experience the local nightlife. Use the Stagecoach buses to venture to nearby destinations like Kendal, Grasmere, Ambleside, and Keswick. Alternatively, stroll down to Lake Windermere for a scenic lake cruise to Lakeside or Ambleside. The River Kent winds along the village, perfect for leisurely walks.

For those seeking more adventure, the Kentmere and Longsleddale Valleys—the inspiration for Postman Pat—are easily accessible for hikes that reward you with stunning Lakeland views. Staveley features a Spar shop for any last-minute grocery needs, and the well-known Eagle and Child Inn serves up delicious home-cooked meals.

Mooi, sfeervol en volledig uitgerust huisje. Heerlijk om in “thuis” te komen na een dag buiten. Goede ligging, nabij kleine boodschappen en gevarieerde horeca.

We really enjoyed the spacious house. The upstairs living space gives a lot of atmosphere. Spacious kitchen with enough appliances etc. The contact with the host was very pleasant and the information in the house was also more than sufficient. Nice games and books. Beautiful location from where you can explore the area on foot, by bike, car, or public transport. We had a great time!

Thank you for your review of Seed Howe, you definitely brought the weather with you as you said you would. We are pleased you were able to get out and about on your bike and explore our beautiful corner of England. We have spoken to our caretaker regarding the cobwebs and she is addressing these on her next visit and apologises that they had been missed.

Nice and Cosy House in a Great Location.

The House is in prime location for all of your Lake District excursions.
The House has great beds, excellent showers, comfortable living room for the evenings, and a well stocked kitchen and easy to operate kitchen with all your basic needs.
2 main things that were a bit disappointing. The lock on the door does not give a great feeling of security in the house. The door lock should be reinforced to give a better feeling. The second issue was the dishwasher which was shorting the electricity, and which was not dealt with during our stay (granted it was a bank holiday weekend, which makes it more excusable, but we felt a little uncomfortable that there are electricity problems). The electricity should also be dealt with asap.
Overall we had a good experience in the house, and would recommend that others visit the property, especially if these two issues are dealt with beforehand, as the rest of the house is comfortable and the location excellent.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Seed Howe, it is a lovely cottage in an ideal location for exploring the lakes. Unfortunately we were unable to get any one out to the dishwasher over the bank holiday weekend, our white goods contractor was away for the bank holiday weekend. He has been out and the dishwasher has been replaced. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future.
