Nestled just off the A66, surrounded by majestic fells and swooping valleys is Hutton John, a small hamlet in the heart of the Ullswater fells. The area lends itself to peaceful breaks away, being just off the popular beaten tracks of the Lake District but close to many of the popular tourist hotspots such as Ullswater, Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and Bowness on Windermere. There are a range of activities on your doorstep, the Rheged Centre with cafes, galleries and shops is a 5 minute drive, Dalemain House and Gardens and the Alpaca Centre are 15 minutes drive and Lake Ullswater itself with lake cruise and watersports is 10 minutes away.

The outdoor enthusiast can enjoy an abundance of walks from the door with woodlands, Great Mell Fell leading to Aira Force and the Caldbeck Fells all within easy reach of your holiday retreat. The coast 2 coast cycle route passes the door and watersports on Lake Ullswater are within a 10 minute drive. After your day’s exploring, return to the peace and tranquility of Hutton John where you can relax, prepare a delicious home cooked meal in the comfort of your well equipped kitchen and reflect on the day’s adventures together. On the nights you prefer not to cook, Dacre and Penruddock each have a village inn serving home cooked meals and local ales, both within 3 miles. The cottage is on the owners 550 acre estate close to Lake Ullswater and has been lovingly maintained with the enthesis on environmentally eco friendly materials that lend themselves to the surroundings and provide a modern home from home from which to enjoy a peaceful break away.

Located on the fellside, sheltered by trees and with stunning views down the valley the cabin offers spacious accommodation for a getaway at any time of year. Positioned next to Brow Wood with woodland views, it is warm and cosy no matter what the Cumbrian weather outside. Guests have use of the quadrangle for al fresco dining, picnicking or enjoying a drink with other holidaymakers, from here take the 2 minute walk leading to the viewing platform, marvel at the most amazing views as they start to unfold on your descent. Once at the platform, relax on the bench while you immerse yourself in the view leaving the commotion of everyday living behind you. The cabin is the perfect base to enjoy an ‘away from it all’ break leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed.

The L shaped cabin has solar powered electric under floor heating and comprises: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with Smart TV. The kitchen is equipped with oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge and quartz worktops. Bedroom with super king size bed. Shower room with vanity unit and WC.

All electric, gas, bed linen and towels provided. 1 well behaved dog welcome. Shared use of the parking area within 50 yards of the cabin. Private decking area with table and chairs, insulated outdoor bath and wood fired hot tub, please bring your own logs.

Lovely location in the family estate, the accommodation over looks fields and woodland and was very well presented Access to many walks, not to far from all the well known Lakes and tourist attractions. For those who want to explore many roads off the beaten track with beautiful views . Recommended.
