Surrounded by stunning mountain views and Lake Windermere, Coniston Water and Tarn Hows all just a short drive away are just a few of the reasons holidaymakers flock to Hawkshead Hill, it truly is located in the ‘Heart of the Lake District’. The picturesque village of Hawkshead is 1.5 miles away; beloved by Beatrix Potter the village is very much unchanged from the days she visited with the white washed buildings, cobbled alleyways and archways. The hamlet is an ideal base from which to explore the central and southern Lake District, the Langdale Valley with majestic mountains is a short drive north and Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, for water based adventures, are a short drive or take the car ferry across Lake Windermere and explore Bowness-on-Windermere. Ambleside (10 minutes) and Grasmere (20 minutes) are also easily reached by car with Keswick just 40 minutes away over the lovely Dunmail Raise.

Henry’s Apartment is a simple, comfortable ground floor apartment in the owners’ historic country house in a stunning location with magnificent views across the Esthwaite Valley to the south eastern fells. Set in 3 acres of a beautiful Lakeland garden shared with the owners with waterways and views across the fells, guests can enjoy one of the many scenic walks right from the door or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. Hawkshead, Ambleside and Coniston are all within a 10 minute drive for evenings out or wandering around the shops and art galleries, making this an ideal base from which to enjoy the central and southern Lake District. The apartment is best suited to a couple, a family with older children (8+) due to the open water ways in the garden.

The apartment has its own entrance, is gas centrally heated and comprises: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with comfy 3 piece suite around the digital FreeSat TV with DVD player, selection of books, CDs and board games. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Small bedroom with twin beds, separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

All gas, electricity, bed linen and towels provided. Two small well behaved dogs welcome at a small supplement. Use of the owners’ washing machine and tumble dryer can be arranged at a small supplement. Ample private parking for up to two cars. Shared use of the extensive gardens with mature planting and fell views. BBQ and outdoor furniture.
