Its not hard to see why Keswick is a popular holiday destination, surrounded by stunning scenery, a choice of 2 lakes on your doorstep, an abundance of boutique and outdoor shops, restaurants, pubs and activities for young and old alike, make it the first choice for many people holidaying in the Lake District. Wander up the Main Street, passing the easily recognizable Moot Hall, whilst gazing in the shop windows or reading the menus of the cafes and eateries, pause for a refreshing drink in one of the pubs, continue your journey passing Hope Park and the Theatre by the Lake to the shores of Derwentwater. From here you can enjoy a cruise around the lake, hire a rowing boat, try paddleboarding, feed the ducks or simply sit, relax, and enjoy the stunning lake vista. Keswick has 2 parks with crazy golf, putting green and tennis courts for the days you don’t venture into the fells there are a number of these right on your doorstep including Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Catbells and Latrigg. Bassenthwaite Lake is a 10-minute drive and the western lakes of Ennerdale, Wast Water and Loweswater are all less than half an hour away. Lake Ullswater and the Lakeland village of Grasmere are a 15-minute drive with Ambleside and Windermere within half an hour. In all there is everything needed for an action packed, fun filled, holiday.

Greta View is an upside-down style house with the living area upstairs to take advantage, as the name suggests, of the view over the River Greta and Fitz Park to Latrigg with Skiddaw towering above. The cottage offers luxurious, spacious, and stylish accommodation for families or friends looking for a central base in Keswick. The cottage benefits from its own south facing garden with patio and garden furniture, perfect for al fresco dining and a sun trap on sunny days, it has a garage and driveway for convenient parking.

The cottage is gas centrally heated and comprises: Double bedroom with king size bed and TV. Twin bedroom (can be zipped together to make a super king size bed on request) with TV. Bathroom with rainfall shower, feature roll top bath, hand basin and WC. Entrance vestibule with access to the garage with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.

First floor: Open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with comfy seating around the Smart TV, gas fire and dining table. Kitchen with range oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. Master bedroom with super king size bed with TV and en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. Cot and highchair available. Private parking for 2 medium cars on the drive and 1 small car in the garage. Garden with patio and garden furniture.

We have had a fantastic week away together in this fantastic house. It didn't lack any home comfort and it was a pleasure to return to after a long day out. The dogs loved the park opposite and the courtyard provided a secluded spot to enjoy the evening sun. On the recommendations of the Scott family we too would recommend the coffee at The Elm Cafe in the George Fisher Store along with a meal at Bar Es for Mexican food and cocktails - a truly delicious combination! Thank you to the host, this property was very well appointed, clean and the decor was calm and inviting. We hope to return next year.

PS If you are looking for somewhere 'different' to have afternoon tea or a great meal, check out 'Bassenthwaite Lake Station'.
